hi, i'm new to the site. i'm going through this problem aswell. was on provera for 5 1/2 yrs, came off it aug'06, periods back to normal straight way, have been trying ever since with no joy. surely if they can invent this kind of injection they can invent a reversable one!??

does anyone know of any lawsuits pertaining to the shot. i can honestly say that i had my first child when i was 19. right after giving birth the doctor came into the room and gave me the shot. didn't tell me anything about the reprecutions or anything like that. after that i bled for more then 9months straight. when i approached the doctor about it he informed me that some girls had the same issue and that it was normal. my son is 6 now and i am 25. i have tried concieving just so he is not the only child, but nothing is working. i don't see how after 6yrs since taking the shot once can affect one person so bad and possibly a small family. believe me, my son is already asking for someone to play with. i just don't think it's fair that all these families are suffering from this. something needs to be done!!

I can relate to everyone. Before i have my son, I've been on depo aproximately five years. When I stop taking the shot it took me almost two years befor i actually got pregnant. After i had my son i started depo again because i living under my mother's ruth. finally i got my own place and got married. my son is two and a half now and i'm ready for baby number two. I stop taking depo in 2006 of november, well its 2008 march and no baby no 2 yet. my menstraul started six mos later and now my menstraul is acting crazy for some odd reason. i wonder is this it!!..........yea right.

Barb, it takes a year or longer to get the Depo out of your system.

hello, my name is Leah and I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. It all started when I was 16, my mother wanted me on birth control to help regulate my periods, we choose depo cuz it would be easier. After I moved out and found out I was pregnant at 18, I didn't give it any thought as to which method I would use after I had my baby. I am now 20 and my daughter being 17 months, 6 weeks after she was born I got back on the depo without knowing how long it would take and the side effects, I simply got it cuz I had been on it before. I have been off the depo for since Sep 2007 with no period since and have sypmtoms of sore and tender breats, nauseousness, hot flashes, enlarged breast, weight gain, fatigue. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant but nothing happens, should I get on the pill to help regulate my periods or should I just wait it out and see if I get it. Is this normal or is it just me?

hi ....everyone
well my question is that i only had one dose of depo provera which lasted 3 months... i just hated the way it made me feel i got so depressed and suicide became an issue when my fiance broke up with me well all that is over thank god i just recently hooked up back with a long lost love and we got married we want to get pregnant and we have been trying for a couple of months now and im scared that it is me either im infertile which is very unlikely because both sides of my family or very big on my dads side my grandmother had 16 kids all who have had a lot of children of there own and on my moms side my grandmother had 14 and my mom had 7 of her own including me or its the depo shot that has something to do with it. i know its not him because he has two kids with his first wife.... is it just me or should i keep trying.. i just hate the fact that we keep trying and i feel like this time it will finally happen and every month i get disapointed any advice?
