What is clomid and what does it do?

Thanks for the welcome back Gina! Mel, clomid is a drug that makes you ovulate. It is for those of us that either don't ovulate or don't produce eggs that are of good quality. It can make you ovulate more than one egg, so it gives you a better chance of producing a good one.

So how is everyone doing? I am on cd 26 today. last 4 days my temps keep going up. Ive had some cramping like pains but quite early to be signs of af. Im hoping she doesnt show her face this month! I think i O'd sometime last week. who knows lol. so confused. I bd a bunch tho so hopefully i did and this is the month. Julie how is everything? amanda when do u start clomid again? good luck to you all

Hey everyone.. well this month im not going to be doing clomid... my mom is in the hospital and is in coma... and is fighting for her life.. there is a big possiblity that she has lost alot of her brain function.... soooo they are doing another eeg today and to make sure that the first one was correct... dont know what is going to happen... sooo i would like everyone to pray for her..(shirley) we are looking for a mircle!!!!! thanks everyone and lots of baby dust to everyone.. if anyone would like to talk to me you can email me at [email protected]... take care

Well, for me af showed up on Sunday, so I have started another round of clomid today. I'm doing the brand this time, not the generic, so we shall see if there are any improvements in s/e or how it works. Sorry again to hear about your mom, Amanda. You are in my prayers, girl!

hello everyone amanda you and your mom are in my prayers hope to hear from you soon...........well i am on cd 11 i finished clomid on monday but i didnt have any side affects this time i dont know if thats a good sign or a bad sign my dr said that there where no cysts this month so i hope that this may be the month but thats all up to god...hope everyone else is having good luck talk to you all soon GOOD LUCK AND LOTS OF BABY DUST TO ALL!!!!!!!!!

Still no change in my temps so im questioning if i really o'd on cd 11 and 12 or not. Im not feeling so great this week. Im having ovarian pain on my left and right side, lots of heartburn and feeling quite sick to my stomache. Feels like af may show her face soon but its only cd 29 for me and thats really early. Angel, good luck this month with the clomid. This is round 1 of clomid for me and i had no side effects at all either, not during or after. Baby dust to you all

Hey everyone... well my mom passed away on the 13th... thanks again for all the prayers... i will not be on here anymore.. and i have stopped taking metformin and clomid... and will not be taking anymore fertility med... im going to try it naturally again for about a year or 2 ... and then i still nothing has happened then we will adopt... there are plenty of children out there that need a home and that need a mom and a dad... plus im going to be very busy .. thanks very one and i wish you all the best of luck and are in my prayers..

I feel awful to be the first one to write after reading Amanda's sad news, but I am at my wits end. I stopped taking bcp in April and have only had 2 periods with 4 negative hpts. My dr wants to put me on clomid if my period doesn't come this month. My husband and I are a bit hesitant so after reading how well you support one another on this forum, I am hoping you have room for 1 more. I am new to these forums and I don't know what a lot of the abbreviations mean! I am looking forward to hearing from all of you! Your stories are truly inspirational!!!

:o( Amanda, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom... and to hear you are dropping off the board. We'll be here for you if you want to come back, even if its just to say hello! If you do conceive naturally, let us know. I would be so excited for you. You were the one that told me that there was a difference between generic and non-generic clomid. I am taking the non-generic name brand Serophene (clomid). My symptoms have been a lot different! Still get hot flashes, but I'm not at all emotional, no headaches, no wierd bubbly feeling in the ovaries area. Hope I'm still making follicles. Will go to the doc on Thursday to find out. Then will do IUIs on Friday and Saturday. Welcome Shawna!!
