Hey Rainbow... I'm not from MD but I am from VA. So its not that far from you. I am using clomid and waiting to see if it worked. I have been ttc for 2 years now. 2 early mc's and low progestrone. How about you?

Hey Saint - We just started trying, I've done all the research and DP and I are using frozen sperm from CA Cryobank. Are you doing just ovulation induction or IUI too? I know my doc has me on progesterone pills after IUI and till I either get AF or BFP, has your doc mentioned progesterone supplements?

I am just doing ovulation induction. I am on 50mg of Clomid, and it appears that I did ovulate, just waiting to take a preggy test. But I doubt it will be a BFP. I also take Progestrone as well. I started with the suppositories 48hrs after I got my + on the Ovulation strips. I'm hoping that I did not take the Progestrone too early, as to inhibit ovulation. But I think I am okay. It is such a small window for me to take the Progestone. Too early no ovulation, too late mc. I had a 3 week mc, so I have to take them pretty quick after I ovulate. Are you the same way?

Hey aish - are you going to Shady Grove for IVF or do they do other things?

hi well i have unexplained infertility ..then i went to shady grove fertility center and i tried 4 IUI (failed)with clomid/injectables ...then they said last thing will be ivf...before IVf they found one polyp they removed that polyp and they did my 1st ivf but it failed ...so now i will be going for my 2nd ivf ....
YEh shady grove is like a big hospital they have rockville office for surgeries& ivf...and other offices in va for IUI and blood work,my doc is also nice .
i live in AShburn ,va i think frederick is only 40 min.drive from our home.

Hey aish - thats's good to know about Shady Grove. We are only on our first round of IUI but have talked about it "just in case" and decided no more than 6 months of this before we move to higher tech (ie: IVF) so what kind of price ballpark are we talking about here? I heard IVF is super expensive.

yeh rainbow it is very expensive...if u do shared risk u have to pay 20K ....u can go upto 5 ivf ...but u know cost of meds will be around 4k each cycle...my ivf failed and now will be going for 2nd ivf

Hello Ladies... I was wondering if I could join you on this board. I am also from NoVA. DH and I have been TTC for about 2 years now. I have been through 2 IUI cycles on tamoxifen and Ovridel shot. So far we haven't been successful. My RE has told us that our next step would be either try IUI with injectibles or we could just move on to IVF. We are trying to sell our house in MD and want to wait before we take the plunge. What have been your experiences? We can't decide which way we want to proceed. I am 32 and will be 33 in a month. How old are all of you? How long have you been trying to concieve? Right now we go don't go to an RE with shared risk and we are thinking about switching. Can anyone recommend someone in the NoVA area? I see some of you go to Shady Grove. One of my co-workers has gone to Washington Fertility and they were able to get a BFP on the first try. Hey Coop - welcome! I'm 29 and my DP (darling partner) and I have just started trying. This is our first month (IUI obviously:-) with Clomid and HCG because my doc says it makes my O window more predictable. My 2 WW will be over one way or another by Friday, that's when I'm supposed to preg test, AF is due any day now though and I feel crampy so I'm figuring that means it didn't work. I'm a little bummed but am kind of expecting it, stats say like 6% chance of getting preg on 1st IUI. I'm using Univ. of MD docs, mine's name is Dr. Udoff and he seems good, I checked up on him before my first appointment and he's well educated and published plus I met one of his "success babies" in the waiting room before one of my appointments so he must have some luck. I would recommend IUI before going so invasive as IVF, IUI is considered "medium" technology (sex being low tech and IVF being high tech) plus it's not as expensive as IVF, mine will cost about $2K/month and is expected to take up to 4-6 times, plus insurance **might** pay for somethings like u/s and appointment costs, we still haven't heard back about that yet.
