Progesterone Test...please answer

i went to the dr to get blood work done to check my progesterone levels... Aprin 1st it was 9.48 and April 3rd it was 10.42... im trying to get my pd.. i thought that the level was supposed to go down to get it.... How will the progesterone numbers tell me when i ovulated???? thank you very much
