Hello all, I just thought I would start a thread for anyone scheduled to have IUI this month. I just had my first IUI on June 13th with no luck. My RE is putting me on clomid with an ovidrel injection before my IUI. I have a luteal phase defect which isn't long enough to support implantation on my egg. So the dr. is hoping the clomid with help regulate this. I am taking days 3-7 on clomid with my first pill taken yesterday. I have a scheduled u/s next monday. How about everyone else??

Hey, hopefully you won't have to join this thread this month! I just started taking Clomid days 3-7 yesterday. So far I have been exepiencing a little dizzyness. Is that common?? I am very optimistic this month. Just a little nervous about the whole multiple birth thing. Ya know what I mean? Well I'm off to a meeting. Talk to you tomorrow!

slowpoke01 - June 27

yeah i think dizziness is a side effect and dont stress about the multiple birth thing cause it only increase your chances like 6% which isnt much

hey,I took clomid cd3-7.Just took ovidrel on Jun 23rd.Had IUI sun morn jun 25th.
Ultrasound showed 7 follicles of which 4 were really good. It is 2days past iui and i dont feel any different.I dont know how i am supposed to feel.

whynotme - June 27

(jyot) I really don't know how you are supposed to feel. I think that everyone around here has been different. Some women have cramping for the whole 2WW and some women don't feel any different. Just try to relax and not stress about it. That's great that you had so many good follies.Did you have to give yourself? Or did DH give it to you? I am so afraid of the shot! I am not afraid of nurses or dr.'s giving them to me, just doing it myself. Tell me about the whole experience on clomid. What day did you have to use the trigger shot? Did your doctor monitor you the whole time?

jyot - June 27

whynotme,i took clomid cd3-7.Just had mild cramps on either side on just the first two days on it. cramps were nothing like I ever experienced before(unlike ovulation pain).the other three days, nothing.I felt hot all the time on it . I went in for ultrasound and blood test on cd12 which is when they saw the follicles.BTW,I was on 100mg clomid per day. I gave the shot myself on the night of CD12. DH would not want to give it. The prefilled ovidrel syringe is very easy to administer.short needle and in a split second you are done. I know how it feels to be poking yourself but it isn't that bad. Think about the pregnancy it is going to bring and that'll make it easy .I hope that helps. The good follicles were about 20-22 mm in size, therefore he wanted me to take the shot right away even though it was only the 12thday.But if they are not happy with the size ,then they would have done a second US and blood work in two days and then planned for IUI. I had the IUI on the morning of 14th day .Moderate cramping after and light spotting. We BD right afetr IUI and the day after IUI. I dont feel anything now which is kinda frustrating.I guess I should stop looking for signs and live out these two weeks.sorry about the book i just wrote.but, good luck to you.what day you on?

I just started taking my first cycle of clomid days 3-7 on Sunday. So I have only taken 2 doses so far. I have been having the strangest dreams and sleeping very heavy at night. Geesh! I have an u/s scheduled on day 11 and I guess go from there. The ovidrel that I got isn't in a syringe already. The medicine is in the vial and I have to fill the syringe. I wish that I had the already filled one! What day is you 2WW up??

Anna B. - June 27

Hi! Hope I can join in. I'm on my 6th round of clomid and this month we are going to try the IUI. We also just found out that dh has a low count on his SA so he's going to a urologist to make sure everything is okay with him. I really hope it works this month b/c if not I have to start going to an RE and I really like my doctor (OBGYN) right now. One question for anyone who has had an IUI . . . do you schedule the IUI for the day you get a positive opk or the day after? I'm trying to figure it out b/c unfortunately I think I'm suppose to ovulate on July 4th and the office is closed for the holiday. Thanks!

whynotme - June 27

Welcome Anna! I just had my first IUI last month and they way it works is the day you test postive on your OPK you call your doctor and they schedule the IUI for the next day. If they are using DH's fresh sperm then he will go in first and they will wash it and prepare it to do the IUI. I hope that everything works out with the S/A. Don't worry about seeing a RE because they tend to be more aggressive with getting preggo. I think it's because they have more resources available to them. I love my RE!

hailie - June 27

Hi girls, I'd like to join this thread also...this is my 2nd cycle of clomid/ovidrel/iui...i had an u/s on day 14 with only one good follicle (other was borderline) and did the trigger shot that night and had iui's on day 15 and day 16. today is day 21 for me. not feeling anything though. on day 19 i tested and got a positive (but thats from the trigger shot) and tested again this morning and it's negative (meaning hcg from shot should be out of my system)...the next time I test should tell me if i am preggers or not...best of luck to everyone!

whynotme, the 2ww will fall on the 9th july. They wanted to do a blood test but i wont be in town so i'll have to make do with a HPT an do it when i get back(hopefully Af will not show before that). Is this your first round on clomid also?just hang in there and hope you'll have some food follicles on day 11.
and hailie how many cycles of clomid have you done and what dosage?I dont feel any different either.I am 2dpiui.too early ,iguess.

hailie - June 27

this is my second cycle of clomid, both cycles were 50mg for day 3-7. last cycle i had 3 follicles, 2 matured and 1 borderline so thats why my ob kept me on the same dosage. hmm, my coworker just came by with her leftovers for lunch and that made me nauseous (but I couldnt tell her to go away since no one knows about me trying)...is that a sign, or am i just paranoid?

jyot - June 27

hailie,i think thats a definite sign.especially since you are almost through your luteal phase.fingers crossed for you.i hope it works and that will give me so much encouragement.and seems lie you had IUI on two days which is a plus.

whynotme - June 27

Hallie, hopefully that's a sign, but know how us women are??? I don't think I have ever been so intouch with my body in my life. LOL!
Ya know, I just realized that I meant to title this thread Anyone doing IUI in July. But it's ok, because as long as there are people in here to talk to, it's all good!

hailie - June 27

What are most people's reason for doing IUIs here? I had tested done on me and so far everything is normal. My hubby had his SA and unfortunately his motility is really slow so thats why we resorted to IUI.

whynotme - June 27

My husband has and unexplained "zero" sperm count. Therefore, after years of considering options, we decided together to use a sperm donor. At first it was hard to wrap my head around, but we really feel that it is a blessing that there are donors out there and technology is where it is. We really want a baby together.
