Hi everyone. Tina - Glad to hear the retrieval went well, hopefully you'll get a lot fertilised. You're on so many meds - I just had the progesterone suppositories after the egg collection for 14 days. They seem to like their meds in the US but I think their success rates are usually a lot higher than here. Acupunture needles you can hardly feel at all - there's no pain at all! Shame IVF needles can't be the same! Hope the transfer goes well. Hi Helen - Everyone gets up to a year's maternity leave by law in the UK, though the pay you get depends on your employer. I also get 30 days (6 weeks) annual leave a year at full pay. I was on full pay for 6 weeks, then half pay for another 2.5 months (as long as I go back) plus £100 a week from the state, then what the state gives you (not much - £100 a week, about US$180 a week) for the next 2 months then for the last 6 months nothing. Its pretty generous with my employer. Also if I adopt I get the same terms and conditions, which is nice but not very common I think. I also get 6 weeks annual leave at full pay during my year's maternity leave - I like that! I'm not sure when I'll go back yet - I have to return in October at the latest. From what I remember (Health Warning: That isn't very much with my brain at the moment!) watery discharge is quite common. Hope the scan goes really well on Friday. Amy - Hope the appointments go well.

Hi everyone! It's me- Jen..now Jen T...I decided to join the trend and register since our lovely friend well, has played so many of her immature tricks lately. Anyhow- wow Tina!! I can't believe you already had your retrieval!! Good for you!! How was it? How are you feeling today? 12 eggs is great!! Michele- I'm so excited for you to have your transfer next week...I'm guessing mine will be right around there too! I went to the RE again this morning for another u/s (we've been there everyday for the last 3 days..fun times!!!) and was told that tonight is my trigger night!! They still need to call me back with all the details, but it looks like my ER will be on Thursday. I am so excited to finally be to this point!! How is everyone else doing? Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, it seems like the days just get away from me lately!! Take care everyone and keep us posted!

Helen- I had the lap done on 2/8/06. What bothers me, I guess, is that she did not remove anything. She said I had one fibroid, but it was not bothering anything. My mom has them too. She said both my tubes are blocked and I have advanced endo...she didn't say what stage that I can remember. She told my family that she did not take anything out because it would not do any good. She also said she did not want to touch anything and make it worse. Soooo I guess she is right. I am still going to have a second opinion. I have my set of pics from the surgery, I am going to show another doctor. I am just scared and trying not to stress too much. I have enough already..lol
AmyR- Did they remove the endo from you? I had just hoped they would have removed mine to give me some relief for a while. But then again, maybe it can come back worse. Maybe I should have been a doctor.....lol I might understand better...lol
Hope everyone is doing great!

Jaqi - February 21

Oh yea....She did say everything else was fine....My ovaries and uterus are fine. It's just the tubes that decided to be blocked. My DH had his test and he is perfect they said...I was happy but then cried because I felt I was possibly keeping something from him that he also wants because my body decided to do it's own thing. But he has assured me he doesn't care either way, as long as I don't have cancer or any life threatening disease. We are keeping our eyes out on adoption possibilities, while going through IVF.

Louisa - February 21

Jaqi, my heart is with you! I went through years of not knowing if I could or if I can. Being poked and proded. Being put on this drug after that drug. Lap after Lap. Gyno after Gyno. We are super woman for going through what we have so far! In your case without a doubt I would get a 2nd opinion, if in your heart you know someone else can give you another option take it. Never stop till you have spoken to as many DRs, specialists, gynos you name it you go and see them. My first lap the Gyno said I looked fine! There is NOTHING wrong with you... in my heart of hearts I knew this so-called money hungry gyno was all BS. So 3 gynos down the track found one that said I had endo. This gyno removed all endo. He said if this nothing happens in 6 months you need to see a fertility specialist. Unfortunately after 6months, still nothing and headed to a IVF clinic. You need to know that you have exhausted every avenue. So at the end of the day you can look back and know you tried everything and now you need to find peace with whatever happened/happens is meant to happen. As crazy as it sounds we go through things in life for a reason. Keep the faith! Tina, 12 embroyos is fantastic! What did the report say? Terry, the waiting game is a killer! I hated waiting so I did a test but unfortunately came up BFN and then had to go for my scheduled BT and AF came the day after!!! To say I was pissed and gutted is an understatement. Started my 2nd round of BT today so I could be joining you Michelle with the transfer next week! Justine, how are you feeling? You are like the mother hen of this thread! We look up to you!! Helen, how are you feeling? And a big fat hello to Jen and Amy!

AmyR - February 21

Hi ladies!!! Sounds like everyone is well. Jen- They did remove all of my endo and I had severe (off the charts) and they had to remove my left tube as it was blocked. I was having lots of pain though around AF, and was really plugged up as well. I don't understand though why your Dr wouldn't have removed it??? A second opinion would be great for you. My Lap and Hysteroscopy were both the beginning of Jan, can't remember the date though.

Hi everyone! Got the call from the clinic and it's go time!!! Thursday will be our ER day and I can't wait!!! Anyone else feel like an overstuffed turkey right before the ER? I feel very bloated and a bit uncomfortable, but hey it's totally worth it if we get our own little Sophies out of this, right?!? Louisa and Michelle- it looks like all three of us could be doing our transfers next week together. My RE is shooting for a day 6 transfer...I know you all talk about 3 day vs. 5 day...but my clinic does both 3 day and 6 day..not sure why this is different than everyone else's. My RE recommends the day 6 if egg quality looks good...she told me that the chances of success increase greatly with a day 6 transfer...let's hope she's right!! Take care everyone and keep us posted!

Tina - February 22

Hello. Jaqi-I agree with Louisa, and the others, def get another opinion. But also keep the faith and take one day at a time. My friend was ttc for 5+yrs , she went through numerous miscarriages, was pregnant at one point w/triplets and unfortunately lost them. She was diagnosed w/endo and she might have needed her cervix sewn tighter, that it could not carry the weight of a pregnancy. After all of this horrible pain, suffering and heartache, she had just about given up. Until one day, she found out she was pregnant! She had some difficulites while pregnant, was on bed rest for the last 4 months. This is the same friend, that just gave birth to a healthy, baby girl. I was there throughout the entire labor, it was truly amazing! So don't give up! Jen -you will have your ER when I think I will be having my transfer. Hope it goes well, let us know the details. You will be very sore and tired the day of. I slept the entire day off, then today I feel better. Justine - wow, that is great maternity leave benefits! Here in the US we get about 16 wks or so. And I think, depending on your employer, it is only about 60% of your pay. Jen T - I hear ya on the oversized turkey, I was very bloated before and at ER. Just remember to drink lots of gatorade and eat proteins, which will help with the bloating. And plenty of rest! Michelle/ Louisa, wow, I can't believe you will have your transfer next week, that is great! Helen - I hope Friday's appt will ease your mind a little. Baby dust everyone!

Nina - February 22

Sorry girls...I've been lost for a while. I started my lupron shots (which are a breeze) on Sat., Feb. 18. If it all goes well, I will be starting stimulation on 3/3 and expected retrival on 3/15. I am so nervous. Do you girls know if the stimulation shots (Bravelle & Menopur) have to be injected with a 1 inch needle in the stomach? I am so nervous. Tina - I can't believe you already went through your retrival - that is awsome - hopefully now doing the ISCI you'll be pregnant by the time I finish my transfer. Baby dust to you! Michelle & Louisa good luck with the retrival - hope all goes well. Baby dust to all of us :-)

Michele - February 22

Hello All! So much does happen when you are off the site for just 1 day. I am thinking/praying for all of you ladies...this is such a marathon. Time does fly overall, but it's so hard to wait!! Tina, I am excited for your transfer on Thursday...That is great!! I'll be exactly 1 week behind you... Jen T. you be brave..it all goes so fast. Have Dh rent lots of movies or curl up to a good book...but definately rest so your body is ready for the embryos...If you do a 6 day would that be next Tues. or Wed.?? Louisa, are you doing another fresh cycle or FET, like me?? We will be right in there together. Does anyones Prog. shot injec. site still hurt?? It's been over a month since my last shot and if I jog or push in it still hurts!! Anyone heard of that? I am actually excited to go see my RE this Monday, that's weird isn't it? I feel like he's such a part of this and it's been so long since I've seen him....I'm such a head case! Tina..I am dying to know?? Did they tell you yet how many fertilized? We had 12 eggs and 11 fertilized (also with ICSI) so I thought that was great!! Nina, AmyR, Jaqui, Justine, Hello! and hope you are doing well..I appreciate all of your positive thoughts!

Jen T - February 23

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing great today! I am very excited for the big retrieval tomorrow!! Tina- So is your transfer already tomorrow? That is so exciting! I'll keep you in my prayers! Thanks for the advice too, I am planning on hitting the couch in a major way tomorrow afternoon and just vegging. Michelle- I know what you mean about looking forward to seeing your RE..I'm the same way, but I just think that that's normal because seeing them means moving a step closer to getting our little ones!! I think if we do the 6 day transfer as planned it would be on next Wed...but I'm sure I'll know more after tomorrow. It would be great if we have our transfers on the same day...that way we can wait together! How are you Justine, Helen, Amy, Nina, Louisa, and anyone else I might have forgotten? Keep us posted!

AmyR - February 23

Hi !! Wow this is a busy week. Jen T and Tina good luck tomorrow... please take it easy afterwards and let us know how it goes. Helen- your big day is Fri!!! Can't wait... Hi and good luck to everyone else!!!

Terry - February 23

Hi girls. How is everyone doing. I'm been trying to keep busy. I don't feel pregnant. Matter of fact, I feel that if I stopped taking these progesterone shots, I'd start my period. Just a little depressed. I just found out that one of the girls I met at the dr's office did not get pregnant. OH WELL. She told me that she knows many people that I have not gotten prego on the 1st try. I am still waiting impatiently. I have not tested anymore. Can't handle the heartbreak. Sorry I haven't been online. I feel its may have been easier, not thinking about getting pregnant. Hope all is well everyone. Thanks for your concern and ya'll take care.

Nina - February 23

Terry - believe it or not, my friend who did not have any symptoms what soever and thought that it had definately not worked for her, took a pregnancy test at 1.5 weeks after transfer, it turned out negative, she thought it would be negative but by the time she went in for her exam she ended up prego and couln't believe it because she felt nothing until about 2 weeks after her bloodwork. So be patient, be brave, and pray! ;-)

CHIN UP - February 23

i HAD NO SIGNS OF BEING PREGNANT AND I WAS..GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

Helen - February 23

hi girls...Justine, what a great maternity leave you have there in the UK. i'm jealous :o) you must be in London now...hope you and Sophie are having fun! Jaqi, i would definitly seek out a 2nd opinion. i also have a fibroid, fortunately it's not in the uterus and was told i didn't need to have it removed either. sometimes removing them does cause more harm. i hope you find some answers!!! and don't blame yourself for your infertlity. mother nature decided to take her course and there is nothing we can do about it. Jen, good luck with the retrieval today. i'll be thinking of you and hope you're not in too much pain. let us know how many they retrieved. can't wait to hear from you. Tina, how are you doing? did you have your transfer today? how many fertilized? will you be on bedrest for a few days? keep us posted and i'm sending you tons of baby dust!!! Michele, it's almost your time!!! i'm sure you are so excited! it's been a week and a half since i stopped the PIO injections and i still have lumps on my cheeks! and still feels like i have a huge bruise. i'm sure you all are not looking forward to those. Nina, the menopur injections aren't too bad. the needles itself doesn't hurt at all but the meds going in will burn a little. just remember to inject it in slowly. Amy, hi how are you doing? will you be going away this weekend? thanks for your thoughts regarding tomorrows appt. i'm nervous but excited! Terry, good to hear from you. i didn't feel pregnant at all and i thought i would start AF even on the progesterone. but, i did get a positive so hang in there! how many days post transfer are you now? you'll be in my thoughts and hope you get a bfp! Louisa, transfer next week? do you know which day? are you doing a FET? i'll be praying for you and Michele for a successful transfer- good luck :o) loads of baby dust and i'm so excited for everyone's cycle! hope you all get pregnant!!!
