I took Fertility Blend for a while, and my cycles got regular (a miracle for me) But the pills were too expensive in the long run, so I simply purchased Vitex at the local healthfood store. I started out at 500 mg per day, and it didn't have any effect. Then I cut the dose down to 75-100 mg per day -- and my cycles became completely regular. So, from my experience, more is not always better as far as Vitex is concerned. I suggest starting with a small dose and see what happens.

PS: There is really no point in buying something as expensive as FertilityBlend. Simply "copy" the ingredients list and buy the supplements at a health food store. You will save lots of money.

Like Em, I am taking 240mg a day... well... Some days i forgot... I have NEVER had a regular cycle in my whole life - i started it on cd9 this month and I got my period right on time!! I don;t know whether it was a coincidence (i think not considering i have never had a 28day cycle...minimum was 45). I won't know for sure until next month whether it is working for me or not, but at this point, i am totally amazed. For the first time in a year, i am happy that AF is here, hopefully it will give me a regular O!

I should also mention........ No cramps! yippee.

I am hearing such positive feedback on the Vitex that I may try it after this cycle of Clomid I am on. This is my second month on Clomid. I think I will try Vitex next month and give my body a rest from the clomid. Did anyone say FertileAid is a good brand?

I drank a tea with Vitex and got pregnant the second month with the daughter (who turned one on Sat). I'm now back to taking it to TTC #2. My cycles have always been wacky and no shorter than 35 days.

I am also taking Vitex ttc #3. I had to take Clomid with my first two, and don't want to this time. I also only had regular cycles on the pill, with only 2-3 periods a year otherwise. I would suggest asking your physician for a Thyroid test though. I have found out I am hypothyroid, since beginning medication I have had more regular periods! Hopefully we will conceive this month. Pray for us, we lost our last baby (we have 2 living, 1 angel)

I suffered from infertility for 20+ years due to hormonal imbalance related to polycystic ovarian syndrome. As part of treatment for PCOS I took birth control pills for 12 months to regulate my cycle which works but I had to stop taking the pill for high blood pressure concerns. I learned about Vitex's ability to regulate cycles(not contraceptive), took it for 9 months, became pregnant, and I have a precious baby girl that I never thought I could have. Vitex IS worth a try!!!!

It is a wonderful tonic to enhance the chances of conception through its ability to regulate ovulation and if taken through the first trimester, vitex will reduce the chances of miscarriage. After the birth, it helps a new mother to produce plenty of milk.

I started taking Fertilaid a month ago i and still not pregnant has anyone used fertilaid which has vitex in it and got pregnant?

merlee - June 17

Hi. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in. I used Vitex for a couple of months too and I think it probably helped my cycle. One word of caution, though; Vitex increases your LH which is what the Ovulation Predictor kits test for, so if you use an opt to indicate O, be careful interperetting it. I was taking too much Vitex (don't remember how much) and got opt pos (very pos) for 5 days strait before O. I have been taking Ovulex now for 3 mo. and it has helped. But I am thinking of trying Fertiltea next.

Has anyone taken it with high prolactin levels and gotten any results?

Christy - June 21

To Maria: I too just finished my first month on FertilAid. So far I've noticed it brought my cycle length close to normal (36 days) whereas my cycles usually range from 2 - 6 months apart. I started my period today and am pretty bummed about not getting pregnant, however my husband was very sweet and reminded me that getting my cycles regulated is the first step and will increase our chances going forward. I plan to keep taking it for a few months to see if will work for me and I encourage you to do the same. Good Luck! :)
