I would like to know how everyone found out how many follies they have prior to the IUI? Are you doing a special test? My doctor just told me to take the Clomid and ovulation tests and to call him when I am ovulating.

Well....there is only 1 baby...and I got to hear his/her heartbeat!!! It was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard! I got pregnant 3 days later than what they thought, which is why my numbers were so low in the beginning. My due date is Dec. 10, 2010. I am 6 weeks 3 days today. I am soooo excited and I hope that every single one of you get your BFP!!! I will be in touch! By the way, rtm...my IUI was not painful at all. I was waiting for my RE to do it and he said "Well...everything is where it needs to be now." I didn't even know he'd done anything! Good luck <3 Praying for you all. Please pray for me, too!

Congrats Adopted!!! I'm sooo happy for you. I started AF again - on CD 19 spotted for most of the day. Overnight she came however she seems to be almost gone, waiting it out today and tomorrow and will call the doc if she is completely gone b/c that's just too short and we think I ovulated really early last month so don't want to miss our chance this month again. I am starting clomid again CD 3-5 and Estradiol 8-12. Keep your finger crossed for me and pray for me. I'll be praying for all of you to get your BFP and have healthy pregnancies for those who have their BFP already!!!! Good Luck and Baby Dust.

congratulation adopted. i am so happy for you and i will continue to keep you in my prayers. whitney-you find out how many follicles you have by getting an u/s right before you ovulate.

my 2ww is almost over. i am so nervous. i don't feel pregnant and i took a test today(3days early-i couldn't wait any longer) it was negative. so i am really hoping that its just too early to tell. fingers crossed. baby dust to all.

Thanks for the congrats, everyone!!! And thanks for the prayers!! Ifisher...looks like we're in the same boat. They thought I was 6w6d when we did my ultrasound (yesterday...the 19th), but the baby measured 6w3d! So I got preggo later than they thought. Hope the u/s goes well for you! It is soooo awesome to hear the heartbeat! It's a feeling that you'll never forget and want to hear over and over and over. Alrndn....I took a HPT on day 11 and it was negative. But when I took one on day 13, there was a faint line. Day 14 was a darker line...so hang in there!! Praying for everyone still! My next appt. is April 30...with a OBGYN! Graduated from the RE :-) Keep trying y'all!!

Hi everyone! I just started reading this as I was going through my fertility testing. I had my first IUI on April 6th and had the blood test done yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised when my doctor's office called saying my test was positive and i was pregnant. I just never thought it was going to happen the first time. I had cramping that started last week and just thought my period was coming since i always get cramping a few days before. The 2 weeks of waiting is such a long wait. I refused to take a HPT because I didn't want to be disappointed.
My history: I'm 37 and my husband is 36. The fertility issue was with my husband (low sperm motility and low morphology). Had a saline sonogram where my doctor told me everything looked good. I took Clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle and had to give myself a shot of Ovidrel 36 hrs before my IUI.
Just wanted to let everyone know that IUI can be successful the first time. I'm wishing you all the best.

whitney412: The saline sonogram will show how many follicles you have and how big they are. I hope that helps.

Thanks Meg and Alrndn for the info. My doctor has told me very little. I am learning so much from your posts. It is so nice to read everyone's comments and see that other people are in my boat. :o)

Hi all. I had my IUI again on April 17th, and it pinched a bit more than it did the first time. I'm hoping that this is a good thing. The first time around I didn't feel different whatsoever, and it obviously didn't work. Last night I felt this slight throbbing kind of by my left hip bone ( a littel towards the middle), and it then went away. Later on I then felt the same this in my lower pelvic area. I'm hoping that this could be implantation cramping, but It's just hard to be positive when you feel pain! Does anyone know about implantation cramping??

BFN. as in not pregnant. as is in i just paid all this money for nothing. as in everyone will keep telling me don't worry it will happen soon. well its been 8yrs and now i'm mad. i'm mad at the world. it's so not fair.
sorry for all the complaining but i really needed to get that off my chest.

I tried clomid 50mg for 6 months, prescribed by my regular gynecologist. I only ovulated once. Then, I went to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist. I had a HSG, right tube blocked (probobly due to a fibroid removal 2 years ago, scar tissue). I again did one round of clomid 50mg, 1 follie on the right side, 4 on the left!! I did the Ovidrel trigger shot and then had the IUI 36 hours later....so hard to wait 2 weeks, but BFP!!! I am so happy it happened on the first try, I wasn't sure if I could emotionally handle trying that again... I am going to the Dr. in a few days for an US to make sure implantation occurred in the uterus and how many! I am praying for a healthy baby, I don't care if it is just 1 or 2. They did warn me that I was high risk for multiples because I responded so well to the drugs and had 5 follicles. I didn't ask how big they were, but the Dr. said they were all big enough to release an egg. He diagnosed me with mild PCOS a while back, 500mg a day of Metformin was enough to get me to a steady 28 day cycle for about the last 8 months. I am now 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. I will keep you posted, the US results! Good luck to all!

Mommyto2- I took at HPT 9 days post IUI and had a faint 2nd line...then a few days later it was a much darker line! I had 4 blood tests, 1 every 2nd day, and all the HCG levels have been great. Good luck TTC!! I'll be praying for you!

alrndn....I am sooooo sorry to hear about your BFN :-( :-( :-( You have been trying for 8 years?? Wow that is such a long time. You know...my husband and I adopted 4 kids (ages 8 months, 2, 4, & 5 at the time) through the state of IN before we tried fertility drugs. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. We went from no kids to 4 kids with LOTS and LOTS of problems. And I was only 24. But b/c I had been thru similar problems in my own childhood, I could definitely relate to them. Long story short, I love them more than anything in this world and I cannot imagine my life without them! You would never know that they are adopted or even that they had so many issues. They are completely different kids!!! I am not saying to give up on your dream of having biological kids, but I just want you to know how amazing adoption is. We actually got offered 2 babies within a 2 week time period (one didn't even have a name yet. He was a safe surrender baby), but b/c of foster care rules, we didn't have enough space for all of them. Maybe adoption is something you should consider or pray about and see if it is for you. Believe me when I say, I forget that mine are adopted! And you can give a child that's already here a new mommy :-) Just a thought.
