Hi everyone--I am new to this site as well as to the "wonderful world" of infertility. I'm apologizing in advance for not using acronyms--did I mention I'm new? =)

We had our first IUI on June 4 after taking Clomid days 3-7, Menopur days 8-9 and then Ovidrel on day 10 (one and only IUI happened on day 11). After all the necessary tests and such, we were diagnosed with Unexplained Infertility. Doctor said everything checked out and that we were one of his "easier" cases. (My husband is 35 and I'm 31, both with no children.) Our doctor decided to go straight to couple chlomid with injections b/c our insurance currently covers all our infertility treatments. During the time of insemination, I had one mature follicle at 20 and the other at 13.

The only "problems" we've encountered through this process is that we had to delay our first cycle b/c I had a small cyst on one of my ovaries (or was it a fallopian tube? Wow, I don't remember.) Also, during the insemination, our doctor was having difficulty getting the catheter in as my cervix is apparently really posterior (?).

It may be explained somewhere on this thread/ site, but has anyone had a similar situation as ours and had success with IUI? (Well, knowing this minimal amount of our "history.")

I know I just need to relax and be patient, but I took a "First Response" test today (I know, quite premature) and not even a faint second line appeared. How much longer do I have to wait?

Thank you for reading and the BEST of luck to us all!!!

Hello all, so I found this forum recently and read the whole thing start to finish, amazing. This has definitely helped me get through my 2WW for sure!
I am 28, my DH is 38. We have been trying for about nine months total. First I found out I was not ovulating so my doctor put me on clomid 50mg, then 100mg, then 150mg. I was getting follies but nothing big enough, it was such a let down every month not even being able to try!
So then onto a RE where I just had my first IUI with injectables, Follistem and an HCG shot on June 23rd. so now I am on day 10piui and I feel like I have a lot of weird stuff going on, but I have been attributing it to the HCG shot I had, trying not to get to excited. I had four follies, and I am really hoping for my BFP... fingers crossed, baby dust to all :)

Erin3015 - July 6

Well, I can't contain my excitement! I tested yesterday and today both BFP!!! I can't believe the IUI worked the first time! Tomorrow I going to the RE for blood test, and to check my levels, fingers crossed they are good. Keep your faith...

Hello all ive been on here once before but after my last discussion me and my hubby had changed our plans and tried on our own a little bit longer. (no success) so im going in for my first IUI in 7 days im also on clomid 50mg and my hubby is on fertalaid for 3 months now because he has an extreamly low count. Were 23 and 25 and didnt think it would be this hard. Weve been tryng for a year and 4 months and are getting a lil depressed and are nervouse the IUI wont work. can anybody share what they may think about our situation maybe somebody has been in a situation like this and can give me some positive feed back or anything at all to ease our minds. Thank you so much! ~baby dust to all [3

Hi,

This is my first time writing in this forum. I promised myself that once i got my test result i would share my story.
Hubby and I had been trying to get pregnant for bout 2 years unsuccessfully. We had been to three different doctors for test and each time they told us every thing was fine and that we should give it time'You are still young' they would say. Hubby and I are both 29 and we wanted our first kid by 30.

We finally decided to look into fertility treatment. On the 1st and again on the 2nd of July I had my IUI. I had had Clomid from day 3 to 5 of my cycle and then the loooooooooonnnnnnnngggggg 2 weeks wait commence. It was the hardest two weeks ever, i went from looking at my bust in the mirror every morning to see if it was growing, to counting how often i was going to pee. On hind sight it was kind of funny. Today i finally went back to the clinic and as i waited for my result i was trying to comfort myself by telling myself, if it didnt work we could try again. When i was called into the doctors office and she looked at me for a second, felt like an hour. She said 'CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE PREGNANT' i just could not believe it. This was at 9am this morning, its now 5pm and its just sinking in. Good luck to you all, it can work. Im praying for you all.

Quick update! 5 weeks today and feeling good, going for an ultrasound next week, fingers crossed everything goes well.
I hope all you other future moms out there are holding strong. There were so many times I thought about giving up. Keep trying!!! Don't be afraid to try something new or different. Also I also tried to stop worrying all the time, I tried to focus and truly believe that whatever happens is meant to be. If we didn't get pregnant we would simply try again. It's not easy, but I think the positive state of mind helped on some level.
Also don't be afraid to do your own research and talk to people. If I had done this sooner I would have gone to my RE months before my doctor finally referred me. I realized my GYN although great, does not specialize in infertility. I got pregnant the first month and the RE.
Read as much as you can. This will help educated you as well as make you feel as though your actually doing something to help you get pregnant. It can also help you pinpoint what some of the things are that are preventing you from getting pregnant as well.
Passthedust23- The sample we got was only 6.8 million and we got pregnant, I've heard some people doing two sperm iui's in one month to up chances, baby dust to you, think positive!

Prayers, and positive thoughts to all you future moms out there. xoxo

Hello,

To all you soon to be mom's... I wanted to share my story in hope it helps someone. I'm 28 and my husband is 28. We have been trying for 7 years and come to find out he has no mobile sperm. So we were left with 2 options use donor sperm or IVF. As IVF can get very costly we went with the IUI and donor sperm. I just took my at home pregnancy test and it is positive :) I took clomid days 3-5 and the ovidrel shot the day I detected a LH surge. The next day 7/9 I went in for my IUI. It was my first time and I only used 1 vial. After wards I had some pretty bad cramps. I talked to my doctor and he said that is good because that is a sign I did ovulate. My two weeks have been so long and it feel like you cant think of any thing else. If you know your body as well as I do you know how it feels when your about to start. The last part of my two weeks felt like I was going to start I got cramps and my breast got very sore I was getting very scared but trying to stay positive but not to for sure. Now I have taken the test and eased my nerve a little bit. So IUI can work on the first time!!! Good luck and passing the baby dust!!!

P.S. Thank you for all who have shared there stories to help me through my time in need

Hello again ladies,

Well went to the doctor this morning and found out .... it's TWINS! We are over the moon that not only did the IUI work, we got two for one, lol. I like to check back here every once in a while just to remind you all to keep going. It's not an easy road we have to walk, but the end result is so worth it. Xoxo, baby dust to all...

Hi All,
Iam 29, married for 3 years , TTC for a year now . My scans looks normal. Blood tests normal . HSG looks fine. No tubular blockage. Iam under the category of unexplained. I had back to back first time IUI on 23 and 24th july. Now Iam 8dpiui . I had 3 mature follicles and had my HCG shot . Iam having Progestrone suppositories upto 7th Aug . DH count and motility was quite good, that's what doc says. But I have noo symptoms and Iam feeling too low and scared about the result. Plz Plz Plz gimme some hope

thoshi - August 2

Erin3015 - Congratulations !!! Your success story does give me some hope

Erin3015 - August 2

Thoshi,
I don't think I had any super significant symptoms at day 8piui, besides normal side effects from the HCG shot. however my boobs started hurting soon after that. But don't worry, you might not have any symptoms, everyone is different. Just think positive, because you can always try next month, that's what I said to myself. Also are you seeing an OBGYN or an RE? The reason I ask is because my RE finally diagnosed me with pcos in like 20 mins, after trying to get pregnant for seven months with my regular OB.

thoshi - August 3

Erin - Iam going to a fertility specialist. I have changed 2 doctors and none have found any problem. Can you tell me if you had any symptoms from say 10dpiui to 14dpiui... until before you got ur BFP ?
