NEW HOPE AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS-Part 7

Isa- At our clinic after 4 cycles they do not monitor that stuff if it has been consistent every month so that you are not paying as much. They were slightly bigger (one of them) but it had been 3 days from the last u/s and they had me do some meds those days (ecept Monday) and it had only grown 1 mm and it looked like 2 had possibly shrunk. However, they said not to worry about it too much because it could have been that because it was a different person doing the measuring this time they may just measure differently then the RE that did them. I think that is what it is because normally they look and see what angle they get the largest view of each follie but I did not feel like the gal yesterday was doing that. I am not too worried since none of my opk's have been positive and I have never had an lh surge on any of my previous cycles. I have always had to trigger. The NP just felt my follies should have grown more. I don't remember who asked but I am 24. I go in tomorrow for another u/s and they are going to do b/w that time.

Becca fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow to hope they grew some. If you remember last month my cycle went hay wire unlike any other I had had in the past too so I sort of can relate at how frustrating it was. Try and keep calm and relaxed and let whatever happens happens and we're here for you.

Hey ya'll....Becca, I'm hopeful for you...I've been just hanging out waiting for a new cycle to start...Isa, I just turned 35 and my FSH is 16...Yuk!!!!! I have scoliosis and as a teenager I had X-Rays very often (>4X/year), as I was treated by a Chiropractor...I've wondered if that had any bearing on the high FSH...I haven't used drugs or done anything that I think could affect it...I wonder if there is any hope for me...surely there's 1 good egg left??? Good wishes everyone... :)

Becca good luck tomorrow. I asked your age. I thought that you were close to my age. If I remember right that you have been ttc for 4years. I hope that you get some good news.. Hang in there. Baby dust to all...

Tonya dont stress over fsh levels. My doc has also said that it's had more emphasis placed on it than need be by many. It's only a starting point in a whole workup on a woman going through what we're going through. It's only 1 piece of a very large puzzle. We'll never know why we're going through things but we all seem to have our own answers as to what may be our contributors. At 16 yes there is lots of hope for you. It only means you have some (did you hear me some!) diminished egg quality/capacity. Dont fret I'm sure you are fine. I didnt mean to scare anyone, it just means it takes us longer to get pg than with someone with a low number, thats all.

Hey Isa, I know exactly what you're saying and I am holding out hope for that one good one...one of my good friends is a Nurse Practitioner at Texas Children's Hospital and she also struggled with infertility for years and now is so grateful for her daughter who is 5...but she was saying the other day how she is constantly dealing with teenage moms...some of them who have babies born with drug addiction...she was saying how unfair it all is....and I agree...it seems that you're most fertile when you are probably least prepared (emotionally, financially) to handle that amount of responsibility...But I know God has a plan and we will have our sweet babies sometime....Sorry so long...I'm tired and started rambling.....Keep us posted, Becca...Goodnight...

Becky- Yes I have been trying for over 4 years now but only a little over 1 with the RE and really only about 9 cycles due to cysts and having to take some time off, and wierd periods that were not really periods. Anyways, I am heading to my RE apt to have u/s done and they are most likely doing b/w since I am having such a different month. Hope to be able to do IUI soon because this month is really dragging. Since we have to take at least a month off and the RE wants us to just go to IVF I think this may be our last month until we can save up for IVF. I am one of those people who refuses to go in debt for it and also I do not want to use our savings that we are going to use to build a new house and such on it. Stingy maybe but I want to make sure that I am as financially ready as possible when we finally do get pg. I will let you all know how everything went.

Hey Becca any news from your u/s today. Hope all went well.

Becca - March 17

So here is the scoop- the largest follie is still the same size but some of the smaller ones grew. If we are not at mature by Sunday they will cancel the cycle, put me on bcp for 2 weeks and then we will take it from there. We are going to meet with the RE and the financial lady about IVF if that happens because we did get told that people that make under a certain amount get a break in the price for IVF and they think we fit under it. Also, they will go ahead and bill my ins for the u/s since they have been paying on them under PCOS and anovalatory (I think that is the word-no periods) so that they will not have to put that in the over all price. It will still be a while before we are able to do that if it comes down to it but it does make it a little better. I will let you all know on Sunday.

Becky - March 17

Becca sorry to hear the follicles not big enough yet. I hope that they grow for you by Sunday. Isa when is your test day. How's the pg ladies doing. Lee anymore news on Hope.

Becca - March 17

Good morning! How is everyone today? Yesterday I was pretty depressed about my follies but today I am ok with it. I figure if I don't make my "deadline" to have mature ones it is for the best so that they can give me some bcp to level out my hormones. But hopefully they will grow and be ready. My cousin just found out she was pg. She said she basically had the same thing. She got put on metformin, like me, for insulin reasons. Then they did a month of straight injections with lots of eggs, then they did one where they grew really slow and were not mature until cd26 and then she went on bcp for a month due to a cyst. She talked her RE into going back to clomid plus injections since she was on metformin, her regular doctor told her the clomid normally reacts better with the clomid and since like me her lining was always thin no matter what, she should see if they would try it and they did and she got pg. I will talk to my RE about that on Sunday.

HI Becca, glad you're feeling better today. It is such a strain on our bodies to deal with each blow we get but you are handling it very well esp. with your cousin just getting pg. I too have a cousin 2x's pregnant since I've been trying and its hard but I am so happy for her being able to have her family. I'm hoping mine has already started.

Lee - March 18

Becca-Good luck with the doc tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you......Hello All.
