just coming off of the depo shot

I have been on the depo shot for years and i've only been off of it for a week. I was told by my GYN that I may not receive my period or be able to conceive for 18 months.Has anyone that has been on the depo gotten their period and conceived before 18 months and if so how long did it take?

Hi, my neighbour was on depo for 3 yrs, came off it, got her period straight away and got pregnant 2 months later! Me, I was on it for 9 months, no period for 4 month after coming off it then when I did bleed it was anything from 1 day to 6 weeks, then blood tests also showed I wasnt ovulating, periods became more regular after a year off depo but still 20 months later I am unable to conceive! So I guess we are all different and what happens will happen when its ready.....good luck!
