If you got to peeonastick.com, it talks about things that can cause false positives. I don't know how accurate the info is, but this is what it said there... "Lastly, some ovarian cysts secrete hCG. This should not be confused with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)-- these are different, rarer cysts. While PCOS may cause "false positive" results on ovulation tests, it does not cause false positive results on pregnancy tests."

are you taking ovulex? i have heard that can cause false BFPs

I have read the posts where Dr's urine tests were not sensitive enough to pick up low HCG concentracions. Preg. tests that you can buy in pharmacy sre more sensitive that you dr's lab uses. Ask for bood test, it shoud be much more accurate and keep testing at home. Real false positive are very very uncommon, especially if you haven't had them before.

I just wanted to add, when I got my BFP and called my dr and told her that I did several tests and all came back BFP and I did the early at 12DPO, she told me that I don't have to come in and that tests these day are very good, and that I don't need additional tests, and scheduled my 8weeks appointment.

Hi snowbaby. Don't feel bad yet. When are the results for your bloodwork due? My doctor once told me that very few things can give you a false possitive, so keep your chin up. I had one of those rare cycts which NicoleM was just talking about, where I was not pregnant but hpt's were giving me a BFP. It was a size of a large grapefruit with blood vessels throughout. When I got that false BFP and went in for my u/s, my doc first though that I was pregnant because he mistook the blood pulsating through the vessel for heartbeat. Don't worry honey, untill you have a reason.

NicoleM - hun i am not taking any medication except for folic acid .. doc put me on vitrex yesterday. thanks so much for your many posts ...You pg hun?

Leilani14 - I guess you are right. thanks so much for the encouraging words and posts. I went with a different lab for my blood test coz i was pretty sure i was pg and i didnt wanna get another negative with the lab on my blood test. The new lab is a reputed one over here so i am kinda assured .. how many weeks are you now hun?

snowbaby, hope everything works out great for you. No I am not pg, have been ttc#2 for 24 months. I am on my 4th round of clomid. Got BFP on my second round in November was so excited for about 12 hours. Got BFP in the morning and started bleeding that same evening. Didn't O last month on Clomid and again this month. Maybe I'll just give Clomid a break. Lots of luck to you and baby dust to all you ladies.

Hello everyone, I'm new...I've got one for you. I am 13 days late and no period still. Did 3 hm test and one blood and still negative?? Dr wants to enduce period? Suggestions anyone. :o/

mommy2josh - Sadly i have to read another post like nicoleMs... :-( ...I'm so sorry to hear this :-( i feel really sad... you girls were so happy for me and... i really wish you two can join me in BFP soon....Did you get the opinion of a different gyno as well ??May be he can give you something other than clomid, if you arent responding to clomid? what the strenggth of clomid are you taking?
