Galina, your story is very romantic! Thanks for what you said about my English. I still have a LOT to learn. I'm getting there! You are in my prayers too. We will get bfs very soon. You will see. Does your family live here in the US? My parents live in Brazil but they come for visit once a year. My brother lives very close to me -- about 10 minutes away only. Have you told anyone that you are ttc? We haven't told anyone. Oh, well, my mom knows something but that's about it.

Galina - April 13

Hi Nata, thankfully my whole family is here in LA and some in NY. All of our friends, and I mean ALL, have 2 or more kids and my dh and I are the only couple with 1. Some know that we've been ttc but they don't know that I've been going through fertility treatments. I often hear comments that I better hurry up and get pg, because the age difference b/w dd and baby will be too big and "what am I waiting for". Those comments just kill me...My mom and dad know. We are VERY close and my mom went w/me to both of my IUI's. Tomorrow I am leaving for Palm Springs until Sunday night and won't be able to check the computer. I hope you have a wonderful week, GOOD LUCK with the dr appt, and I hope by the time I come back, you would have started your meds and that your follies are growing and growing and growing....Talk to you Monday...:)

Nata - April 13

Galina, I totally understand your frustration. Everybody is always saying "it's time for you two to have a baby", or "don't wait too much", or "why don't you have a baby?". I don't like this pressure. I'm so glad they don't know we're ttc. Otherwise, I believe the pressure would be even worse. I hope you have a GREAT time in Palm Springs. Forget about this ttc issue and enjoy life! Oh, by the way, my appointment went really well. The doctor said, one more time, my eggs look beautiful. I will start the cycle tonight. My next appointment will be on Tuesday for a follie check. Talk to you on Monday, my dear.

Nata - April 13

Lynn, how are you? When is your next follie check? Good luck!

Galina - April 17

Hi Nata! I got back fromPalm Springs today and as my luck would have it, I did O during my trip and of course, dh was back home working. Oh well.....How are the injections going for you? Do you notice weight gain around your tummy area when you ared oing them? Sincve I started the injections, I gained a whole 10 lbs!! I am on a diet starting tomorrow. How was your weekend?

Nata - April 17

Galina, welcome back! I missed talking to you. I am sorry to hear that you O'ed while you were away. Did you have intercourse before you traveled? Sperm can live about up to five days so you still have some chances. When can you test? I always gain weight when I am taking these shots. My last cycle was more than a month ago so I had time to loose almost all "extra" pounds. Now I think they are "showing up" again. LOL. How tall are you? I am 5' 3". I had a nice weekend. Yesterday we had family coming over the house so I prepared a special meal. We had a great time. Oh, my dh and I went to church in the morning. How was your vacation?

Galina - April 17

Hi Nata, I am glad you had a goo dweekend. I can't wait for your report tomorrow after the dr's appt. Yes, we did bd on Wed. night before I left and my monitor showed that I o'd on Friday. We also did it last night too. I don't thik it worked so I am not even thinking about it b/c it hasn't worked that way in 2 years...I am 5'8 and ususally weigh 130. Now I am up to 140. It is not as bad b/c I am tall and very proportional, but I hate the way my clothes fit on me and today is my big diet day. I am going to try an drink tons of water (I never drink water unless I have too). It is supposed to flush you out and make you feel full. I also stopped going to the gym b/c of the IUI's. What did you cook for your meal? On Wed. night, we went to my mom's for Passover and had yummy food. The family you refer to, is that your dh's family? Do you have anyone here from Brazil? Well, it is 7:30am here and I have to go and take my daughter (Brittany) to school and then I am off to the office. I will check back soon.

Nata - April 17

Hey Galina. I still think you are in the game. Lets wait and see. You are in my prayers. Wow, you are skinny! Yeah, I know what you mean about the way your clothes fit when you have those extra pounds due to infertility meds. I feel the same way. I weigh 115 pounds. I love going to the gym. After the iui, I am planning in resting... no gym for two weeks! For now, I am "pretending" I am working out. LOL. I still go to the gym for some very light cardio exercise ---- basically walking! The simple idea of going to the gym makes the feel good. My brother lives about 10 minutes from my house and I have a cousin who lives about 40 minutes. They are the only family members I have here in the US. I am very close to my dh's family. They are GREAT people. My father-in-law went for lunch yesterday. The only reason my mother-in-law did not go was because she is on a work related trip. Do you already have any plans for next cycle? (just in case this one doesn't work)

Galina - April 17

Hi Nata, that is great that you have a close relationship w/the in-laws. What do you do for work? I think on the next cycle, I will try yIUI for the 3rd and last time. I just don't know what kind of meds the dr will give me b/c I am so afraid of the Follistim and being over-stimm'd again, so I am not sure what he will decide to do. If the IUI doesn't work, I am going to do IVF. I just hope that the IUI will work though so I don't have to go through any other procedure. I hope you are having a good day.

Nata - April 17

Galina, we are at the exactly same boat. This is my third iui and if it doesn't work, I will do ivf. I have my fingers crossed for both of us. I am a civil engineer. I have a full time job. But I love teaching so I recently decided to work as a math tutor again. I am being trained and maybe next week I will have my own SAT math students. So I will be VERY busy because I will continue to work as a full time Project Engineer. How about you?

Nata - April 18

Hi Galina. How are you today? As for me, I had my first follie check this morning. I have two dominant follies (I was not too excited about that) and some smaller ones. My next follie check will be on Friday. I believe I will have an iui on the weekend or maybe early next week. Hopefully two small follies will catch up with the two dominant ones. I will be very disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Galina - April 18

Hi Nata, sorry I did nor respond to you yesterday. I had a crazy day. That always happens when I take some time off and come back to a mess! How big are the 2 dominant follies? and the smaller ones? I recall reading in many places that dr's like to see 2-3 good mature follies for IUI's as opposed to many, like I had. I can tell you from personal experience on 2 IUI's that the # of follies don't matter. I had 7 mature follies both times and that got me nowhere. Don't be upset about that, I see it as good news and that quality is much better than quantity. So, I assume after your appt on Friday they dr will tell you when to do the HCG shot? Are you doing Ovidrel or Novarel for HCG? As far as what I do for a living, I am lawyer. I practice civil work and some family law. Wow, civil engineer!! You must be very smart! I am sad to say that I always hated math and to this day don't get it. Thank G-d my dh does the math homework w/our dd. Are you going to tutor the kids on your own or with an SAT prep course? I bet that will be of great enjoyment to you. I am off to work now. Talk to you soon.

Nata - April 18

Hi Galina. Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it. The two dominant follies are 9 & 11. I'm not sure about the small ones. My dr says she wouldn't like to see more than four mature follies. I hope I have at least three mature ones by Friday. I do Ovidrel for hcg. Yes, the dr will let me know on Friday when to do the trigger shot. Wow, lawyer! YOU must be the smart one! I won't tutor on my own. I am working with a SAT prep course. As a matter of fact, the course doesn't offer SAT tutoring exclusively. I might have younger students here and there but most of them will be SAT students. Do you have a full time job? How hard is it to raise a kid and have a full time job?

Lynn - April 18

Hey, sorry i went missing. it has been crazy. I am on Easter/spring break from school and trying to keep up with my injections. I went Monday for a follie check and had 7 follies on my right side with the largest being 9mm. I had 2 follies on my left side with the biggest being 13mm. I do not have a right tube seeing I had an ectopic pregnancy in Sept. 2005. I was bumped to 200iu for Monday and Tuesday and go back again on Wednesday morning for follie check. I cannot do an IUI seeing I have crappy insurance. Just a note, I got a BFP on my 1st try of follistim and IUI but ended in an ectopic. Do not give up hope with IUI's. Good Luck

Nata - April 18

Hey Lynn. Wow, you have a lot of follies, don't you? You are doing Follistim shots, right? Will you do the trigger shot? Good luck tomorrow with your follie check! Let us know how it went.

Galina - April 18

Hi Lynn, good luck tomorrow w/the dr appt. When do you think you will go in for IUI? You and Nata are probably going to be on similar schedules. Nata, being amom and full-time lawyer is fine. You just need to balance things out and I am a very organized person. At the beginning it was tough when I gave birth, I was 25 and in my last year of law school. I gave birth on a Sunday and went back to school the next Tuesday. Then I had to study for the Bar and barely had time to see her in the first 6 months. However, now things are more calm and we were very lucky to have a live-in nanny. Does your dh work full-time? How are you feeling? I have to fo work for a while and will check back later....:)
