Hi Toni! Good luck with your u/s on Thursday. I'm sure everything will be fine. :o) How neat that you teach dance for a living! That should keep you in pretty good shape on into your 80s. As for symptoms, I don't bother thinking that anything is a possible pregnancy symptom anymore. When we first started ttc, every month there was some new "symptom" that would make me sure that I was finally pg. Alas, here I sit! I am much wiser now, and have had most all of the symptoms anyway. I marvel at those women who somehow 'know' that they are pg from the moment of conception, and wind up right. I think it might be more that they are lucky enough to get pg as soon as they start ttc. Sure do wish for the day that we can discuss symptoms of pg!! Oh I want that soooo badly. Well, dh is gone on business for a month. He left this morning. If I am not pg this month, I will have to wait until October. The doc told me to continue taking all my meds (except the clomid, of course) through next cycle if I am not pg. That will keep my pcos under control, and ready for ttc the following month.

Hi Toni! How was your u/s??

Toni - September 10

Kelly, Hi! My u/s went fine but I am going back today (Sat) because it was not quite ready. So hopefully today the follicle will be ready and then I am getting a shot of whatever hormone that is that makes you ovulate. That was an expensive shot to buy! $81!!! I had to buy it and then bring it today. So more info later! Now what I want to know is have you taken a hpt?????.....Toni

KellyN - September 11

Okay, so I have to know how the u/s went yesterday? Did your follicle get big enough? Yes, the shot is an hcg shot. It is the same stuff detected by the hpts, so you won't be able to take a test for about 2 weeks. I made the mistake of taking a test 8 days after the hpt and got a false positive, got all excited then someone on this board had to tell me it wasn't real. What a dissapointment. Well, I have been taking hpts except for the last couple of days. They were all negative, and my temp went down and I started pre-af spotting. But now I'm 17 dpo and af is still not here. I wondered if it was because of the prometrium, so I didn't take it last night, and still af never started today, just some very light pink creamy stuff. I'll take another hpt tomorrow if its still not here. 17 dpo is too late for implantation bleeding isn't it?

Toni - September 12

Hey Kelly, The u/s went ok. It still wasn't quite big enough (day 14) so they told me to give myself the shot on Sunday. So I did and tonight we are supposed to try bd. I am also going to try the Pre-seed lube. I don't think I have the right cm a lot of the time. Have you tried that? 17 dpo is more than usual but I know my prog. sup.s made my cycle go longer. Can you get a blood test to make sure? I am sorry you are getting the bfn, I know it must be frustrating with you dh out of town. Would they ever freeze his sperm so you could do an IUI when he is gone? Maybe I am just reaching there! I had not even thought about my shot giving me a false positive! Now I will be unsure if I ever get one. So you think after 2 weeks exactly you can get an accurate result? Hang in there, I just know it will work out!....Toni

KellyN - September 13

Hey Toni! I can't believe they made you give yourself the shot - youch! I'm so scared of needles, I don't think I could have done it. I looked into the time it would take to get the shot out of your system and depending on the dose it will be gone in 7, 10 or 14 days. Most people tell you to wait 14 days just to be sure. Last month I bought a bunch of dollar store tests and after I got my first false positive I took a test every day just to watch it fade (and hoped it would get stronger). It was all gone by about day 12. I've never used pre seed, but I have been thinking about it. I have been thinking my cm was not good. Especially on the clomid - I dry right up! Well, I have a month off now, so it will be kind of nice not to take clomid this month. Doc still wants me to take the avandia and prenatals, though, to keep my system on a positive trend at stopping the pcos. Let me know what symptoms you are having? With all the meds, most of my symptoms were the week after o, then went away during the second week. I'll be curious if you get the same.

Toni - September 13

Hi Kelly, Thanks for the info on the injection. I had just posted that question before I checked for your response! Is the avandia for your pcos? If you are not using IUI, you should check into the pre seed. The success stories on their website (and a posting from here) made me a believer. What kind of symptoms did you have after O? I am going Friday for blood work to see If I ovulated. So I guess you are on hold for this month? This summer I traveled to where my husband was just to bd! I hate to miss a window! I know you must be frustrated that he is gone but glad not to take the meds. Before you got on clomid, did the dr say you were not ovulating on your own?................Toni

KellyN - September 14

Hey Toni! After o I was very bloated and kept getting twinges in my ovaries and tubes area. Mostly on just one side (right side). Also kind of tired from the prometrium. Yes, avandia is for the pcos. Most people take metamorphin, but my doc likes avandia for some reason. I can't wait for dh to get back. The house is empty without him. I would travel to him (thought about it a lot), but I will o right before I leave for the back packing trip, and I don't have enough vacation time from work. I've just come to terms with it, though. I think I will try the pre seed next month. Have you tried robitussin to see if that works? I've been meaning to try it but haven't heard a lot about it, just that it loosens up the cm. Well, good luck this week with your blood test!! I can't wait to hear if you ovulated or not!! How exciting. BTW, the doc told me I did ovulate, but not regularly (not every month). Let me know when you hear about your blood test.

Toni - September 14

Hey there Kelly! So you are going back packing? With the dh? I have thought about doing the Robitussen too. But now I have an appt with a fertiltiy dr on the 28th so I think I will see what she says. So far I haven't really felt anything but some small twinges the next day after the shot. I start prog. tonight. All of the waiting is very hard! Sometimes I feel like stopping but I know I will do whatever it takes to get preg. Of course I am dreading when it's time to start hpt. I'm so pessimistic when I take those! But then I get hopeful when the dr tries something new.. Have you read about follitism (sp?)? Sounds like that is a good one but $$$. I am worried that if I get to clomid I will be a basket case! What kind of work do you do?...........Toni

KellyN - September 16

Hey Toni! You sound just like me... pesimistic when taking hpt. I don't think I will believe it when that second line finally shows up! I'll be one of those women who won't believe it until the doctor actually tells me. I'm doing the backpacking trip with my Mom. It worked out that dh is out of town for this entire month, so its kind of a good time to do something like this. Gives me something to think about this month besides missing dh. So, did you feel ovulation this month?? Ever since I've been on the meds, my ovulation has been pretty painful. I have heard of Femera, but it is pricy! My doc says I'm responding well to the clomid, so I'm going to stick with that for now. He says surgery is the next step (to look for endo), but I sure don't want to go that route!

KellyN - September 16

P.S. So are you feeling any symptoms yet?

Toni - September 18

Hi Kelly, I did not feel ovulation but I have felt twinges etc. since then. I find out tomorrow if my blood work shows that I ovulated or not.
What day do you start clomid on? I think that might be my next step. I want to make sure my appt is when I will have time to start that. Hope you have fun on your trip!.....Toni

KellyN - September 21

Hey Toni! Sorry its been so long, I spent the last three days at home packing for the trip. Will be leaving on Friday, so will be away for a week starting then. From my calculations, my next af should start around October 10th. The doc will put me on clomid on the 12th through the 16th.

Toni - September 21

Kelly- Hope you have fun on your trip! My blood test said I had a prog. level of 32.2 so they think I ovulated. I am supposed to take a test on Tuesday (if af don't beat me to it!). I guess we will have more to talk about after you get back! Have fun!!!

KellyN - September 22

Good luck, Toni! Hope you get to take your test on Tuesday. I'll look forward to reading this thread when I get back. My doc said my progesterone level this time was around 140, so I definitely ovulated! I keep expecting a great big af flow with the progesterone that high, but its still about the same - two days of 'flow' and the rest all spotting. Do you know of any other reason my uterus lining may not be thickening up properly?

Toni - September 23

Hey Kelly, Did you have a u/s to measure the lining? My first month on the prog. I had a period that was not as heavy as I was expecting either. But at my u/s they said my lining was the right thickness. Have fun on your trip. I hope I have something interesting to report when you get back. We are preparing for the storms hurricane Rita is supposed to bring. That is my entire weekend plan! Fun huh? Be careful, Toni
