hi kaytee! well, i know that Dr's normally make you take a break from clomid if you develop cysts because the clomid makes your ovaries more active and can make the cysts bigger. your Dr didn't say anything? maybe the Dr wants to see how you respond for 1 month. you usually take clomid on cycle days 2-6 or 3-7 or 5-9. i take it 3-7. they monitor you normally by doing an ultrasound right before you ovulate to check and see how your follicles are developing (those are kind of like the sack where the eggs are and the sack grows and then like explodes releasing the egg) then abour 7 days after you ovulate you go in for a blood progesterone to check your levels and that confirms that you did ovulate and that your levels are high enough. i have to go and buy my own opk's, don't go to a drug store they are more expenxive there! i get mine at target for $10 cheaper!!! my Dr told me to use First Response opk.
that is not normal for your temps to do that, did you take them at the same time everyday? that can make a big difference. and was it in the same spot of your mouth too? i do my temps and have about 10 cycles, so i have gotten pretty good at it!
did i miss anything???lol!
good luck to you! i have been ttc for about a year and this is my 3rd month of clomid and i am now in the 2ww!

Hi Everyone!!! I went to the new dr today, she prescribed me provera (more of it :) ) and she also gave me a few OPKs to take home. i had asked her about the whole monitoring thing, but she said that that it was her policy to start monitoring after 3 months on the clomid. has anyone taken clomid for OVER 3 months??

thanx tk.. that helped alot.. an the thing about my lil cysts was that i had my appoint wit my fertility dr on nov 2nd.. an wasent suposed to have another till january.. but between that time i was havin realy weired pains in my lower stomach.. so i made an appoint with my family dr. becaus its faster to get an appoinment there an they had me get the ultra sound.. so i dun think my fertility dr. knows about that yet.. atleast untill my appoint on the 17th.. an about the bbt i was just taking it right when i woke up.. an my schedule changes all the time.. so it hasent been the same time everyday.. an i try to take it in the same spot everytime.. but some mornings i wake up nauseas.. an i have a bad gag reflex so i cant put it as far under my tounge as i usually do.. would that make a diffrence?... thanx for the info though!!.. its helped alot!!

i think the biggest thing is the same time everyday, within a half hour of each other anyways. i set my alarm for 6am on the weekends take it, write it down then go back to sleep! i normally get up during the week between 5:30 and 6am.
yeah, your specialist will tell you what to do.
i haven't taken it over 3 months (and i hope i don't have to!) but i would think she would at least want to check the first month to make sure the dose is high enough?? i don't know.
good luck everyone!

Hey All, I am sooo excited. My Af is gone which means its almost time for a new cycle, which means it will be the 1st time I start Clomid. i am very excited and nervous, and I really hope I get a BFP. I am praying for all of you who have been posting with me in this thread, hoping that we all see that little + sign on our HPT! I cannot wait! How are all of you coping? Tk, have you heard anything or are you in the "waiting period"? Let me know, keep me updated!!!

Hi Ladies, its me once again, I have a quick question... is it bad to lose weight while you are TTC? I am starting the Clomid and provera, but I am unsure as to if this is bad to do or if it will screw anything up.. any experiences with this?

tk07 - January 7

hi! i don't think you are supposed to lose weight while ttc. a few pounds won't make any difference though. but drastic weight loss and exercise isn't good i don't think.
i am 4dpo today. i still have 10 more days to go though....

hello ladies, I was wondering if I could join your thread? I just finished my second round of clomid. DH and I have been ttc for over a year now, started seeing a specialist back in September. My cycles are NEVER normal, I've only started af on my own maybe twice in the past year and half, I always take proverra to bring it on. My first round of clomid in December was 100mg days 5-9, I didn't ovulate on it though. I had an HSG done before I started the clomid, and they foudn no blockages. I have PCOS, and I guess that's my only problem...the only one we have came across. This round of clomid I took 150mg days 3-7, I go on the 15th to do a progesterone check to see if I ovulate. If I don't ovulate on this round, my dr said we will try monitoring more carefully and possibly injections...I'm not sure what kind of injections, does anyone else know? TIA....***babydust***

Hi Mrose! You are more than welcome here, this site alone has given me the most support I could ever ask for! About the clomid and such, personally, your best off it you take your temps each morning. has a doctor explained any of that to you? I would do it, but I have messed up my charts and I forget alot of the time. By temping, you know for sure that you ovulated or not. Other than that, you can buy the OPKs, but they get expensive. My cycles are also messed up ( I think everyone elses in these boards are too, thats partly the problem of getting pregnant ;-) Normally if the doc is starting you on 100 mgs of clomid, esp with PCOS, Im surprised that you havent O'ed. Maybe you O late in your cycle. Ive heard that happens sometimes, but I cant be positive. Anyways, I have learned so much on these boards, so if you have anything you wanna talk about or any questions, all the ladies are so nice here :) Good Luck, and Babydust to you, and all of these beautiful ladies on here~~!!!

Thanks Mindy for the welcome. I've been using OPKs every month for a year now, I was taking my temp, but the dr told me it was neccessary, they are doing a cd 21 progesterone test to see if I ovulate. However, last round, which was my first, I did the cd21 progesterone test and it said I did not ovulate, but on cd39 I started af on my own, which I never do...so maybe I did ovulate late, I hope so....how long have you been ttc for?

Mindy1 - January 7

Hi mrose, I am 22, dh is 27 and we have been ttc for just about 2 years for baby #1, this month is the first time I am using Clomid. Normally when you get AF on your own, u usually ovulate on your own also, so maybe it was late in the cycle? What about you? How long have you been TTC? Is this your 1st?

mrose - January 8

we have been ttc for over a year...I think Nov. 2005 is when we really started, but I haven't been on bc since March 2004. I'll be 22 in a month, dh is 23. Trying for our first. Seems more impossible every month....If we have to do the IUI...I don't know we could really afford that right now, so I really hope that the clomid works. What cd are you on?

Mindy1 - January 8

Hey there, Im on CD 28, and AF went on for 25 of those days.. Shes finally gone, and Im gonna wait a week to see if she comes back, if not, Im gonna start my provera. Where are you from? Im in Chicago, IL
