I wouldn't worry about that mg. My dh didn't want me with him either. It's nothing against you, it's just very sensitive for them. At least he is willing to do it at all. I would just let him be by himself and hope for the best ! good luck

MG: I think it's great DH wants to go it alone- My DH asks me to go and then feels like a spotlight is on him and that, in turn, causes more pressure, I think.... Maybe next one he can go by himself- increase those levels! ANN: so sorry to her what the re said. What exactly was the problem? I mean, how did you go from having trouble TTC to being unable to conceive?? You are producing your own eggs!! Not even ONE try at IVF first?? Bit of a stretch but, maybe need a second opinion??? I feel for you so much- I am thinking of you-- ~~DUST~~

Hi dea. I met with the RE on Monday, and I got a little better news. The <1% is if your fsh is over 14. I got a 15.9, but it was clomid-induced and should be disregarded. So really I have a 12.9, which is not good but provides a little hope. I am hitting it from every angle now--doing injectibles (assuming I get a bfn this week) and acupuncture (have an appt on Saturday). Where are you in your cycle?

I got back my DH new SA he had
113 million of the little guys with 97% motility over 87% still alive and kicking after over 24 hours. His numbers looked great the only problem was the shape of them, they like to see at least 14% normally formed and he had 6%. All my test results (3 day cycle hormones) came back normal, my ultra sound looked great. I have a HSG tommorrow. So if that goes well we will discuss treatment options on the 27th. I think we will try natural with maybe some clomid for a few months before we try something more aggressive. ANN: I am really sorry about your visit the the RE, I completely understand how you must have felt. You are such a strong person. I agree with Dea, I would get a second opinion as well. Our good friends had similar problems, but they decided they didnt want to undergo treatment, they just adopted there second baby last week. It was a very happy time for them. On the other hand I have a co worker who had a terrible prognosis- they were told by two MDs they would NEVER get pregnant- she had 3 IVF, her last took, and they had FOUR healthy babies!! (They only expected 3!! BIG surprise on birth day!!)Keep your head up, and just keep going. I believe in you.

mg, that is absolutely GREAT news!! I am so glad his results were better. Was the 113million per ml or was that total? Does it say a volume on the report? Did your dr suggest the clomid/natural option? Thanks for the kind words. I am feeling better about keeping trying. After my next af arrives (should be any day), I am going to take some birth control pills and another thing for a couple weeks and then start the shots after that. I am so ready to get on with things!! I could not imagine having 4 kids...it is really great she got pg! Do you know what her infertility issue(s) were?

I just received an informal report on the phone from the nurse, we meet with the MD to discuss options on the 27th. My friend had SEVERE scarring and hormonal problems? So they had surgery to remove the scaring, took medication to help the hormones, implanted 3 embryos(hoping one will stick) well they got pregnant with all three, on the day they gave birth they found a fourth baby, (one of the eggs became a twin) they had no idea since they only expected three, so they had to go buy one more of everything that day. All four are happy healthy 5 year olds. My other friend had an tubal pregnancy which resulted in severe scarring,(other tube completely blocked) she also had hormonal problems they did 3 cycles of IUI, and decided to just adopt. Thats what we are planning to do, 3 cycles of IUI, then start the adoption process if they fail. We just want to be parents, whether they are our biologically or not doesnt matter to us. I just pray it all works out from everybody here. Do you have any ideas of why my husbands count could have changed so dramatically? It almost doubled in numbers?

Ann - February 17

Had your dh been sick or taking any meds? On our 2nd iui, my dh had a count of 300million and then he had the flu a couple weeks later. On our 3rd iui, his count was only 140million. It seems like the counts can really fluctuate. That is great you are willing to look into adoption--greatly expands your options. I think you will get pg, though. With the iui, they will "wash" the sperm, so the bad ones will mostly be gone and the good ones will have better chances.

mg - February 17

We decided to go back to my OB and just try Clomid for 4 months. If that does not work we will look at IUI. We just want to jump into something we may not need yet. The clinic said he had enough sperm to get us pregnant even with the abnormal one. Hopefully it will work.

Ann - February 17

That sounds like a good plan. Your dr will probably tell you, but you can get resistant to clomid. So after 3 cycles of it, you may want to take a month off if you don't get pg.

Dear Meg, Ann, and Dea I wish you lots of baby dust!!! I will pray for you. I believe you will get your little precious ones very soon. I am 32 year old and we were ttc for a year. No luck yet. It is very frustrating getting af all the time instead. I don't know what's wrong with us. God bless you ladies!!! Talk to you soon.

Ann - February 17

Hi Julia, and welcome. Have you seen a dr yet about ttc?

julia - February 17

Ann I just bought clear blue fertility monitor and began taking evening primrose yesterday. My dh takes viagra to lift it up. I will start testing for ovulation tomorrow. The monitor says that you should use it for 6 month and then see a doctor if it does not work.

Ann - February 17

julia, I would tell your dh not to take the Viagra. It has been shown to cause infertility. See this (reported on the BBC so definitely legit): The irony is hard to miss: men who take Viagra may be shooting blanks according to new research conducted at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Viagra, it seems, causes sperm cells to premature release digestive enzymes that normally break down the wall of the egg. As a result, sperm from men who take Viagra can no longer fertilize eggs as effectively.

julia - February 17

Oh Ann, what a nightmare. My dh can only do it once in 5 days on his own. I guess I will never have a baby girl... Thank you for your response. It did not occur to me that viagra may have sight effects. I am going to research Internet on that right now. Let the God send baby dust your way!!!

Ann - February 17

julia, had your dh seen a Urologist? There could be some kind of blockage causing that. Has he done a semen analysis?

Ann - February 17

Trust me, I know it is hard, but try to stay positive. You will get pg--just get all the info you can to tackle this!!
