ttc2- I gained 12 pounds on Clomid the first two months! :( Not happy about that! But like angel said, Metformin should help, and she is right....everyone response differently. I just started taking Metformin Thursday, so one pound down so far, not sure if that isn't just water weight though.

Angel- I am so sorry girl! I know that is highly disappointing! Hang in there though, we will hopefully all be pregnant sooner or later. Hopefully sooner than later though!

AS for me, well I will be on my 3rd day of Clomid today and my fourth day of Metformin. Can't wait until I am through with the Clomid and start BD!! lol Fingers crossed for all of us this cycle!! :)

Morning all
Angel I'm sorry af showed up :( next month!!
Well I had a stronger surge on sat so now I don't know when we should have been at it. Not that it matters as we were away with the fam on sat night all in one room so no chance!
I'm convinced things won't work this month which sucks. Timing just isn't right so hopefully next month. Now the dreaded 2ww!

O-BABY-Thanks for the info. I started metformin about 2-3 wks b4 i started the clomid, i think it made me gain weight first then the clomid just added to it. lol oh well when i get preg. i will gain weight anyway so i guess i should get used to it. Did u guys have an HSG test done also. I had 1 done first part of march & tubes were clean thats when i started the metformin then clomid on day 4. How many cycles of clomid have you been taking so far? Good luck to you all!!!! Prayers going up for u all! :)

Babymoon- Sorry to hear that you didn't have a chance to take advantage this weekend. And I am with you, the waiting is the worst part!

ttc2- Your welcome :) I did not have an HSG, my tubes were and are clear according to my Doc. And I kind of feel the same way about the weight gaining, I know I will gain when and if I become pregnant. But.....I lost a total of 28 lbs from sept 2010-jan 2011! Then I started taking Clomid and BAM, gained 12 lbs in two months, a little annoyed with it to tell ya the truth. Oh well, if it is what I have to go through to get a baby, then so be it! ;) And I am on round 3 of Clomid and I will be on Day 4 Monday.

ttc2 - Welcome!! I also had an HSG at the beginning of March. I'm currently on my 5th round of clomid, on cd4(cycle day. My doctor has put me on Metformin as well because of my insulin resistance from the PCOS I'm building up a resistance to the clomid. My 1st month on 50mg I o'd but not the 2nd month. My first month on 100mg I o'd but not the second month. So now I'm on 150mg this cycle and hoping it does the trick to make me "o" and hopefully get a positive preg test this month! I also have had some trouble with gaining weight since I started the clomid but I have found that the Metformin is helping me to lose some of that again . . .slowly but it's helping!

Good morning all. Had a nice weekend... except for AF showing ofcourse, I’m going to count today as CD2 even though yesterday was quite lite, it was not quite spotting, so I will start my clomid tonight. So almost with some of you on the clomid ;-)

Tempted to go see the doc end of this month for the script for a higher dose just to ask him for metformin too, might be worth it? I do have insulin resistance and struggling with my weight now.

Ttc2 – only just had my first round of clomid 50mg, now starting round 2 today, if it does not work, my dosage will be upped.

Have a great day all!!!

ttc2, welcome! This is a great forum with great women who are honest and thoughtful. I started 100 mg clomid in Feb. '11 and took 150 mg in March, doubled with an IUI on the March cycle. However, due to some neurological studies I had to get done this current cycle, my fertility doctor had me take this cycle off from treatment.

So the clomid had me on a 28 day cycle. Prior to that, my cycles were so irregular. This weekend I took the opk, and on Friday night I had a positive, and then had the same types of ovulatory pains that I get on clomid on Sat., so I am thinking I ovulated Sat. If so, I am directly on the same cycle schedule as when on clomid. Of course my husband and I bd'ed Sat. and Sunday :) ... and the 2ww begins...

Oh, Babymoon, family!!!! Always getting in the way of something ;) Who knows though...

Angel, here is to a new cycle of optimism!

Thanks jac1019 ?

I have suuuuuuch bad AF cramps today, taken tablets that have numbed them a bit but they are still sore, and I can feel the tablet is wearing off!! I always have about 24hours of terrible cramps ?

Also just frustrated today, found out my obgyn is on leave till the 18th, well him and his receptionist, so I explained to the other receptionist that I need the higher dosage script for clomid and might need to come for an u/s, well she can’t give me an appt till 25 May, that’s how full they are... so even if I go in 25 May, who knows if its anywhere on the right time of my cycle for him to do an u/s, I think I’ll call them the 18th and just ask them if I can pick up the script just before my next cycle is due. This is when I hate living in such a small town and one of the 3 obgyn’s here has gone on maternity leave, so there are 2 to service the entire town, and it’s not SUCH a small town.. I mean a 2 month wait to see one is bad. If you’re pregnant apparently they will squeeze you in if you want to see him, but if you’re not... tough luck!

Sorry had my little rant for the day, must be the hormones ?

@ngel - April 4

Ok sorry, all my sad and happy smiley faces have turned into ? marks again...

Jac1019 - That's awesome that you still ovulated on your own this month even though you weren't on clomid! Good luck! I'm glad that taking a month off didn't turn into a bad thing!

Angel - That would be so frausting not being able to get in to the Dr. until the end of May!! I definitely feel for you!

Babymoon - April 4

Jac great news on o on your own maybe there is truth in the 2 month thing!

Angel that sucks you can't get in for so long! :( it took around that long for my first appt but luckily they generally are available on the phone if I need them.

Not much happening with me ATM just waiting, pretty sure it would be a miracle if it worked this month but there's always next month, I think if may doesn't work I might convince dj to give iui a go. He isn't a fan of it at the mo, but if it's worth a shot I think we should consider it! How many of you guys have tried iui?

Babymoon - April 4

Dj is obviously dh! Spell check!

@ngel - April 5

babymoon - never tried iui, my doc has never mentioned it either, to be honest I have an idea what it is but what do they do? dont think that will be an option for me yet... i think in another 4 months i might go for a laparoscopy to check for endo etc, then maybe after that see. also tempted to just wait till Dec when we are on leave and take the 3 hour drive to see a specialist...

Babymoon - April 5

Angel
Iui is inter uterine insemination basically they monitor when you are going to o, then up to two days after the lh surge you go in for a quick procedure where they put husbands sperm which has been washed into your uterus, saves them having to swim and when timed right puts them right there when you o.

@ngel - April 5

Babymoon- Thanks for explaining that! Sounds amazing, and it must really increase the chances of falling pregnant too, here where I stay I have heard of ppl injecting themselves, so not sure if the doc will go that way with me first... day 1 of clomid over and I'm already feeling puffier.... I'm determined not to put on more weight this month!

@ngel - April 5

Ok just a quick question for those of you that have had more than one clomid cycle, did it make your AF much heavier and more painful? I’m still in so much pain today, yesterday was medium flow but more my 24hours of awful cramps, that I was taking pain killers for, today I have really heavy flow, more than I’m used to, and the pain is terrible, trying to to take pain killers as I don’t want to take too many, but I’m very crampy still, clotty too (sorry tmi), and its almost like the pain is shooting into my bowels. Although that I have been experiencing for a few months now. I keep running to the bathroom its so bad, I’m there more than in the office!
