Hi ladies! I am doing my 1st IUI this month. I am on cd 10 and want to go in for an u/s to check for follicles, but it costs $307! Have any of you had your ins cover this? If so, who is your ins company? Also, how many follicles did you girls have when you did your IUI's?

ChristinaC who is your ins company? Do they also cover the IUI?

Hi Tonia, I produce an average of 7-8 follicles w/injectible meds. My insurance does cover visits and IUI, but pays only 50%. It is Blue Cross PPO.

Cool! I have United Health Care too. But when I look on line it says it does not cover artificial insemination......... maybe we have diferent plans? Is your clomid covered?

Christina, I also used to get so excited about the # of follies I was producing, but as you see, it has not gotten me anywhere, except being over-stimmed.

Welcome Tonia. Good luck on your 1st IUI. I have Anthem ins., & they cover unlimited u/s but no drugs or IUIs. I think they only cover my monitoring & infertility testing b/c it's OH state law. So I think the state you live in makes a difference in coverage too. My ovaries are lazy & tend to just produce 1 dominant follie per cycle. I had my 5th IUI on Sat. & had 1 big follie at my last u/s (last Wed..) & 2 12 mm follies that I hoped got big enough when I triggered on Thurs. night. That was on injectibles rather than Clomid. Good luck with this cycle! Christina, I hear ya on the Beer. Cheers!!!
