STILL WAITING FOR A PERIOD AFTER GOING OFF THE PILL

I am desperate to hear from anyone who has gone off the pill and has been waiting to get their period. I went off the pill nine months ago and I STILL haven't gotten my period. My doctor put me on Provera and Prometrium and neither worked to bring on a period. I am now going to meet with a reproductive specialist, but I am wondering if anyone else has gone through this and what was the outcome? I try not to think about it, but it's hard because I don't know what to expect. If anyone has any info, please share.

After I got off the pill, my periods were very late for a few months and then I stopped having one for two months. Provera started it last month and I'm on Provera again to start this month. I think the pill really screws up people's system especially when ttc after getting off them. Don't know if I helped any.....=)

After I came off the pill, my cycles were REALLY screwed up. I didn't have an af for over two months until my md finally put me on Provera. I probably would still be waiting for one if it wasn't for that med. Now I'm back to square one again. It's been over 32 days now since my Provera induced af and I haven't had another one yet. Just finished with the whole Am I Pregnant? thing only to be disappointed! So it's probably a good thing that your seeing a specialist. All I know is that BC can really mess up your reproductive system(as in no af, not ovulating, etc...)!!! I'm probably going to be enjoying a nice round of fertility drugs here soon. (sigh) If only this could be easier. Sorry, I couldn't be more of a help to you, but I seem to be in the same boat. Good luck and hope all goes well for you! *baby dust* your way!

Thank you for your feedback. When my husband and I decided to try to start a family, I never dreamed that I would be dealing with this. The emotions sometimes are overwhelming. I just wish I could get some answers. I appreciate the support that people post to this site. I at least don't feel alone...good luck to you too!

What kind of BC were you on? I was on ortho and my cycles were normal as soon as I got off of it. I stopped taking my pills in February and started ovulating the next month....

I was on Zovia for six years. What's weird is that I never had any issues with my period while I was on BC.

I was on BC for 10 years. I got off it last November and between November and May I only had my period twice. Since May my periods have become more regular, about 32 days. I never went to the doctor because many of my friends told me they had the same problem and it corrected itself in time, but 9 months does sound a little excessive. Hopefully the reproduction specialist will help. Good Luck
