Anyone out there trying to conceive after m/c ? My DH and I are trying ttc our 2nd child after having a m/c in july. How long does it take to get back on a regular cycle?

JA, I had a mc in May and my Dr wanted me to wait until I had 3 normal periods.

JA, sorry for your loss first of all. As BF said, my doctor asked me to wait the same. It gives time for your uterine lining to build back up, and for your body to get back to "normal". (also, I thinks it's an emotional help as well.) I have had two miscarriages in the last year..I have had one normal uneventful pregnancy, my son is almost 6. I had my first m/c was in January 2004 at 5 1/2 weeks, and second January 2005 at 10 1/2 weeks. I did get my first period 5 weeks to the day of my D&C, and have had normal 28 cycles since then, just have not had a "take" yet as far as getting pregnant. Still ttc as of right now! Good luck to you and again, I'm sorry to you and your husband for your loss.

I have had two miscarraiges. One in August 2004 and another this past January. I didn't wait. Doctors have different reasons for making you wait. Some have a physical reason but most of the time it's more of a psychological one. If you feel that you don't want to wait, discuss it with your doctor. As far as how long before you get back to a regular cycle, that is different from woman to woman. Some of us (like me) get right back to it. But at my other forum I have one lady who's been waiting for AF 10 weeks already. Some get perfectly normal cycles, and others have strange cycles (shorter than normal, longer than normal, more spotting than flow, etc.). The biggest thing you need right now is patience. I also want to say I'm very sorry for your loss.

Thank you all for your support. I am also sorry for all of your losses as well. My doctor also told me to wait a few months but didn't state a reason why? I am going to try anyway. I am thinking that it won't happen right away so it can't hurt to try. It's so strange I wasn't even trying to get pregnant but when I found out I was so happy. When I m/c I was in denial that this could happen to me. Did you ladies feel this way also?

I don't think any of us expected it to happen to us. I should have given my age but I had hoped that it wouldn't happen to me. It's very hard. But not insurmountable!

JA. I'm sorry for your loss. I had a m/c in May. My doctor actually told me that we could start trying again right away. I have heard you don't have AF for 6 weeks but mine arrived on it's normal schedule. Baby dust for the future.
