Ok just a quick question for those of you that have had more than one clomid cycle, did it make your AF much heavier and more painful? I’m still in so much pain today, yesterday was medium flow but more my 24hours of awful cramps, that I was taking pain killers for, today I have really heavy flow, more than I’m used to, and the pain is terrible, trying to to take pain killers as I don’t want to take too many, but I’m very crampy still, clotty too (sorry tmi), and its almost like the pain is shooting into my bowels. Although that I have been experiencing for a few months now. I keep running to the bathroom its so bad, I’m there more than in the office!

babymoon- In March I had two back to back IUIs on a Saturday morning and then a Sunday morning because I ovulated, according to my ultrasound, in the middle of the night. I will be frank with the details. Your husband/partner provides a specimen that is no older that an hour old, or can go to a room in the office to provide it. Next, the doctors put the specimen through I "wash" that basically garners only the best of his specimen. From there, the specimen is placed into a thin syringe. Then, the doctor quickly inserts the syringe into your cervix. It is painless and quick, although of course you are in a wonderful, compromising position. I had slight spotting after my first IUI, which is totally normal. Next month, unless I get miraculously pg on this cycle off, I will have another IUI. Please ask me any questions you might have.

angel- my period was basically the same when I had my cycles with clomid; however, you are on other meds. which might alter your lining. Maybe it's heavier for good reasons?

@ngel - April 5

Jac1019 - I'm not on any other meds, only clomid so far, what do you mean by good reasons? I always thought having clots is actually bad, especially huge ones like this. At least it seems to have calmed down now, the clots and the pain and the heaviness, it was so hectic I feel quite dizzy now. Suppose it does not help that I'm anemic either.

sorry, angel- I was thinking you were on some of the other drugs that the ladies have mentioned.

Well, what I was thinking was that if you are one of the women who tends to have a lighter period, it could be a sign that you have a thicker uterine lining, which is good for conception rather than a thinner one.

Hmmm.... large clots? Was your period late? If it is concerning you, I would call.

ANGEL - I have also noticed that the months I have ovulated because of clomid that my AF is significantly heavier and more painful. I had to go home from work one month because I was in pain almost to the point of throwing up. clots aren't a bad thing, that means your getting rid of your lining from the previous month and you are starting to get ready for the next cycle to make a new lining in the hopes of becoming pregnant. However if the large clots continue for to long I would definitely call your doctor.

Thanks for the info jac! Will keep you posted if we go down that path!! My af is no heavier on clomid it's actually v light 2 days tops and v little blood - tmi , but generally like that anyway.

I've been a little flat these last few days, hearing of friends that got to hear their. Babies heart after falling right away. I'm very happy for them but sad for me that I don't see it happening at the mo! :(
Should be late next week and we can start round 3, so possibly I'm a little pms which probably doesn't help matters!
Have a good day all!

Jac1019 – luteal phase was only about 12/13 days so it was prob just from the clomid this month ?

Hopefullysoon – maybe I’m just not used to AF like this as I don’t normally ovulate... I did read somewhere that cramps could be linked to ovulatory cycles, not sure how true this is. Your cramps sound awful! I was on ibuprofen but still in pain, not as bad as yours though. Everything seems better today, it’s like I had a 5 or 6 day period in one day! Quite scary, I felt so drained yesterday with such a headache, still have the headache today but suppose that can be expected.

Babymoon – don’t worry, I feel the same. Saw my cousin and her new baby on Sunday, and she said to me that her life finally feels complete, like her reason for living was to have this little boy, made me quite sad, but happy for her ofcourse. I think I have pms too, although maybe this is a side effect from the clomid but just feel so paranoid and down, like my other half is going to leave me or something! Then I think I might have felt like this first time on clomid too, or whenever I’m a bit hormonal. Silly hormones!

Have a great day all!!!

Angel, I know what you mean about bad cramps! Oh, boy! My period isn't heavy, but my lower back cramps are so bad at times that I just want to either cry or scream. I would probably call your Doc if they are extremely heavy like that. May be nothing at all, but better be safe then sorry later.
Let us know what he says if you call.

Hopefullysoon- WOW girl! Your cramps sound awful! I would definitely just lay there and cry if mine were that bad, or get some pain pills for sure. Sorry that you have to go through that pain :( Other than the cramps, how are you feeling this round on Clomid?

Jac1019- That is AWESOME that you O'd on your own! That is really good news. Hopefully good news coming your way girl :)

O-BABY - April 6

Babymoon- I think we all know how that feels to have woman around us that are pregnant or have just had a baby. Really stinks because you don't want to seem like you are unhappy for them, because that is not the case. You are happy, just don't understand why you can have the same. Totally understand girl. Hang in there though, hopefully you get your positive real soon! :)

O-BABY - April 6

I just took my last day of Clomid today...well yesterday considering it is 1:03am here. So...can't wait to start BD....lol And then I will be going in for my blood test to see if I ovulated. :)

Here's to good news for all of us SOON! :)

@ngel - April 6

O-baby - my doc is on leave till the 18th so cant even phone him, but I'm sure its all ok, today I am hardly spotting, so its kind of like it all just decided to come out in one day!

Also wont get my blood test this month, well I dont think so as the doc has not said anything, but I'll just keep charting my bbt's and see what they say. It was nice knowing I O'd last month and seeing the follicle on the scan, but the doctors here are a bit too booked up to have that done every month, maybe if I need the higher dosage he will to check for multiple follicles. I dont wanna need the higher dose though lol. Awfully nauseous today :( Must be a clomid side effect cause I think I had it last month too! No hot flushes yet though.. well not during the day at least.

@ngel - April 6

Another thing I wanted to know from you girls, I'm on CD4 now, so 3rd clomid pill tonight, but I'm already experiencing twinges in my left ovary, and they are quite painful. I actually think with my u/s last month that was the only ovary that had a follicle on it, the other ovary was still full of cysts from the pcos. So maybe I only have one good ovary...? I thought they made turns actually. I dont mind the pains as I feel like the clomid is doing its job.. its just a bit of an annoying pain that comes and goes. Lets hope I ovulate earlier thand CD25...

hopefullysoon - April 6

ANGEL - It's said that ovaries generally takes turns ovulating. However both ovaries will produce eggs from what I understand but only one will release one. So you might just be experiening the growth of the follicles. Hopefully you can get your blood test done this month. I know personally I like the confirmation that I o'd because I can't rely on the opk tests or the bbt fully so I like getting a firm result. But that's just me :)

Babymoon - I used to be the same, get really sad when I find out others (especially close friends) are pregnant, and so easily too! It used to really both me. I find I've done a 180 and want to be around my pregnant friends and their children. I feel like spending time with their kids is filling my void. That being said though doesn't mean I don't still have my bad days well I get upset and sad. I know how you feel :(

O-BABY - YAY FOR OUR LAST DAY OF CLOMID!! My last day was today, one day behind you! We'll start "trying" on monday or tuesday and just keep at it for a week straight (of course with a full 24hrs inbetween each time so his sperm can replenish). That way we don't miss any chance this month! I'm going to start using my opk's on cd12 since the only days I've o'd before were day 13 and day 16. It sucks that out of 4 months on clomid I've only o'd twice. This will be my 3rd month of ovulating so hopefully what they say is true and 3rd times the charm!!

Good luck this month ladies! We are a well deserving bunch and hopefully it doesn't take long to get some good news on here :)

Babymoon - April 7

Angel
I cramp the whole time I'm on clomid, quite sharp too this month I was worried I was going to miss o while dh was overseas, but no surge until cd 15 or 16.

I really don't know what it is this month, but I'm super emotional, just really sad. Could be the missing of the peak surge or could be being surrounded by pg people, could be the drugs, who knows.

Hopefullysoon that's great you now like it, I actually like spending time with my friends who are pg too, maybe it's the problem with social media, I feel like I'm now reminded 100 times a day that I'm not.

I agree I'm really hoping one of us gets a positive this month, it will give me hope that the rest of us aren't far behind!

@ngel - April 7

Hopefullysoon – you are probably right... the pain is gone today though.. just had some really bad nausea today again and especially after flying since I am out of town for the day for work, was a very bumpy flight and I felt sooooo sick... must say not looking forward to morning sickness.. and my mom had it for all 9 month with both of us! Dont think I’ll get the blood test though ? Its ok though, maybe next month.

Babymoon – the pains/cramps are quite bad, and they just seem to catch me when I don’t expect them. REALLY hope one of us gets a bfp... we have to!
