Life After IUI 3

Cristina....do you have good news for us? I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat until you post. Ann, this was my very last IUI try. If it doesn't work, I'll go and see an RE next month after we return from holiday, and hear what he has to say. But I would really like to start ivf as soon as possible. I don't want to waste any time. We get our annual bonusses in March, and between me and dh, we hope we get enough to at least cover half of the ivf. We've saved up for the rest. But hopefully all that won't be necessary. (I'm trying to have only positive thoughts this time around). Nata, I'm so glad that you can start your cycle at last. Good luck with the injectables! Elyse, so you'll be testing on Monday morning? If I can hold out, I'll test on 2/22 which would be 12 dpo. I hope we both will have good results.

Hi all - not a lot of time right now - just wanted to let you know I went for progesterone b/w this morning - fingers crossed for a high #. Last time I had a 19 and a BFN soon after.

Elyse, I'm waiting to get the good news! Good luck! BTW, did you test at home as well?

Ann, I don't know. At the time, the number of follicles didn't mean much for me but I remember my dr saying that it all looked great. On my second cycle... you won't believe it! Do you remember that I had lots of pain b/c of the overstimulation? Well, I had about nine good follicles - that's why the dr lowered my dosage for this third cycle.

Elizabeth, how many IUI have you done? (you might have said that before... sorry). Hopefully it will work this time and you won't need IVF. We will find out on 2/22, right? I have my fingers crossed for you. Does you insurance cover anything or you would have to pay IVF on your own? If you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost? I'm a little concerned about the money issue. I have about 2-3 IUI and 1 IVF left. If I don't get pregnant before that, I'll be on my own b/c the insurance won't pay anything at all. I'm really scared and I know I should be relaxed, specially during the cycle.

Nata, you had nine follicles that would release an egg?? And your dr still did your iui???

Nata - February 16

Cristina, how are you? I hope you have good news. Again, GOOD LUCK!

Nata - February 16

Yes. Well, I believe they were not all so great... and that's why my dr did the IUI. On the first cycle my dosage was 75. I guess it was not so good. On the second cycle my dosage was 125 (but she lowered to 100 in the end). On this third cycle it will be 100. What do you think?

Nata - February 16

Ann, I posted last message for you.

Ann - February 16

Nat, Whew, I was going to say--9 is sort of dangerous for an iui! I think my dr will only do an iui if 4 follies are ripe. 100 sounds like your happy medium. Did you start your shots?

Nata - February 16

Ann, I sorry for the confusion. I guess the answer for you question was "no". I don't believe all nine follicles would release an egg (b/c I think they their sizes were very different). All I hope is that I have about four eggs this third cycle - all in good sizes.

Ann, I'm going to start the shots tonight. That means 2ww might start in about 12-14 days. When does your 2ww start? Any idea? I wish we could be together on that.

Ann - February 16

Nata, I hope for 3 eggs and 2 to take hold!! I have to take the BCPs for 2 weeks and then they start the stimulation (I just figured out how the timing works yesterday), so unfortunately I will be off with you. I think I will be getting iui about the time you are getting your BFP!! Basically, I have to take 2 weeks off.

Nata - February 16

Ann, so I guess you will be getting BFP ten days after I get mine. LOL. Let's be positive!

Hi - dropped home to get my tax papers and running out to drop them off at the accountant. no pg test at home yet, I need to wait a few more days - I am only 8 dpo today.

Ann - February 16

Nata, I agree. I am feeling positive now, too. I am just wishing for af to arrive at this point (another BFN this morn). By the way, my mail pharmacy called and Follistim was on the list of meds, but I don't know why (first I've heard that I will be taking it). My RE's office...I am glad you are starting your shots tonight!
