chicks - October 5

Hi ladies! How's everyone? Sorry, I've been MIA for the last while... Been going nuts at work and I actually got talked to about my internet usage at work (this site.. whoops.. LOL) so I haven't been coming on during the day.. Sorry! How are you doing Anna? Been to the doctor's for your ultrasound? How are those symptoms coming along? Merlee, how you doing sweetie? Still hanging in there? Welcome JCR! Nice of you to join us.. Unfortunately, I don't do the accupuncture thing, so I can't be of any assistance there.. As for me, I'm now on 10 days of Prometrium to hopefully jump start me.. I was on Provera before and it didn't work for future cycles but hopefully this one will.. Anyways, hope all is well with you guys and talk to you soon! Take care!

Anna - October 5

jcr, welcome! Glad you can join us! I don't do the accupuncture thing either, but good luck with that and I hope it helps. chicks, glad to hear from you again! Sorry, you got into trouble talking to us! :( I hope the Prometrium works for you. I know how frustrating it all can be. My s/s have been on the low lately....present but mild, thank goodness! I went for my appt. today and things look really good! We had the ultrasound done and the baby was so hyper! Every time my midwife went to click a picture, the baby would start jumping up and down like a mexican jumping bean and wave his arms and legs like he was riding a bike! We were laughing so hard during the ultrasound! I think he knew he was the center of attention :) We could see his beating heart, his head, body, legs, mr. potato head arms, and his little monkey face. He seriously looks like curious george right now! So I'm calling him my little monkey! The ultrasound picture measured him at 10 weeks 1 day. The due date right now is May 1st. But that will change every time I go in, I'm sure. Seeing the baby for the first time just made everything seem more real. The only cause for slight concern right now is a cyst on one of my ovaries. I'm getting another ultrasound done to check it out fully. But I'm not worried, because I've had them before and they usually go away on their own. And I've heard of other women getting them while pregnant and it doesn't cause any problems. I'll let you girls know what happens with that, though. Well, I'm getting really sleepy, so I'm off to bed. Hope you girls are having a good week and look forward to hearing from you soon! :) *baby dust*

Robin - October 5

Hello ladies! I am new to this thread but I started reading and I got hooked!. Congrats to Anna! A story like yours provides inspiration to those of us who feel like there is no hope :-) . Actually I have only been ttc for about 8 mo and I have just had the worst time b/c I thought it would be so easy. I had a appt. at my ob/gyn back in April and he said that he would expect to see me back (& pregnant!) very soon. He told me that I am young and healthy and there is no reason that I should not conceive quickly...but here I am...still waiting. Normally my cycle has been 30-33 days long with not much change however last month I went 42 days and took like 10 hpts the last two had faint lines. I set up a date to get a blood test and what do ya know??? ....I got AF...I was heartbroken and so was my husband b/c we really thought that we were PG. I just felt so helpless. Well...that terrible day was AUG 22!! and guess what? no AF yet which makes today day # 44. I decided to take one hpt on monday and it was negative..not even a faint line :-( I have occasionally been feeling mild cramping and on Sept. 24th I had light spotting (imp. bleeding?) I just don't know. I don't wanna get my hopes up but how can you keep from it? so theres my story..would love to keep talking to you gals.

merlee - October 5

Hey everyone. Welcome jcr and Robin. Anna, I'm glad things are calm with you. Sounds like you might be in for a very active baby! My family thing was very stressful (family issues I wasn't aware of came to the surface in a big way) and I only saw the 3 yr old for about 10 min. He hopped around on the floor saying he was a frog. Chicks, it is good to hear from you again. I can't do the internet thing at work, either. Too many snoops, and I don't want anybody at work knowing my business. Well, I am now on cd27 and 11 dpo with spotting (not unusual). Temp went down this morning, so I have been depressed all day, AF will be here in about 3 days. I had really hoped - just like EVERY month. I have a consultation with an herbalist tonite and maybe she can help me out. jcr - I have been doing acupressure on myself for 2 months, but I am a little aprehensive about the acupuncture. If I knew it would work for sure, I would do it in a heartbeat. But nothing is a sure thing, and I have been let down so many times now. Talk you girls later.

Robin - October 6

Hello Merlee. Don't get too discouraged. (just telling you what I tell myself all the time) Today is cd45 for me and still nothing....just hoping and praying. I called my ob/gyn today and made an appt. for Oct 18th so if I am or I'm not PG, I still want to know what the deal is with my cycles being mega-long. I'm beginning to believe that I had an early miscarriage last month. Yesterday, I went back and looked at all the old hpts that I saved and I can still see + lines on 4 of them! ***Baby dust**** to everyone (except Anna, of course)

jodi - October 6

Robin, the tests say not to diagnose after 10 minutes. So I wouldn't necessarily count on that. Merelee, we didn't us any birthcontrol for 6 years before we had our daughter. So you never know when it will happen. I hadn't had a period since oct 2002 then in Jan 03 I randomly got pg. My hubby and I always joke-he gave me a diamond the weekend I got pg! So I just keep telling him I need matching earings to pop an egg lol! He tells me a porsche will do it for him... little more expensive than accupuncture! I had my 2nd accupuncture treatment today and the lady feels quite positive, so I am giving it until December to see what happens. How did the herbalist appointment go? Anna how are you feeling? 2nd trimester is great, you have lots of energy and feel good. Hang in there ladies and goodluck. I patiently awaiting to see I am cd 36 no sight of AF and am 13 days dpo, so I will have to see. With both my other pgs (one baby, one M/c) I didn't get a positive until about day 20, so I'll have to see....fingers crossed.

Robin - October 7

Good luck, Jodi.Hope it happens for you this time! I know that those tests say that but I did read them before 10 minutes at the time so I'm sure those + were there to begin with. I also have a couple of old hpts which are still negative after all this time. I'm pretty sure that in general, they stay the way they were to begin with, but I plan to ask my doctor what he thinks when I go to my appt. As of now, cd46 and still no AF. I am feeling sort of bloated and possibly slighty crampy today though. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. :-) ~~baby dust~~ to all!

merlee - October 9

Hey everybody! Robyn, I hope your doc is able to figure something out. I have giving up on the doctors. Jodi, thats funny about the diamond. I have to agree with you, you need another. Well, the herbalist consult was great. For an hour and a half we talked about my symptoms and she gave me lots of advise about things I could be doing on a daily basis to improve my fertility (like eating green leafy veggies everyday, uhg!). She was really helpful and encouraging. I am much more positive than I was a couple of days ago. Jodi, how much do you pay for the acupuncture? and how often do you go? I think that if the acupressure works (and I think it is) I will stick to that. It's free and I can do it everyday, I just hope that it really is working. Talk to you girls later.

jodi - October 9

AAAARG! Got my AF on thursday night!!! Oh well cd 4 and here we go again. Merelee, it costs about $100/ tx including herbs and stuff. That book is awesome and I am sure the acupressure will help. I know if you search the internet for the infertility cure, you can do an online consultation with the author and order herbs through her also??? Goodluck to all and here I go again for another rollercoaster cycle ride. Buck up!!!

Robin - October 10

Well...I got AF Saturday morning on cd47. I just feel like I am soooo screwed up. Why are my cycles soo long all of a sudden?!? AHHHH! (sorry, I just have to vent) Anyway, well, at least I have an ob/gyn appt. on the 18th...we'll see what happens. I haven't given up on my doc yet so ...we'll see. ~~baby dust~~

chicks - October 10

Hi ladies! Good to see some more faces on here! Welcome, Robin and Jodi! Hey Anna! How's it going sweetie? Showing yet? Hi Merlee! Missed ya.. Nothing new with me, but again, I have been reading yours. Just to make things more difficult, DH is on an afternoon shift now. So, I'm going to be staying up late every second night because I have absolutely no idea when and if I ovulate (no temp rise this month so I highly doubt that I even ovulated..) Damn, I'm so frustrated. I have been to countless number of doctor's appointments and I don't feel any further along than what I was before. Never had a period for the last 4 months (the 2 before that were BCP induced, and didn't have one 6 months before that) don't know if I ever ovulate, Metformin doesn't look like it's doing a thing, I keep getting cysts, and I just finished 10 days of prometrium pills and am now getting a period from hell.. He's hoping that this will jump start my system (it's been a year, I highly doubt it but worth trying.. I've been on it before and it didn't do nothing). So, in total, I've had 0 periods on my own after going off the pill a year ago. I can't seem to have one of my own. Temps are irratic and I don't know what to do next. I want more than anything to be able to give my husband, myself, his family and my family the best Christmas gift I could possibly give.. I'm not giving up hope by any means, but I want that so bad.. Anyways, sorry to go on, just a bad day.. Sorry about your AF's Jodi and Robin.. Can you guys tell me if any of you have been told of any herbs that may help with infertility/PCOS? I'm looking at that route because it doesn't seem like this stuff is working for me.. I'm trying to research but not finding much luck.. On a lighter note, I know that one day, we'll all be celebrating together.. Knowing us, I bet you that we'll all be pregnant close together! Then we can all share our pregnancy stories instead of just our TTC stories.. Good luck to all you ladies and all the baby dust in the world to all of you!

jcr/jodi - October 10

Hi ladies, I am suffering through a yucky period, but it looks like a good healthy one! No brown or clotting, which is what I usually have. It started the day of my acupuncture tx! So I was very happy not to have to take prometrium to induce it! Chicks, my RE told me it takes at least 3-4 cycles of metformin for it to do its thing, and I read that 80% of women within 8-9 months it helps regulate their cycle. I am still on Metformin, other than chinese herbs and vitamins it is all I am taking. All my chinese herbs are a premade mix that is all in chinese so I can't tell you exactly what is in them. You may want to pickup the book "the infertility cure" it is quite interesting, your library may have it, or even go to your local borders grab a tea and sit and flip thru it at the store. Take a notebook, it may give you some ideas, I have also had several people who had irregular periods tell me that after an acupuncture treatment they started their period within 24 hours (which was also true in my case also???) There was also no headache or nasea which I had with prometrium. Hang in there chicks and don't be so hard on yourself. We have a tendancy to blame ourselves or feel like failures because we cannot concieve. But it is nothing we have done personally nor can we fix it. Don't be so hard on yourself. Love your body for everything good it does for you! Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, but it does not make who you are...Only you can do that. There are so many other options if your body fails you. I know how frusterated you are chicks, it took us 6 years for baby #1. My hubby wasn't sure he wanted children so he wouldn't see a specialist with me, so I went through it alone. He now knows how wonderful it is so he is much more supportive this time around. Some days you need to let yourself have a good cry and get on with your day. Hang in there Chicks, you sound like a wonderful and caring person. HEY, lets each try to say something wonderful about our bodies each post, maybe all the positive vibes will rush to our ovaries! My body got me through a tough yoga class yesterday and made me feel strong and great!! Today I am imagining nice healthy ovaries getting ready to give me some big ripe eggs! What has yours done for you today????? Anna...you especially share the wonderful things your body is doing for you!

jcr - October 10

me again...chicks you can do a google search for "Randine Lewis" she is the author of the book. It tells you a bit about it there. Good luck and baby dust storms to all...

Anna - October 11

Hey girls! How is everyone? chicks, hang in there sweetie! I really feel for you! I know the frustration, but but I also know how wonderful it feels when you finally have that little one in your tummy and part of you just fells complete. Your time is coming soon! Don't give up hope girl! I'm praying for you. :) merlee, did you get your af yet? Don't you wish that we could just look deep in our bodies and be able to see exactly what's going on with us?! I really hope all those herbs and accupressure work for you. And for you too, jcr. I'm sorry about your af starting! What a bummer! Robin, I'll send you my leftover baby dust! How are you? Nothing new to report here. Still same old, same old. No appetite, but trying to force myself to eat fruits and veggies and other healthy foods. The nausea has let up a bit, thank goodness! I get the second ultrasound this thursday, so I'll let you girls know how it goes. Sending lotsa prayers your way!

jcr - October 13

Anna, I have heard that the accupressure bands used for sea sickness help morning sickness as well. They worked wonders for me when I was seasick. You can also buy I think they are called preggo pops, that are supposed to help also. Good luck and hang in there it gets better next tri.
