Hi my name is noi. I had the 1st shot of Lupron the beginning of Dec 2005 to shrink the fibroids, and the doctor can perform laproscopy with hysterectomy. The fibriods shrinked, and I am schedule for operation on April 14. So I had another shot of Lupron the beginning of this month. Hot flash for me, I can stand it but I've developed the pain on muscles, joints and numbness at night. It is very painful, every morning or when I wake up at night, I cannot move quickly. I had a hard time getting up. Doctor said it might be the side effect from Lupron or it is normal for my age( I am 41), and nothing I can do. Does anybody has these symptoms like I do?

Sorry, noi, I didn't have real bad symptoms with mine. On the day I had my shots though, I had trouble sleeping at night because I got sore on my backside. My doctor told me to take ibuprofen. It worked. After I started taking that when I had my shots, I was fine. I hope things get better for you!

Thank you BJ.
I can't wait to get done with the operation. I am so suffer with this symptoms. I feel like an old woman. All my muscle and joints hurt. I am waiting for the blood result for artritis, but my doctor said it doesn't look like I have it.

I'm Lynnette. I had a lap. done one week ago and found out I have stage 4 endo. I was SHOCKED since I have never had symptoms. My DH and I have been ttc for going on 3 years. NO WONDER!!! I start lupron when my next period comes which is second week of April. I had a breakdown tonight...crying and hopeless. This forum helped already! I am also a needle phobe. Is the actual injection bad? It's so very hard being told that you have to wait to try to conceive, but I know my health is my priority.

Hi Lynnette! I have had lap twice and just recently went through the Lupron shots. I will tell you that depending on how good your nurse is, it could sting a little. At least it is in the rump, so it isn't too bad! Do you have to do 6 months of Lupron? Good luck to you! It will be a crazy ride, but we can help you get through it!!!!

Hey Lynnette -
I am also relatively new to this forum, but I can tell you my experience with the Lupron injections. I have been on Lupron twice - the first time I took the injections monthly, this time I took one every 3 months and for me - the larger dose was a bit more painful when it was administered - but it really wasn't bad and I am a HUGE sissy when it comes to needles. Good luck with your shots!

Hey, girls. I'm sorry you have to go through everything, but you're in the right place to help you get through it. I just finished my Lupron shots. I will have to say, I was blessed. My symptoms weren't really that bad. If you have trouble with any symptoms, be sure and talk to your doctor about it. I'll be praying for you both. Please keep us posted!

Hey BJ! You out there? I just wanted to check in and see how things were going for you. I am STILL waiting for my period...9 weeks yesterday since my last Lupron shot. I sure hope I get it soon. Anyway, you were on my mind so I wanted to check on you! Hope all is well!

Joy - April 2

Hi all. Hey bj.....how are you doing? Hey, how does your doctor know that the lupron had good results for you? How were they able to tell? I go in for my second shot of lupron in May. Right now I am not even thinking much about this and that is why I have not written in a while. My grandmother is really sick. She has terminal cancer and we have been fighting with this since last June. She was so healthy before she was diagnosed and now to see her like this is very depressing. She was not doing bad until maybe a month or so ago and then on Friday morning, we got a call that she was non responsive. She is like in a semi coma. This is really overwhelming to our family, depressing and very hurtful so right now there is no room to even think about my problems. I just went on the forum because I am in the hospital ( I have been sleeping in the hospital since yesterday) and wanted to take my mind off of things because it is really depressing and hurtful. Well enough of my sad story. I wish you all the luck in the world for all of you out there trying to get pregnant. Hopefully, I will have my surgery in August and be able to start trying to get pregnant. Talk to you soon!!!

Hi, jla and joy. JLA, did your doctor put you on anything to help regulate you? Like birth control or anything? JOY, sorry to hear about your g-ma. You'll be in my prayers (along with your family) My doctor just said with all the blood test coming back good, and then he did a physical test (kind of like a pap smear, when they have to feel around and push on things) - there was no pain anywhere and he said that is a very good sign! YEAAAA! It was good to hear from the both of you. I love getting on this and having someone to talk to that's going through the same thing. My husband is great at listening, but sometimes you need someone that has actually gone through it. Thank you for always listening!

JSmith - April 5

Hi all-
I know you all don't know me very well, but sometimes I just need to talk to people who understand - my husband also tries, but has no clue. I visited my OB/GYN yesterday. I am just about done with my Lupron - my last injection was in Jan. and my hot flashes are slowly going away (about 1 a day now, compared to numerous daily). She said we can start trying any time - obviously my body has not started ovulating yet, but she said we can "try" any time. I am excited, yet extremely nervous - it's such a huge decision. Whatever is meant to be will be I suppose. I appreciate you all listening to me vent - it's nice to know someone actually understands what you are going through. Wish us luck!

bj - April 6

Hi, JSmith! We'll add you to our prayer list. I can't wait to hear everyone's good news!! It'll be so exciting. It'll be worth every bit of the Lupron. Hang in there and let us know what happens.

jla - April 6

Hey BJ! Hello JSMITH! Today is 10 weeks since my last Lupron shot and I still have not started. I will have to call my Dr. 3 weeks from today if I still have not started. I'm extremely frustrated, especially when I feel like my Dr. is giving me conflicting info compared to what others' doctors are giving them. I just pray I can get back to normal and we can conceive. Maybe it isn't our time, but I'm anxious! Good luck to you JSMITH! How are things going BJ?

bj - April 7

Things are going pretty good. I'm hoping to start soon. My boobs have been kind of sore, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. They usually hurt a little bit about a week before I start my period, so I'm hoping. I never thought I would be so anxious to start. I'll let you know how things go.

Erica - April 10

Hello there,
I took four injections of Lupron and before finishing the treatment I decided to stop ( I needed six injections). It has been one month since my last injection and I do not have my period. I am very concerned with it. I am trying to get pregnant and the uncertainty is killing me. Can I still ovulate or get pregnant without having my period?
Thank you....I will deeply appreciate your answer.
Erica
