Hey there! I was told yesterday that I need to go lupron depot this monday! I am very scared as i have heard of cardiac arrests from it and the like...i had laproscopic surgery last July and was told if I wanted kids, I needed to have them in the next few eyars. I was married in Dec and we are TRYING to wait 2 years. However, now with the pain coming back and endo getting worse again, I dont know WHAT to do. I am only using BCpills and pain killers to treat it now. Any suggestions on the Lupron? i am only 23!

Hi, Tracy. I just had my last lupron shot yesterday. I was scared to get on it too because I heard all kinds of stories. I was blessed though, because mine wasn't as bad as you hear. My hot flashes didn't kick in until about the 4th shot. I was told you will get very emotional and just want to cry all the time. I only had 3 days total where I felt pretty down. So.......mine wasn't so bad. I know everyone is different. I asked my doctor a lot of questions before I started though. That helped me understand it a little better. I wanted to know exactly what it did, and why I needed to be on it. My doctors really helped me and made sure I was handling everything ok before my next shot. I go in again in March to visit with my doctor. We'll discuss what my next step is in getting pregnant. Ask your doctor anything anytime you have questions. That's what they're there for. Again, I was scared and nervous before I did it, but I'm hoping and praying it was worth it. I hope all goes well with you. Let me know what happens.

I was just told yest that I have Endo. What is lupron? I will have surgery in the upcoming week to figure out how bad it is. I didnt know there are stages. If you ladies can share some information with my, that would be most helpful. As I am sure you can relate, I am going out of mind thinking of all the possibilities and even reading your threads. I didnt know endro could be so demanding and life changing. I need teh support of women who are going through what I am or already have. I feel lost. I feel empty. Thank you.

Lupron is a shot that is given to prevent the endo to continue and it stops your mentrual cycle. I have stage IV endo and I just got my first lupron shot about three weeks ago. I also did it in 2001. Now is when I am starting to get a little bit of hot flashes but not that bad at all. No depression at this point, thank God. The laparoscopy is not bad at all. If you have endo sometimes they will remove it right then and there. You can still get pregnant once the doctors remove the endo. Good luck with your sugery roxxyttandme.

to ROXYTTANDME--what exams did you take before you were diagnosed with endo ? i am going for fertility testing and ot was not 100 percent told that i have endo but have had a few hormone blood samples and transvaginal ultrasounds i saw the dr. had written endo on my file papers...i am not sure you can diagnose endo just by a transvaginal ---.what testing did you do ? i knews the statistics arent so great for pregnancy with endo---but some of the posts written here i see that there is some hope....lest try not to think of statistics too much. ohhh i also have PCOS.---a double whammy.

Hey, Joy. I was just wondering how your doctor appointment went on the 16th? I had my (hopefully) last shot that day. I go back in on March 13 to visit with my doctor. I'm praying he has good things to say.

Hey bj: My Feb. 16th appt. was with a homeopath, which is a natural medicine doctor. I am doing that as well. I got my first shot on the 1st of February and I am now starting to get hot flashes, but very little. I am also having a hard time sleeping. I sleep until about 3:00 a.m. and then I toss and turn all night. I go back in May for my second shot of Lupron. Good luck with your doctor appointment and let me know how it goes. Hopefully you can be pregnant this year. Best of luck!!!!

Thanks, Joy. I'm hoping that for you, as well.

JSmith - March 2

Hi Everyone -
I was just reading your posts. I too, am dealing with endo. I am currently on Lupron injections. This is my second round with Lupron - my first was about 5 years ago. I have had 3 laparascopies, been put on continuous bc pills, and given some pretty heavy pain medication. The only thing that has stopped the pain completely are the Lupron injections. My bladder is also involved, but I am virtually pain-free as I write this. The hot flashes stink, BUT I would take them in a minute in comparison to the pain. Okay, the good news - I have a 3 1/2 little girl, who the doctor honestly thought would never be here - SO THERE IS HOPE! After this round of Lupron we are hoping to conceive another child - please pray for us - however, I have already been blessed with a beautiful little girl and maybe that is what God has planned for my family. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

HI JSmith. It's always encouraging to hear that someone else is going through what we are, AND knowing it has been successful. I pray this time around everything will work out great. Thank you for sharing with us. We all need encouraging every now and then. Keep us posted with your shots and everything.

Hi all, It has been a little over a month since I got my first shot of Lupron. I am having no hot flashes whatsoever and no depression - Thank God!!! However, I am having vaginal dryness and got really irritated to the point that I cannot even have intercourse. My husband has been on a diet for about 10 days now. Poor thing! I have been using Vagi-Guard which is a cream. It has gotten a lot better but not completely gone. Does anyone know of anything I can use to make the irritation go away quicker? Anything will help. Thanks

Hi Ladies. When you take Lupron for endo, how often do you get your shots? Does your dr give you the shots or do you give them yourselves? Thanks.

bj - March 6

Hey Joy. Sorry. I didn't experience any of that. Wish I could give you some advice. Have you asked your doctor? Maybe he can suggest something. Hi Ann. Everyones shots are different. I had them once every 3-4 weeks for 6 months. Hope all goes well.

Ann - March 6

Thanks, bj. I hope all goes well for you, too. I am starting injectibles to get pg this week, and the treatment also includes a low dose of Lupron twice per day along with the ovulation stimulation drugs. I wondered how it differed from the Lupron endo treatment. I also had endo, but they think they got it all with the lap. Good luck to everyone!

WOW! I wish I had found this forum months ago! I just finished my last shot of Lupron 5.5 weeks ago (6 month treatment). This was my second round with Endo and after my lap in August 05, my Dr. recommended Lupron since it is/was now on my colon. I am now waiting on my period so my husband and I can start "trying." We do not have children. We are both 30 and long for a little one (or two) in our lives! :) I've starting having a little aching like menstrual cramps the past two days. I have no idea when I'm going to start. I've heard it can be up to 3 months. Anyone have any experiences of starting their period again after Lupron?? I am just wondering what is going on. Thanks!

Oh yeah, I wanted to comment on Hot Flashes! Geez! They have gotten worse since my final shot! Like I said, I'm going on 6 weeks since my final shot and I'm still throwing covers at night and freezing hubby out! I sure hope these go away soon!

My prayers are with each and every one of you! It made me tear up to read all of your similar stories and to know I'm not alone. Thanks for sharing!

kim - March 6

just curious since doc thinks i may have endo, what exactly are lupron shots for ? do they stope endo from spreading ? can you conceive while doing the shots ? thanks
