I'm sorry guys....I can't type today...lol I meant HE didn't test her because he said HE knew she wasn't pregnant.

Well, we've made another decision. We are not going to ttc this month or next month. We're not going to see Dr. Rehman. I decided I just wanted to rest. We will go see Dr. Barnett the end of next month and hopefully start ttc again in Sept.

Hey girls! Sorry it's been a while. I've been meaning to check in with all you but things have been a little crazy! On Friday my hubby had varicocele surgery, so I've been taking care of him. BAF--congrats on your BFP! That's wonderful!! Hannah-I'm so sorry this 1st round of IVF didn't take. I'll be keeping you in my prayers that this next one will do the trick. Tink--how is your pregnancy coming along? I bet you are SO ready to have that little boy in your arms!! Jenna--I'm so sorry that this round didn't take. I hope after this break you get your BFP! I completely understand the run around with CAR and Dr. Nackley. She was my Dr before I switched to Dr. Le. I was NOT happy with her and I NEVER got to see or speak with her. Her nurses might as well have been my Dr!!! Also, I felt like they were just out to take our money, because they NEVER listened to me about my concerns about my husband's low counts and his need to see a urologist, they just kept trying to get our money for injectables/IUI and IVF . Then I switched to Dr. Le, and we LOVE him. We went to him ready to shell out the money for IVF, and he told us to keep our money, hold off on IVF, and go have my hubby checked out, which turned out that his problem could be fixable with surgery and it was covered by insurance, unlike IVF! I would recommend Dr. Le, but I don't know if he works with donor sperm. BUT...I've heard great things about Dr. Barnett, so I hope it goes great for you and that by the end of Sept you have that BFP!!! Jaqi--We have the same Dr!!! I'll be praying that your round of IVF takes in the fall!!! Isn't Dr. Le great?!?!

Do any of you know of accupunturist (sp) that specializes in infertility in the the more Fort Worth area? Was it you Jenna, that said you saw someone in Southlake? I've really been thinking about going to see one. Do any of you know what the going rate is for a session? Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't cover it. Surprise, Surprise! As for my TTC journey, well this cycle is definitely a bust because there has been no action because of my Hubby's surgery. We are hoping and praying that this surgery will help correct his problem and within the next year we will be able to conceive naturally. That is if I can get my PCOS uncontrol, hence my interest in accupuncture!! Wishing you all the best! You all are always in my thoughts and prayers! Oh, and have we made any arrrangements for a girls days out where we can all meet up? I think that would be WONDERFUL!!! Take care everyone!!!!

Hey Jenna, I'm glad your going to rest a bit. I am sorry your doctor "jacked" you around. Everything will be fine girl, just stay patient. I know it's hard to say...believe me I know!!!! Stacitx- Hey, I loveeeeeeeeeeee Dr. Le and Dr. Haas!! They are so awesome. I finally have the money for IVF, thanks to him thinking about people before money. Granted, I wish it was a little bit cheaper BUT I cannot complain about 6-8K vs the Doodys at 17K!! My dr. first suggested the Doodys because she said people wanted someone closer to FW. I told her Dr. Le has that Arlington office now, so she was glad to hear that. She said he is great also! His stats are just as good as the Doodys from what I've seen. Yea, Jenna said Dr. Wright in Southlake 817-488-4186. I saw one Dr. Le's office referred me to BUT she was in Plano. Dr, Le said not to take any herbs and stuff. I called Dr. Wright's office and the first visit they said was $145 and any after that is about $90 a session. I had to cancel my appt because I got called into court that week (I'm a cop), so I need to reschedule and see what they can do for me. From my house in South FW it's about 30 minutes or so w/o traffic. I've been around there before. Have you tried IVF before?

Tink - July 6

Staci, welcome back! hope your hubby is recovering well. so glad switching doctors was the right thing for you. so happy it is working out better. as for acupuncture- i used someone in Richardson- but it was about $65 per session- the first session was $80. i went once a week during my IVF. it was so nice and relaxing. my insurance did not cover it either, but you can use flexible spending if you have that through work. Jaqi, good luck on starting IVF in sept. it is an exciting time! it will go fast too and before you know it, you are waiting for your beta! Jenna- hi- hope you are doing well! i am anxiously awaiting a call from the OB, they had me do bloodwork yesterday, apparently my last urine test at 20weeks made them think i might have gallstones. the extra estrogen in pregnancy can make them form. so i am waiting to hear the news. if i do have them, it can be as easy as diet changes or prescirptions, but if they are bad, it would require surgery, during pregnancy- they say second tri is ideal. i am almost 23 weeks now. so that is a scary thing to thikn about. we will see.

Hello everyone! We've been in St. Louis so it was nice catching up with what is going on w/ everyone. I called Dr. Le's office and they were able to get us in tomorrow so we are going to go ahead and have a consultation with him. I'm excited. I was able to get my records from CAR which I'm hoping will be a help to him in determining what to do next. My dh is really upset with CAR and wants to write a letter but I told him to wait until we get our sperm transferred :) Dr. Wright's office does offer acupuncture packages and will usually work with you regarding payment. The receptionist there is new so if you have any issues just talk directly to Dr. Kendall. I wish everyone a wonderful week. I will let you guys know how my appt. goes.

Jennacat - July 9

We met with Dr. Le today and I was thoroughly impressed. He said that "he wouldn't even call what we were doing at CAR a first treatment". We were pretty appauled. All we can think about is all the money we spent at that place. Dr. Le said that "since I was bleeding 7 days after an IUI that we were just wasting sperm the last 3 IUI's". So we are getting our sperm transferred and will be starting next month with Dr. Le. We are feeling very positive. Dr. Le gave us a plan that we feel good about. He clearly knows what he doing.

Hannah B - July 10

Hi Girls, just checking in with you all. I just got back from vacation. A much needed rest. Wow, so much is going on. Jenna, I'm glad you got to go see Dr. Le. I wish you the best of luck. I'm sorry your experience with CAR didn't turn out the way you expected it to. I hope Dr. Le can make things work for you. Jaqi, you said that Dr. Le is 6-8K does that include your medicine or is that separate? You also said that CAR was 17K. I was just curious about that because I know I paid out of pocket (up front cash) 6100.00 at CAR for my first IVF cycle. I am filing with insurance on my own because I did find out that all of our doctors charge more to insurance because the bottom line is they are making money off of us because they have to provide a service before insurance even pays them. I was just curious. Staci, when are you going to be able to start your next process with Dr. Le. What has he suggested be the next treatment. Tink, how are you feeling? Wow, 23 weeks. That's awesome. Well I meet with Dr. Nackley this week (the most dreaded doctor on this thread. hehehe.) I'm excited to see what she has in store. Tink, I think your right, since we didn't do injectibles previously, I strongly believe this first cycle was a trial and error. We knew that going into it--so we are okay with it. Like I've said in the past, we are lucky that Insurance covers a lot. I'm still going to take the next couple of months off to lose some weight and get back into playing tennis again. I had started playing before we decided to try again and then have been getting a bit lazy. So hopefully this will keep me busy when we start our next cycle. I think we have at least one more IVF cycle and then switch back to the Injectible cycles after that if it doesn't work. After that if it doesn't work, then it's the world's way of telling me it wasn't meant to be. Which is okay to. I will have to accept the fact that it isn't the doctor's fault, but that my body is not equiped to do what it is suppose to do. Either way, it's okay.

Tink - July 10

jenna, great news on the new doc, so glad you have a renewed sense of hope with him!! i can't wait to hear how things go. it must feel nice to know you were right all along and your doc just didn't give you the attention he should have based on the issues you were having with the bleeding. i think this could be a great thing for you with a new start. Hannah- welcome back!! i think getting back into tennis is a great idea. i really enjoyed feeling like 'me' again on the 'break' cycles i had. of course mine were forced breaks due to cysts, but it was nice getting back to feeling normal and not on drugs! lol---i am sure it will do the body and spirit good. well i have an u/s scheduled at plano presby for thursday- with radiology to check for gallstones. so that is scary. my urine and b/w came back elevated so they suspect gallstones. we will see what happens on thursday then.

Hannah B - July 12

Hi Tink, how was your doctor's appointment today about your Gallstones? I hope it isn't anything serious. Well I visited with my doctor today and am feeling confident about the next cycle. We discussed various option and are going to be a bit more aggressive with the treatment. I'm going to keep positive that everything works out. I'm actually getting a bit more excited about it. We probably won't actually do the next cycle until September or October just because I want to relax for a while. So what's going on with everyone.

Tink - July 13

Hannah that is great news. i am glad you are feeling good about the next cycle too. i think having a good attitude about it helps as well. i can't wait for you to get started again in sept or oct. in the meantime, just enjoy having a break. i know i did. especially since it is summer- you don't ahve to worry about being all bloated! ;) Jenna- how are things for you? well the u/s showed nothing in my gallbladder, so everything checked out fine. I have my next ob appt next week for 24weeks, so we will see if she thinks my b/w could be something else besides gallstones like she thought. other than that, i am just very tired, really dying in this heat/humidity now that the rain has stopped and it is getting so hot! how are you guys holding up in the rain and heat?

Jennacat - July 13

Tink...I'm not fond of the hot weather. As much as I don't like driving in the rain I think I prefer it over the heat. Looks like today we may get more rain. We leave Sunday for Estes Park, CO. My dh parents are there so we are going to visit them for a week. My parents are coming along too, so it's going to be really fun. I'm glad everything was ok with your gallbladder. Let us know what your ob says. Have you settled on a name yet?

Jaqi - July 15

Hey guys, how is everyone? HannaB- When I had called last year, the CAR nurse on the phone said an estimated price would be around $17K for one round of IVF. I just saw on the website where it said it was $6100 plus meds. I don't know why she told me that. But still...I have also heard you hardly see the docs there, you see more of the nurses. Someone I know who went there said she felt like a production line. I don't know though. Dr. Le is 4300K before meds. They said meds are anywhere from 2-3K, depending on what you need. For me, AARC it's still cheaper than CAR. Plus, I love how the staff and docs are friendly and caring. Dr. Le has great stats I think, so hopefully he can add us to one of the successes! I hop everyone is doing well with this heat! I will write later....I am at work and have 12 reports to do. I hate computers!!! lol They always want to crash when I have reports to do!!!

Hannah B - July 16

Jaqi, that's weird how the nurse would have quoted that. Yeah if someone there told me that it would cost that much, I would have shy away from it as well. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for others, I've had great success with seeing the doctors there. I've only seen a nurse twice for sonograms. Other than that my inseminations have always been performed by my doctor or one other doctor. I'm familiar with Dr. Le, he actually is a sponsor for the charity organization I work with. I think the bottom line for us all is that we find the doctor that we are most comfortable with during this hard time. Tink, I'm so glad the gallstone isn't an issue. You are well on your way to seeing your new little boy. How exciting.

Stacitx - July 16

Hey girls!! Hope you are all doing well. Hubby and I are playing the waiting game to see if his surgery helped our situation with his counts and all! We won't know for another 3 months! Geez! So for now, I'm just focusing on weight loss and taking a break from fertility meds, treatments, and TTC'ing! I've been dealing with a little depression the last couple of days. I think its just hormones, but I always think that I don't always address how much infertility affects me, even when I'm not actively trying. Do any you ever feel or experience that? I'm glad to read that all is going well for everyone! I'm still going to try and pop in and check on everyone even though we are taking a break!! Wishing you all the best and I hope your pregnancy keeps going smoothly for ya Tink!!
