I have had scattered af all my life, now I am 32. I would get it 2 months and not again for 4 months but it always was different. I do have a 5 year old daughter (my blessing). I have the ovulite home kit (where you use your saliva and wait for it to dry and check it under the light of the miniature microscope it comes with). Ok here is the dilemma--I got the fern like pattern (most fertile) on Sepember 17, 18, 19 and 20. I had the ewcm and the pains in my ovaries and all so we bd'd all of those days. At this point I was hoping I was pregnant but today just for the heck of it I used the Ovulite kit again and I am showing the fern like pattern again --it hasn't even been 2 weeks since the last fern like pattern. Does anyone know anything about this. Please help becasue I am really confused. Thank you

I wish I knew...Ive been using the scope and got a ferning pattern..but my opks have been negative..Im wondering if I am ovulating at all. I posted a similar question over on the General Pregnancy board this morning and someone told me that its not reliable due to ferning being caused by so many other factors, such as salt intake. I didnt know that.

I called Ovulite this morning and he said that I was fertile again and it is proven by Dr.'s that you can be fertile 2 or 3 times in a cycle and even show the fern like pattern with your period and still get pregnant. I told him that I never heard of that before and he said that it was Dr. proven again. I am more confused now then I was before.

I had one of those and I hated it! It could be possible that you had a surge, did not ovulate, and had another surge w/ ovulation. it is not possible to be "fertile" 2 or 3 times in a cycle, unless you release 2 eggs, which normally occurs withing 24 hours of each other, not 2 weeks apart. Have you tried using the opk's as well? I just wouldn't trust just using the saliva. I don't know what else to tell you.
