Hi all,
This is my first cycle on Femara I just had my ultrasound. I went back today because friday my follicle was only 12mm and they said it was too small and to come back monday and I'd get the shot then but they told me today
( day 16) I already ovulated! I could hardly believe it. I ovulated on my own over the weekend I guess. I'm so stunned. I didn't know that could happen if you were on the medication I thought you had to get the shot. I guess the Femara worked really well or something and my body responded well to it afterall. Only thing is I forgot to ask the dr. does that mean my egg might have been too small still when I ovulated? Or did it grow enough and my body just knew it was big enough and let it go? I am just so surprised but I'm praying for the best I will know in 2 weeks either way :) Good luck everyone!

I just started Femara today. I am nervous. I need some advice. I was on clomid for 2 cycles. The side effects suck. I was on 50 mg of clomid for cd 5-9. The first cycle on clomid was 36 days long. Second cycle was 33 days long.
My question is what day should I go in for an US? CD 16 or 17?I am confused.

Hi Lucky. I took Femara cd5-9 and my doctor had me go in for an u/s at cd12. When you go in for your u/s is determined by when you took the Femara and your doctor's advice. Did your doctor not give you a time to go in for an u/s?

Hi Ginger - I am taking Femara on cd 3-8. He said go in on cd16. Does that sound right? My last cycle was 33 days long. Anyone else feel free to give their opinion. Thanks & Baby Dust!

Hello everyone! I am back after a long wait. My cycle lasted 78 days and I believe it would still be going if I had not did what I did. Well, let me tell you what I did...ok my grandfather passed on the Oct. 8th we had his funeral Oct. 14th. That was cd75 for me and I was feeling so sad because I wanted to have his first great-grandchild. I had wanted my child to know him like I did. Well I decided to go ahead and take the fermera without AF. And guess what it came on the day of my 5th dose. Now I don't know how I am going to tell my Dr that I went ahead and took the pills. And I am not sure which day to go get my U/S. I think I will go 5 days after my last fermera dose to check the size of the beanies. Look at what I have gotten myself into... :-) oh well it is what it is, and don't try this at home. ***BabyDust*** to all!!!

How's everyone doing?? We are taking some time off. It was soooo discouraging that the IUI didn't work. Especially since AF was late. That stunk!! I'm taking Vitex and putting it in Gods hands for now. It was totally stressing me out. It made it no fun.

Hi Ladies... Sorry I haven't responded in so long. My last U/S and B/W showed no progression and actually a few more very small follicles which are likely just cysts. I am so discouraged since this cycle I took a big dose of Femara... 10mgCD3-7. I go back to see my doctor on December 8th. So I guess I just hang out and wait until then. Good luck to everyone else. Femara works for lots of women, just apparently not me. Skeeter, keep us posted on whether or not you think the Vitex is working!

So glad to join this Femara support group. I just started on Femara this cycle (2 pills CD 3-7). Strange thing is I did a daily OPKs from days 12-24 and nothing came out positive, except today my doctor confirmed I did ovulate (two follicles ruptured) this month and think I may be pg. I am on CD24, crossing fingers...Doc says there is a strong possibility for twins, who knows. What does everyone else do here when they think they might be pg? I'm supposed to take 1 baby aspirin daily plus stay on Metformin and Levothyroxin. Is there anything else (natural? herbs?) that people recommend?

Hello ladies! I went to the Dr. Wed. and had my u/s I have two lead follies @ 8mm and 9mm on cd8 or if you start counting from the time I started taking the femera it was cd11. I know those numbers need to reach 18+mm but I am happy because last cycle at cd12 I was only at 2.5mm. So this time things are looking up. BTW I didn't tell the Dr what I did. I go back Mon. for another u/s maybe I will be able to get it out then. dgoove- I say you should only take what your Dr said is ok. Don't just start taking herbs and other stuff. Look at me, I did something I should not have and now I am in a pickle . GoodLuck

Sorry for not being around lately just going through one thing after the next, but it kind of all good. I just wanted to let you all know what was going on with me when I found out I was pregnant my cycle started on june 28th 2006 and I took femara days 3-5 aand went in for a vaginal u/s i think on day 12 or 13 and I had two folicles one on the left and one on the right measured 12mm each and my doctor said that was fine but I was disappointed,anyways and on august 9th I still did not have a period and took a pregnancy test and it was BFN and on aug 10th I started provera for five days and on august 25th I woke up with severe pain on the left side of my tummy and I could not even use the bathroom b/c of the pain anyways later that day I started spotting and called my doctor to let them know and I was suppose to start my 5th rounfd of femara on the 29th but the spotting continued until monday and I decided to take another pregnancy test and to my surprise it was BFP and to top it all off it was my birthday so it was the best birthday present ever, However the next day I went in for a doctors visit I was concerned b/c I took provera to have a period and I told the doctor and he said believe it or not the provera helped me get pregnant b/c it is a progestrone but he wanted me to do some tests to make sure everything was ok b/c of the pain in my tummy . That following night I I started bleeding and I thought I was having M/C I went in for another visit a couple of days later did an u/s and it showed nothing in my uterus but BW showed I was still pregnant but the levels had dropped did more blood work and the levels was up again the bleeding had also stoped as well. A week later I started spotting and it was a purpleish colour this time went in for another U/S and found out that the was an ectopic pregnancy and had to go to the hospital right away and they gave me methotrexate to disolve the pregnancy I was hurt and very disappointed but now about six weeks later me and dh are doing great we are just happy that I was able to concieve. I have to have two periods before we start trying again so I am now on day 15 of my second cycle before we start trying again. But just to let you guys know the only thing I did that month was not do the charting and not stress alot and maybe b/c of me relaxing anf not worry about it it happened. lots and lots Babydust to you all

Samantha, I am so sorry. I'm glad to hear that you're doing alright. My dr. told me that he thinks I'll get pg after we move. I am moving to Aurora, CO Dec. 3. Dr thinks that the stress of trying to find a job in CO and all the other BS that goes along with ttc is why we haven't had a BFP. Good luck everyone!!! Babydust by the tons to all.

I think your doctor is right b/c I was working and I quit on july 25th and august 28th I found out I was pregnant so it has alot to do with stress as well I stopped all the ovulation testing and charting and everything so just relax and it will happen.I just found another job and it is great and I am not stressed at all and I am not worried about getting pregnant again I know it will happen when the time is right . Good luck and do not stress at all I know it is easier said than done but try.

Hi everyone I have good news to share and I pray you all will soon too.

After I found out I had ovulated on my own on my 1st cycle of femara I took a home Preg test about 2 weeks later and it was positive! My dr. sent me for two blood tests to confirm the levels of HCG are rising and they are! I was only on 2.5mg of the Femara and it was my first cycle after 2 on clomid. I know God is at work and I'm so happy. Just wanted you all to know it can happen Best wishes!!

Bren81 - Congrats!!! That is awesome!! Please tell me what days you took Femara on. Like you I did 2 cycles on Clomid & switched to Femara 5 mg cd 3-7. I went in on cd 11 for an ultrasound on CD 11 and I had one follie on the right that measured 19 mm. I did the trigger shot on cd13 and should have ovulated on cd 14. Please let me know what you did. Thanks!

Lucky717- I took 2.5mg Femara CD 2-6 I loved how there werent any side effects llike on the clomid. On CD 12 a Thursday I went in for an ultrasound and there was a bunch of tiny follicles on the left and 1 big one on the right but it was only 12mm And the DR. Said my uterine lining looked excellent. they sent me home and I went back CD 16 to see if the follicle had gotten big enough to take the HCG Shot I could feel this weird burning sensation on my right side and there were no follicles anymore and just a sack of fluid where the big one was the nurse said that meant I had already ovulated over the weekend. I was a little scared because I had only had sex on Friday and she was telling me this on Monday. I wasn't expecting to have ovulated or I probably would have had sex on sat or sun too. But I calculated my due date and I got pregnant on Sunday from the sex we had on friday I was also taking a baby aspirin and prenatal vitamins daily before concieving too because of recurrent miscarriages due to blood clotting. Now Im also on an additional blood thinner called Heparin twice a day. I just know that God made this happen who'd of guessed I'd spontaneously ovulate like that? I hope that helps. Best wishes.
