My doctor has prescribed me this for the next 12 months. We have been trying to get pregnant for 1 1/2 yrs. It says on bottle not to take if pregnant/trying to become. My Dr. said it is fine.

I like this site. For some reason I can't respond to other posts?

Are you taking pills or suppositories? What did he say they are for? I have only taken them (suppositories) to support my luteal phase, and then stopped when I got my period or a negative beta. I also took the pills orally one cycle to "trick my body" into thinking I o'd when I hadn't, so that I would get my period.... just curious about why you are taking it... if you don't mind me asking. Smiles and Babydust... t

I am 9 weeks pregnant we did IVF I have done progesterone injections for 1 1/2 months starting tomorrow I start prometrium 200mg 2x a day its a natural progesterone it supports the uterin lining to continue to thicken it to support a pregnancy. I understand your concerns when I brought the bottle home today and read the same thing and said ok I am pregnant but I have spoken with my RE and he said he approves of it my OB prescribed it. I also used to take it to bring on my period when I needed to get AF. If you read the packet they give you for prometrium it also says what its prescribed for and if your doctor see basically another reason for it. Good luck.
