Reading the comments you have recieved I to was told that the FDA is doing a 2 year test on the possibility that the depo shot could cause permannent bone loss; the FDA has also issued a black box warning due to the possibilty of permanent bone loss; so to all women reading this and are currently taking depo please implement a high dose of calcium supplements the future of your bones depends on it I was told about the black box warning in early December

I don't know what to do. I just found out I am pregnant again. Oct.30 I delivered a 26week old baby, who died. I got on depo and recently switched back to micronor. Now I am pregnant i didn't even know I started ovulating again. I am scared to tell my boyfriend who is so overwhelmed with bills. Also, i am scared that I will lose this baby as well although the doctors couldn't figure out why I went into labor early before.Do you have any advice on what I should do next?

I wish I had an answers, but all I can add is another story. I was on the depo shot for a little over 1 year. I got on it after I had my son in July 2001. When I got on the shot, I had asked the nurse that if I wanted to start trying for another child, when should I stop taking the shot. She said to not come for the next shot and I should be fine. My last shot was March of 2003. My husband and I have had unprotected sex for 2 years already and nothing is happening. I started asking around to people I knew who were either on the shot or tried it and they said that they heard it took up to 1 to 2 years for the depo shot to get out of your system. I was pissed when I heard that because that was not what the nurse advised me and if I knew that, I would have never of taken the shot. I wanted to have my children close in age. My son is going to be four. I know, its still not to late, but when you have a plan and something like this screws it up, it is really upsetting. If I would have known, I would have never of gotten on the shot. I had the same symptoms as everyone else, the mood swings, the weight gain and no sex drive. I even thought of divorcing my husband because was going crazy. I didn't realize how crazy I was until after I got off the shot. It was HORRIBLE! This is an awful medication and should not be given to ANYONE! It is very frusturating and disappointing when you go into the bathroom and take that test and it comes out negative.
I went to the doctor and he has put me on Clomid. I will find out the 23rd of this month to see if I am pregnant. I don't get my hopes up because I have been disappointed so many times. He says that if this doesn't work that he will have to do other tests on my husband and I. I know there is nothing wrong with my husband. All I know is that this shot screwed me up!!!. I know that some people may say that you get all the information on the depo in a booklet the doctor's office provids to you. A lot of people depend and trust in their physicians to make sure that they are taking the appropriate medications and to not take anything that may harm them. That is why they went to medical school, to help people and give medical advise. They should have been more detailed about the side effects and what could happen if you get on the shot, especially if you want to have more children I stressed to the nurse and doctor how my husband and I wanted more children. NOONE ever told me that it would take this long to get out of my system. Good luck to every. I will keep you in my prayers.

I was on depo for about a year. I had my last shot in July of 2004 and I found out I was pregnant in March of 2005. So you are about due to be regular. All me and my husband did was try every night until my period was due and the first test I took was positive! Try taking Vitex. Its a vitamin to help stimulate normal menstral cycles and apparently it help us conceive! Good luck it will happen
