Okiejpb - October 13

Helen-given all of the posts I've read, I think I want to try really hard to stay away from testing early. We'll see....Hopefully I'll make it to Sunday or Monday without AF, then I'll test.

Beth - October 13

Hi Everyone! Carrie-my RE says to BD the night of the IUI (only the 2nd if you do 2), but it seems like Helen was told not to. Since sperm should live 3-4 days, maybe you should wait until the next day to be safe. I'll ask again tomorrow.Okiejpb, Carrie, Mari and Helen-I'm thinking lots of happy baby thoughts for you and hope your 2ww go by quickly with pos. results! Please keep me posted. Today, I am 11 days into my cycle-E2 is 478 which seems kinda low, but baseline was 20. I have 10 follicles, but they are only 10-14mm. I'm kinda worried about that. My RE told me to take only 50 follistem tonight (I've been taking 150 every nt) and come in for more bloodwk and US tomorrow. Hopefully, the follicles will have grown lots and IUI Fri and Sat. We'll see. I am annovulatory without meds. This will be my 3rd IUI, but first on Follistem alone. I will do a trigger HCG, with 2 followup HCG shots and prog. suppositories. Anyone in a similar situation? Lots of baby dust to all! And thanks so much for being such a supportive, positive bunch!! (Sorry so long)

Mari - October 13

HI Everyone- iui went well today, almost no pain, not even close to last time (a lot of pain last iui). My re told us to bd tonight and tomorrow to improve odds and begin progesterone sup. saturday night and then twice a day. i was told if sperm is ok you should bd the night of iui and the next day, if sperm is not ok u should wait until the next day so the sperm could regenerate and i guess it also depends on the dr. Helen - were u given progesteron as well? good luck to everyone and tons of baby dust to us all. I will pray for all of us. thanks again for the wonderful suport.

Mari - October 13

Lynn- sorry to hear about your anemia hope u feel better soon. Take care.
Beth- good luck this weekend and hopefuly those follies will grow quickly. Okiejpb-I will pray af won't show here ugly face. Carrie- glad to hear everything went well. Anna- what's up girl?

helen - October 13

hi girls, my RE asked me to come in with my bladder full this morning and he used the ultrasound on my stomach to guide the iui so i hardly had any pain. DH sperm was great today! mari, i am on prometrium this month also. i'm so happy to hear that all went well today for you. remember to stay positive... beth, thank you and hope your follies continue to grow and good luck on your iui. let us know what happened. carrie, how are you? did you end up BD last night? lynn and anna, how are you girls doing? okiejpb, are you hanging in there? i hope you'll get through the weekend with flying colors. your'e right about the early hpt, no need to start obsessing so early right? well girls, i'll keep positive thoughts for all of us!!!

Carrie - October 13

We didn't BD..We will tonight..to be honest things were so emotional yesterday I just needed a mental break. I have to go in next wed for progestrone bloodwork. Hopefully this will be the month for us all.

helen - October 13

hey, quick question to anyone using prometrium...my RE only told me to start using right after iui but i forgot to ask, when do i stop using the suppositories? will i still get my AF if i'm on the progesterone? tried googling it but only told me about the contraindications of using prometrium. anyone have any answers for me? Carrie, have fun tonight with BD!!! hope you're doing better today.

Lynn - October 13

Gosh, it is going to be a busy cheering month. I think all of you are within days of each other. When I took prometrium during August IUI, I was told only to take it for 2 weeks and see what happens with blood test or HPT. My IUI did not hurt and 3 weeks past IUI is when I finally tested positive to HPT. I never had an ici. Hmm, why would some of you have both? I am doing fine and thanks for asking. I am glad it seems everyone is positive but please do not test too early and get down. Remember, keep busy and try to do fun things together while you wait out those 2 weeks. Good Luck girls.

Beth - October 14

Helen-I had one cycle where AF came while I was still on prog. suppos., but last cycle I thought I was preg b/c AF hadn't come yet, but after my neg. blood test I stopped prog. and AF came the next day. So keep using them until your blood test. And hopefully it will be a pos. and you will keep taking them...sometimes up to 12 weeks into preg. Good Luck and lots of baby dust!!

helen - October 14

thanks lynn and beth for your input. beth, how are you doing? how did your appt today go? are your E2 levels up from the other day? do you know when your scheduled for your iui? hope you're doing well. mari, carrie, do you have any cramping post-iui? i have some discomfort and my breasts are really sore. sweet baby dreams girls!!!

Carrie - October 14

Helen, I didn't have much cramping during or immediately after but later on Wednesday night my stomach begin to ache a bit and I still have it today..no severe cramping but more of an ache. I don't know what it all means be we will see I guess

Okiejpb - October 14

Mari-Glad that the IUI went well. Helen-I am also on prometrium (200mg suppositories, once a day in the evening for 10 days). My RE said that taking them longer will only prolong AF if you're not pregnant. I have two left. Unfortunately I had a teensy bit of spotting this morning. The avg person wouldn't have been able to see it, but us with an eagle eye who've been ttc for a while can see it very clearly. I won't fool myself into believing that it's implantation bleeding because I'm pretty much like clockwork. When using stims, I start spotting about 10dpo. Sorry to be such a downer. I tried to keep myself grounded this time around, but of course each day you get closer to your possible beta, the more hopeful you become that this is your month. Per the RE's instructions, I am to start birth control pills on day 2 of my cycle. He said that he will need to do a hysteroscopy before I am able to move forward with IVF. Has anyone had one of these before? When do they usually do this? Hope everyone is doing great.

Mari - October 14

Okiejpb- i'm sorry to hear af is coming. But we just have to keep on trying as well as stay positive and eventually our little bundle of joy will arrive. So you think your next step will be ivf? Helen - this time i haven't had that much cramping (hope its a good sign) and the breasts are not hurting yet. My re told me to stop the prometrium if the beta in 2 weeks comes back neg. if pos. they let u know if u need to keep using them and for how long. This last cycle has been diferent for me, i'm not as anxious as i always am, i feel calmer and at peace. I just know it will happen some day for me as well as all of us. Good luck ladies and take care.

Okiejpb - October 14

Mari-Thanks. We had already decided that if the last cycle didn't work, we would move forward with IVF. Since we're seeing a new RE he offered/suggested doing another Follistim/IUI cycle. The good thing is that no time was lost, because this month was just going to be used for day 3 labs (preliminary stuff). The other really good thing is that we do have our DD who just turned 2. I am optimistic that God will bless us to have more children. It's very encouraging to be able to chat with others who are going through ultimately the same thing. Thank you.

Beth - October 14

Hi Ladies-Helen, Carrie, Mari, and all other ladies in waiting...I'll be thinking lots of happy baby thoughts for you these next couple of weeks. I am actually cancelling this cycle, as I have too many follies getting too big and E2 levels continuing to rise. I'll take a month off to start birth control pills (how ironic???) and start IVF in Dec. I think the month off will also be good for my sanity. I'm going crazy over here. Okiejpb, will you be doing IVF or doing an IUI cycle with Follistem? Good Luck to everyone and lots of baby dust!!

helen - October 14

okiejpb, sorry to hear that AF is showing her ugly face!!! let us know how IVF goes and the protocol for the whole procedure. I'll probably do one more IUI and then move onto IVF. why is your new RE choosing to do a hysteroscopy? Beth, i know how you feel about cancelling your cycle and what a dilemma it is within yourself to make the right decision. but i'm sure that whatever choice you made would be the right one. please keep us posted on your new journey ahead. and i will pray for you and all of us that are struggling through infertility. mari, i envy your peace of mind. carrie, you think that you have a stomach ache from that IUI? hope you feel better soon. as for myself, no more cramps but i have extremely sensitive breasts and nipples. lynn, any more dizzy spells? anna, haven't heard from you in awhile, how are things?
