I know that thte HSG cleans out your tubes and makes them more slippery for the egg to travel. I don't believe it actually "causes" ovulation, but it helps the egg travel to where it needs to go. You have abetter chance of conceiving becuase the debris and other gunk is washed away from the tubes. Don't be put off by poly cystic ovaries. I was diagnosed in August with them and ovulated on my own in Nov. Since it was the same cycle as my HSG, I timed it right and I got pregnant. Stay positive and try not to get discouraged. It can happen!

I literally had no symptoms other than no period on the day it was due. My sore boobs started a few days after that. If you start cramping but get no AF, I would test because I got cramps around that time and they lasted on and off for about a week. Good luck!

Hi nila i had the mis at 6 weeks and they couldnt find anything of what has happened and i dont know why they are making you wait so long for the hsg i went to my doctor and i told him to send me for one and i scheduled an appointment as soon as i got my period and 6 days later i had it done, so maybe you should find another place.cause that is way tooo long to wait for one to be done.

For those of you that got pregnant after the HSG, what were the first signs of pregnancy? Also, how early did you find out that you were in fact pregnant?

I literally had no symptoms other than no period on the day it was due. My sore boobs started a few days after that. I got cramps around that time and they lasted on and off for about a week. Around 6 weeks to 8 or 9 weeks, I got very mild nausea, but no vomiting. I felt like I had the flu but I didn't. Hope that helps! Good luck!

i, This is my first posting. I am 40 TTC for almost a year after a m/c on March 05. I had my HSG today Day 12 of my cycle. I asked the radiologist when I can have incontercourse and he only said "wait until the bleeding stop" I had no bleeding today at all, only a few cramps and general disconfor but nothing big. I am temting to wait until tomorrow night to have intercourse, but since it will be day13 in the cycle I am scared it could be too late. I really don't know why the did the test on day 12 . Anyone else in the same situation?
Thanks,

Cecilia
