Wow Robyn thats great news. You must be very strong to be so supportive with all you have to go through ttc. I am assuming they were trying or this was just lucky? Oh in regards to your question earlier about protocol with cryo sperm, we never did it, never got mentioned. Dh has never had a problem and we are doing icsi so if for some reason he cant produce say 10 spermies we are in real trouble so I've not requested dh do it. I dont have to worry about him being out of town as he doesnt travel (except of course with me!!)

Isa, now I know how you felt, reading your past entries. I hope someone tells me what’s going on here with my body, and if I need to cancel. I hate waiting. If the Dr. thinks I should cancel, he should just come out and tell me. I would rather start over again too, if it’s going to give me a better chance. Honestly I don’t think this is going to work for me. Anyways, I hope you “o” soon, this is getting crazy….I feel for you. I think I saw the pbs show your talking about, was it on Sunday. I have it taped, but only caught the last bit, I need to watch it from the beginning though. I don’t remember what it was called, but the title sounds familiar. Robyn, congratulation on your sister’s news. I totally understand how you feel. My sister to told me she was expecting her second child 10 months ago….after already having a first girl (now 2)…well I was so happy for her, you’d never imagine. Today she has been blessed with her second daughter, and I can’t get enough of her…I was actually there tonight holding that precious little thing. I’m not jealous at all, but happy she doesn’t’ have to experience what I am going through. I’m glad your hubby doesn’t have to travel to much…but because mine is in the travel business…its life! I don’t mind, I don’t pay for anything when I want to go on vacation…that’s my perk. Thanks for your support.

life -dont fred I thought we got you calmed down. cd6 is way to early to determine unless you have nothing growing. Mine dont count follies until they get to 10mm (1cm) so you may have others. Wait and see what happens on cd8. If like me you are over suppressed its an easy thing to fix next time but for this time calm down and lets see what Thursday brings. Oh by the way I am jelous you travel for free. I measure everything i spend on how much of a trip it is (ie: does it cost the same as a trip, 1/2 a trip, 1/4 of a trip -I love to travel). The amount I sink into each ivf cycle = so many trips it makes me sick. Right now I'm dying b/c i cant plan a winter vac yet b/c i dont know where I will be in my cycling or my pregnancy if it happens to work and we are going to have to pay thru the nose b/c we waited. Dh wanted to book in June when it was way cheaper where we wanted to go and i said no and its about 3000 more to go same place for same time period. IT sucks!

oh by the way the pbs i was talking about was on pbs on monday night but maybe they played it sunday too.

Hey ladies. Wow, I missed a lot of posts last night. JenG--I loved your post relaying your DH's role, rescue damsel in distress & by Act 3, football time! Too funny! So how'd the Lupron in your tummy work last night? Do you like it better that way? Life--Like Isa's clinic, mine also won't count follies under 10 mm, & really day 6 is considered a bit early in the process. There's always going to be fear in this whole thing, that's natural. But really a lot can happen from CD 6 to CD 8 of stims. A lot! Do you have time for a massage or something of that nature? Could do a world of good for you. We're all pulling for you & your follies. Hang in there. By the way, wow, your DH has such a COOL job though. Free vacations--can't beat that perk. Good luck tomorrow. Isa--I like your counting economic scale, 1/2 a trip, 1/4 a trip, too funny. I heard about the IVF documentary. I didn't get to see it on Monday but I did click onto the PBS.org website to find out more about it. Read the IVF history timeline, very interesting. And thanks for the full bladder tip. I've really only done the full bladder u/s once, that was my last tx so I don't know much about them admittedly. I'm grasping at straws I think, willing to try anything different for a different result this time. I didn't know you get it too full. Maybe I'll aim for slightly more full than last time. We'll see. Thanks for sharing that info with me though. I'm sure there's a happy medium somewhere. Robyn--I'd missed your post the 1st time on taking a pic of your DH's sperm cup. Funny! I so agree with you, humor is the best coping technique. And me & my DH both have dark senses of humor, can't imagine what our spawns will be like. :) And that pic is definitely one for the baby book, no?! It's definitely a good idea to have a back up reserve of sperm. We have one but I'd rather not ever use it. Turned out that my DH's next SA shortly after he'd given that sample to freeze was 0% morph, so not exactly primo spermies on file. It's funny though, I'm not sure they charged us for the storage of the sample. I'm sure we'll get socked with the bill sooner or later though. Maybe they'll fold it in with the monthly cyro charge for our embies. No such thing as free sperm storage I'm sure. New cliche. Congrats on your sister's baby news. How exciting! Cmelissa, hope you're doing okay. Got your facial appt. tomorrow, right?!!! Ah bliss. Galina, hope you're doing well too. HeatherP, anything new with you? Okay, well time to get to work now that I wrote a novel length post to rival "War & Peace!" Later ladies.

Hi Ladies, Isa it really sucks when you have such a great opportunity to fly but can't due to "your cycle"....Tell me about it. Since July I have had to cancel 2 trips, change one, and just dream of the others. I haven't done anything to big this summer, due to the fact I had to be around for my IUI. My last trip actually was Disney World, FL. and I was there on my 2ww...so it worked out. Though my butt was so sore from those damn POS I'm still paying the price. We won't be going anywhere now until Christmas and New Years. So I have to get my act together with producing more follies! Mega, getting a massage sounds great, I really need to look into it myself. So I have some good news. A relative of mine, is in labour, her water broke last night at 4am. She is expecting twins. She had ICSI done at my clinic.....Yippie!!!! She had unexplained infertility...had something like 18 or 19 follies retrieved, which resulted to 14 eggs. By the second day she only had 7, (and was devastated). She ended up with 3 embryos on the day of implantion, they implated 2 and had 1 frozen.......and today she is expecting twins!!!!!! I love happy endings. On that note, ladies, all of you, have a wonderful day...!!!!!

Mega I have to have a full bladder u/s every cd3. I'm gettint to be an expert on how much water my bladder holds and actually mine I think is smaller than some. My fear is RE will have more than one transfer on my day and I'll be sitting there full and he only takes the person in front of me. Oh more tips: they say you must have the water in you an hour before it counts b/c that is how long it takes for it to get into your system. ie: if you want to be full by 08:30 you want to have it drunk by 07:30. Anything else you drink after 07:30 will possibly not be in the bladder by 08:30 and this is where some gals end up having way too much in the system b/c they keep drinking and drinking. But, I have figured out my system and it doesnt necessarily have to be in an hour before per se. I get up and pee, have a bowl of cereal with milk, take my morning pills/vitamins etc with water and pee before i leave the house. I have an hours drive in the morning with traffic so i drink an entire small bottle of water (you know the plastiac ones you get in a case of 24) and maybe a bit more on the way to the appt. Say I leave at 7am. If I get in to my appt at 8 or just after I"m full and I'm ready for u/s. If i get there early at say 7:45 I wont be full enough so i wait it out in my car so they dont call me til I"m full. If I am way too full I start cramping up and I"m in pain and it litterally shoots up the sides and up the front of the belly and I have to let some go. They say let the size of a dixie cup out but once you start going its hard to stop when your that full. This is what I have figured out over the last year +. I can count 12 of them that I have done, maybe I missed 1 or 2 but at least 12. ugh!

Hey life I was posting same time as you. My last trip was Europe in the spring/summer with dh. Nothing since then but want to do a Carribean/hot winter vacation. congrats on the twins. Oh just to tell you they don't implant embryos they transfer them. Implanting is what happens when the embryo itself implants into the uterine lining. If they could implant them man, that doctor would make millions. I know they are trying that in the world but I dont think it will actually be a protocol for many years to come. You guys are so much stronger than me. I had a tough time when my cousin had her baby a few months back. I am happy for her but no overly excited like you and Robyn are. I am very jealous when I hear family or friends getting pg or delivering. I told my cuz if she had twins she had to give one to me. She's been pregnant 2x's in the time I've been trying.

Mega - October 25

Life--Wonderful news on your friend's twins. Very exciting. It's esp. exciting to hear success stories from you own clinic. And goes to show you all it takes is 1 (or in your friend's case 2) good embie(s). What day tx did she have? A day 3? Just curious. Thanks for sharing though, always nice to hear success stories. Isa--Wow, you do have A LOT of those suckers. I'm thankful that my practice uses the vaginal u/s normally. Sounds like you have it down to a science. Bladder sizes do differ greatly I think. I know mine is rather small too. Very interesting tip on the whole bladder asorption rate. That differs a bit on what my clinic instructs. They say to empty my bladder before I leave for the hospital--we live about 25 mins. away non-rush hour times--and start "chugging" when I get to the parking lot. I had a 16 oz bottle of H2O with me last time, might get a slightly bigger one for Fri. though. That way I'm not waiting for them with a very painful bladder in case they run late. Mercifully last time they were pretty much on schedule, that was a Tuesday though. Friday might be a different story. Eeeek. I'm like you, I cramp up very easily when I'm full of pee though, so that's not good either. Doesn't it crack you ladies up all the things we actually have to analyze these days? Man! Who knew?!!!

lifequest - October 25

Isa thanks for the heads up on that, I made a mistake...oops! I also spelled implanted wrong...Oh well. So Europe sounds like a nice trip to have done with your dh, before all this started happening.. I'm lucky to not feel any "jealousy" amongst other women...I must say thank God. I'm truely happy for her and excited! Oh, I hate full bladder u/s. My clinic has us do them only on cd 3 too. I just drink 2 small bottles 1/2 a hour prior, once I'm done, I pee...and feel like I have to pee again by the time I get to my car....thats brutel! Mega your right all you need is just 1, but if you start off at such a low number you can't help but be nervous that you won't end up with much in the end to work with..that's all. If I would end up with 3 in the end, I'd be happy. It's quality not quanity I keep telling myself. I would only transfer 2. My friend did the 5 day transfer.

isa - October 25

Mega you're so right how many other women sit and talk about how full their bladders get and how quickly, I'm laughing as i type this. Life glad to know i'm not the only cd3 full bladder gal. Mega we do both full bladder and vag u/s on cd 3 all other days for u/s are the reg. vag u/s (or lighted dildo as I heard it referred to the other day). I kinda liked that name. Dh's have it easy though, i guess unless they have to have the tesa surgery to get the sperm. My dh had a testicular u/s and that is the worst he's had to do. I kinda wish i was on the wall as a fly for that one haha. ok gotta run I've got an appt. talk to ya soon

HI girls...so my friend had her babies...2 boys...with no epidural! Don't know anyother details just yet, but thought I share the great news with all of you.

Mega - October 25

Life--WOW! Twin boys, no epidural. Your friend has my respect on that one. Good for her. And Congrats! to her as well on her double blessing. Isa--Yeah, I've got to say this board is the only place I get a good full bladder conversation. :) Lighted Dildo for the vag u/s contraption, like that moniker. Fits. LOL!!!

isa - October 25

should we start a new thread this one is getting long to download or is it my computer? wow no epidural with twins-hats off!! hope mom and babes are well.

lifequest - October 25
