PCOS -metformin & how long for ?

Hi guys!! well i am 23 yrs old never been pregnant had PCOS since i was 14. I have been taking metformin for about 4 mths now with no luck :( my periods are little and often and very light. How long does it take to get pregnant on metformin? and how long do u stay on it for wen u become pregnant?I have heared to come off it wen u find out by my doctor, some people 8 weeks, 10weeks , 12 weeks or all the way thru. Is there anyone on here with answers? i need ur help me and my fiance are dying for a child xx

Hi Katie- I have PCOS and have been on metformin for a year and a half. I just got a positive pregnancy test yesterday, but only after I used injectables to ovulate and an insemination to help the fertilization. I think I am supposed to take metformin until I am 12 weeks. Hope this helps.

Hi Aly0809 .. what kind of injections are they ? i have been on metformin for about 4 mths and nothing my doctor told me to wait for 6 mths to see any change. im willing to have a injection as me and my partner want a baby so much and nothing has happened. CONGRATULATIONS !! baby dust to all !!
