Hi Newmommy, thanks so much! What does it say (the book)? Does it say not to take it after ov? Who's the author? Please let me know, I would like to find out more about wild yam roots. Yikes : ( I have them in my meds. Thanks again.

I didn't tell my doc. I just stopped taking them. I have found conflicting reports too. If there's a chance it could hurt conception then I'd rather not take it.

SANN~ the book is called "The Everything Getting Pregnant Book." It's kind of like the "dummies" books---there's a whole line of "The Everything...." books apparently. This one is by Robin Elise Weiss. It's pg. 67 if you just want to go to a bookstore to glance at it. It doesnt say much, just that some herbs should be completely avoided during the preconception period because they have a history of causing late periods of have a history of being used to actually prevent pregnancy. The list is: wild yam, St. John's Wort, Wild carrot (Queen Anne's lace), parsley seeds, dill seeds, caraway seeds, celery seeds, cumin seeds, Dong Quai, Blessed thistle, Stinging nettle, Oatstraw, and Pennyroyal. Hope this helps. I don't know much about herbs and such myself, and haven't even read what is in FertilAid. I think I may start on it next month. GOOD LUCK!

Hi ladies, Diem ... I know you mean, the conflicting reports and I would do the same too. Newmommy, thanks again. I'll definitely go look for it in the stores. I do know there're some herbs that you can use to help ov but it has to be stop once you get a +ve cos these herbs can cause contraction to the uterus hence early mc. For one I do know is rose buds and lavender which is very common with blended tea for it's floral scent, I'm not sure if you've heard of it. But my physician said to be very careful with blended teas. Yes, I read too .. the list you mentioned (except for wild yams) it's not to be taken after ov just like Epo. I guess, there're still lots of research to be done on wild yams. I read the book "The Infertility Cure" .. there're lots of prescription that has wild yams in it. I wonder if there's a difference if you take in a capsule form verses boiling/simmering it like what I have to do with my meds. This is all so confusing now ... thought there's some hope with wild yams to help ov along. Well ... just have to do more research. Good luck and baby dusts to all : )
