Can't get pregnant

Hello there ladies. I was wondering if somone could give me some advice. My sister has been trying to get pregnant for the past 3 years. She did concieve 2 years back but had a misscarriage. When she started bleeding she went to see the doctor and they did a D&C on her. I believe that is supposed to be something like an abortion. She was about 3 months pregnant at the time. She regrets having had that done because she feels that she was not losing the baby but the doctor still performed that procedure telling her that the baby had died. Ever since then she has been trying but is unable to get pregnant. Her periods are regular and she has been keeping track of her ovulation and everything. Her periods do seem to get delayed though by a week or two sometimes, which leads her to think that she may be pregnant. Last time she was like 10 days over due and she took a urine test at a lab and it told her positive but a few days later she started spotting and then a few days after that she had her period. I was just wondering if there is anything anyone can relate to or help because I am having my first baby (Due June 25th) and she feels that she will never be able to have her own and I don't know how to comfort her. By the way I just thought I might add that we are both married to two brothers and so she feels alot of pressure from our mother-in-law and is very depressed. Thanks alot in advance.

HI. I have read that multiple m/c can be caused by low progesterone. Your sister should be tested. I've never gotten a BFP but have low progesterone. I have been using natural progesterone cream with great results. I hope this helps some.

Hi! I had trouble getting preg for over 2 years. I did get some tests done because I too had a m/c. I had low progesterone. My dr. told me that having low pregesterone is the cause of alot of m/c's. I did some natural hornome replacement therapy and still could not get preg. Finally a friend had told me about a nutritionist who formulates his own herbs and she had taken some to get preg and only took her 2 months. It regulates all your hormones to what they need to be in order to get preg. I called him(nutritionist) and talked to him about my problem and he sent me 2 different types of herbs. I was preg in 2 1/2 months! I know have a healthy son who will be 2 in August! All my friends that have tried it since, have gotten preg within 3 months. I would be more than happy to talk to your sister or you about this. If you want more info you can email me at [email protected].

I don't know a lot about this either, but I have a very good friend with exactly the same symptoms/situation as your sister. She, however, was very proactive and went for many tests. . . got other doctors opinions. . . In the end, they began giving her a hormone that is supposed to help in the implantation (hence the positive tests, and then late "period"- which was really an early miscarraige) Anyway, my friend is pregnant (5 months) and all she had to do was take a hormone supplement right after conception (positive test, late period). I think your sister is conceiving. . . she should get a new doctor, or see a specialist!! You get out there and help your sister!!

I agree with Tessa. If your sister is not on any medication then the only way to recieve a bfp is if she is pg. The bleeding she experienced is an early mc. Please try and get her to see a doctor and ask for medication to help with implantation. I imagine it is very hard for you to be happy for yourself knowing that your sister is struggling with pregnancy. Good luck to both of you.

I just wanted to thank you all for your responses. It really does make me feel better and I am doing as much as I can to help my sister. You guys have really given us alot of hope. Thank you so much. Do you think that age could be an issue as well? She is 20 and I'm 19 but I did not have a problem. She has seen many different doctors and has been offerend the hormone thing and I think she will give that a try now. I know there are alot of options out there so please pray. Thank you all once again. I'll keep you posted :)

Hi s, I too had a d&c almost 5 years ago. I also have pcos which is why I'm having problems ttc, but they also told me that there can be scar tissue that builds up around the cervix. She should see a doctor, especially if she had a positive test, then got her period. Some women do get pregnant, sometimes each month but have early miscarriages. There are tratments available and quite often they are simple. With help with implantation, she should conceive easily. Unfortunately, it will probably be easier for her to conceive than to heal inside from the d&c. Nothing anyone could say really took the hurt away, but the support and love from my family helped me cope. Having an m/c is bad enough but the d&c is a nightmare. She will get through it with lots of help and support from the family. All the best to you and your sister. Good luck!
