Sav - October 4

Hi. Congrats on the new job Allison I am a special ed teacher and it is certainly a rewarding but often gut wrenching job. I loved it. You must be so busy with studying as well. Good luck with it all Heather, 6 weeks will fly by I am sure. Is that until you start medications or until retrievals? There is no way Dh could give me needles, he couldn't even be in the same room I am sure. I am more scared about the mxing of it than the actual needle, but I guess I'll get a handle on it all. Baby dust to all

Good Afternoon! Sav - I bet you will do just fine on the mixing. It is very simple. If you have any questions, please let me know and I can try to help. I think the doctor is going to start me on birth control first for 2-3 weeks to silence my ovaries before I start the injections and those should take about a week or two and then I should be ready for the egg retrival/transfer process. I am going tomorrow and hopefully get a better idea of what's in store. I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow. Take care!

I am very scared to test. Not sure when I ovulated any more. We have been bd almost every other day. Hi, Heather. Sav: I have worked with special ed. elem. students, but never high school students. Somethins are similar but others are not.

Hi. Understand your fear Allison. When do you think af is due. I have mainly been involved with early intervention so lots of little kids. Parents have probably caused the biggest concerns!
Good luck tomorrow Heather. I bet you have a long list of questions. Hopefully will start injections tomorrow. My ds is running a fever tonight so hoping he is okay. Dh is trying to get home to look after him while I go to the doctors otherwise I may have to delay another cycle. What ever will be I guess.

Hi Sav and Allison! Hope you both are well. Allison, have you tested yet? I had my appt. yesterday to discuss IVF. Wow is there a lot involved! It was a bit overwheming but I think I am ready. I start my medication on the 21st and should be ready for retrival/transfer around Nov. 13th - 16th. I am getting so nervous! Hope you both have a great weekend!

hey heather,,,
well i am with u ..i will start my ivf as this was my 3rd failed IUI ..my appointment is on 12 oct ...So tell me what they will do for iVF ? r u paying by urself. or choose shared risk prog

HeatherP - October 6

Hi Aish! I am so nervous about starting IVF but after meeting with the doctor yesterday I am feeling much better. They have a couple of programs that I could possibly qualify for (such as a shared risk program) but they won't know if I qualify until they see the quality of my eggs when they do the retrieval. Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover IVF. The whole process takes about a month and a half to complete. I will start Lupron injections on Oct. 21st for approx. 2 weeks. Then go in for an ultrasound and start the injectibles to stimulate follicle growth. I will do those for about 2 weeks, then do an hcg trigger shot, and then go in for the egg retrieval. Then considering how the embryos are forming they will either transfer them on day 3 or day 5. I've heard if they can get them to day 5 that is better. Then after the egg transfer, I will do progesterone injections for 2 weeks and then come in for a pregnancy test. Wow! I'm exhausted just typing it all! Hehehe! But my doctor has a 68% success rate with girls under age 35 with IVF so I am hoping it will all be worth it in the end. My DH has a low sperm count so it is possible we could get pregnant on our own but after having 2 miscarriages, my RE really thinks that IVF is the best thing for me. Good luck with your appt. on the 12th. Let me know how it goes. Maybe we can go through this together! Have a great weekend! ( :

Hi all. Heather it sounds like all is going really well with the lead up to IVF. they are great stats for your doctor. I'm sure once you start all the meds time will fly by. What is all the extra bw your doctor wanted done. Aish good luck on your IVF trail as well. Allison how is it going any news either way? I did make it to the doctors and have started the injections. Tonight is the first night I go it alone, so hoping I remember it all! Go back Mon for u/s and b/w and hopefully they can give me abit more of an idea of when I can trigger. Getting impatient now. Hope everyone has a good weekend

HeatherP - October 9

Morning everyone! Sav - How are the injections going? I am so excited for you!! Have you had an u/s yet to check your follicle growth? DH and I go in for b/w today. They will be doing a standard check to ensure we don't have any STD's that could pass on to a baby and a couple of other diseases I can't remember off hand. I also have to go in tomorrow for a sonohysterography to make sure I don't have any polyps in my uterine lining as well as a "mock transfer". They basically do a trial run of injecting the embryos to make sure they use the right size cathedar and that everything goes smoothly as to not damage the embryos. It may be a bit painful so I was instructed to take 4 Advil before coming. I am getting so nervous but excited at the same time!!! Aish - let me know how your appointment goes Thursday! Allison - Hoping to hear from you and how it went this cycle. Sending lots of prayers your way!

Sav - October 9

Hi All. Heather sounds like things are really moving. Good luck tomorrow, hopefully it wont be too painful. Allison I am hoping that no news is good news.
Had ultrasound today and have 4 follicles ranging from 8 - 11mm with a nice thick lining. Nurse was really happy with it seeing I am only cd8. Just wait to hear if RE wants to change medication and dosage etc. Injections aren't too bad but glad it is only for part of the month! Take care and speak to you soon

Allison35 - October 9

Good luck to you, Heather. Sav- This is your month. Prayers and baby dust to you both. Af was due 10/05/06, nothing yet. Took one test , the lines did not show hardly at all. Probably a bad test.

Sav - October 9

Allison you are the picture of patience. Is af often late or is this a very good sign? Fingers crossed for you and hoping that this is your month. Thankyou for your good thoughts, I'm feeling positive. Babydust to you all.

Sav - October 11

Hi All. Thinking of you Allison with fingers crossed. How did you go Heather? As painful as predicted? I am now on repromedex and go back tomorrow for u/s. Hopefully trigger tomorrow or Fri.
Hope you all have a great day.

HeatherP - October 11

Hi all! Everything went great yesterday. All tests came up normal and the mock transfer went okay. It was pretty painful but they know now that I am very sensitive and will need Valium for the embryo transfer. They also gave me some antibiotics to make sure I don't get an infection from all the prodding they did yesterday. Very glad that is over!! Next on the list of things to do is an orientation at the hospital on IVF so I am looking forward to that. We will meet the embryologist and be able to ask all our questions. I will definitely start the medications on the 21st. Sav - how exciting! Almost time to trigger!! How are your follicles coming along? Have you had any side effects from the injections? Good luck!! Allison - Have you taken another test yet? I am so praying you get good news!!! Baby dust to both of you!!!

Lisa 03 - October 11

hi heather, I feel/felt your pain just hang in there. I had no side effects to the meds, and I have a horrible fear of needles,,,I just felt like I gained 50 pounds. lol

HeatherP - October 11

Hi Lisa! I know what you mean about the weight gain! Yikes! I have definitely gained weight since starting all these fertility medications. Here's hoping they pay off in the long run and we get our BFP's soon! ( :
