Hi angelkitty, my husband works for Blue Cross, so yes, our insurance if, fortuante for me, very good, we have PPO and it covers infertility treatments and IVF. I also have Aetna from work which covers the rest. Halloween was fun, the kids loved it! They were asking to slap my butt! It was so fun. Ok, what day is everyone on in their cycle? I am on CD 5 today...let's see who ovulates first this month....

I ask because my husband's company is in the process of open enrollment and we have a choice between United Healthcare and BlueCrossBlueShield. I probably need to do some digging myself. Thanks lady. OK - I am on CD3. What about everyone else?

Pick the Blue Cross, although we don't pay for insurance out of pocket, I have heard the premiums are higher, but really it is a great insurance, never a hassle and covers so much. But I don't know much about United Healthcare... look at their fertility clauses and compare, I would guesstimate that Blue Cross covers IVF and Healthcare covers only fertility diagnostics and IUS if that even.

Hi Angel Kitty, Just dropping in! But I read your post and wanted to add this tidbit. When chosing your new carrier make certain that your infertility/treatments are not considered "existing condition". Is that the right lingo? A friend on mine changed insurance right before she became pregnant and b/c she was "ttc" her new insurance refused to pay for her baby's birth. she's paying 12k out of pocket. ouch! Pam

Hi all, Gosh, all the insurance sounds confusing, here in Canada, all is the same, we just have a gov card and go to the drs as needed. So, I am cd9, a few before Linds, but ovulate later than her, cd18 usually.

linds99 - November 1

Hi lovemy3, who knows, you may ovulate sooner than me, I'm not taking meds until after ovulation...so who knows what my o'date will be this time...You are lucky you live in canada, and not have to worry about soaring HC costs, it just sucks. I can see how it detroys people here in the U.S. financially, especially us women who have infertility. I give my progesterone leftovers to another woman at my clinic because it costs $600 for three boxes, 3-weeks. Since my insurance covers them, and hers doesn't...It doesn't make sense here in the U.S.

Linds, that is very nice of you! I have Aetna and my husband has Blue cross but I am not covered under him! It would cost him too much! Aetna gives $5,000 towards Infertility...drugs are covered, I just have a copay! I am having a crappy, crabby day and work has been crazy! Midterm#2 is coming up...so I am stressed and I am going to look in to acupuncture!

I did accupuncture last August. It really didn't do much for me. But, I will say this, find someone that does the scented candles, a mood music stuff because I have heard that deepens the experience, makes it more relaxing. My doctor was actually a chiropractor, and was so "in and out" didn't do anything to relax me.

Hi all... I am feeling slightly better today but my step-dhtr is in the hospital with impacted bowel issues so that has put a damper on my day. I have to call dh and find out if he has checked on her yet. Other than that, things are just ok! AF started full flow yesterday, so I am on cd2, I guess!

Dh and I went to the doc...no clomid. He said he did not feel comfortable w/ giving it to me because I am ovulating very well on my own. He said that we are both perfectly normal and it is jsut a matter of time. In my heart I know he is right. I have to admit maybe I have been freaking myself out about all of this and maybe I should just calm down. I started crying which upset dh and the doc. I told him that my sis is preg and she only tried once. He plainly looked at me and said you are not your sister and you do not want to be like her. Yoiu need to be you. Good advise. Well ladies that is about it with me. Have a good night.

Hi angelkitty, that is great news...there is nothing wrong with you! Hooray! I wish that for me, your are lucky you don't have PCOS or endo or anything else. This is wonderful. Your doctor sounds like a very solid one, as he is not easy to get you to start on something just because "we think we need it." Clomid sucks in a lot of ways, although I won't deny it has helped women get pregnant. If your body is apparently working good and DH, I say we start investigating your diet and vitamin intake. Like I mentioned before, maybe this cycle you can start taking the evening primrose oil to increase your egg white cervical mucous in the first half of the cycle. Some women take baby aspirin during the follicular phase to build up the lining of their uterus (get blood going there) and look at your pre-natal vitamins and find the vitamins you may be missing in them. I know that my citrical prenatal didn't have all the vitamins I need as a PCOSer, so I had to add a few extra, like biotin for cell development and B12, as well as magnesium for stronger bones. You'd think that a prental vitamin would have everything, but they don't. I say keep temping, using the ovulation sticks and investigate your diet more closely this time around. What do you think?

lovemy3 - November 3

hey linds...read your post on the other thread for cysts. Gosh, you are incredible with all your info, what a blessing to this board. what kind of vitamins do you think we should take? what fixes PCOS, does weight loss correct it? I have all the symptoms since I have gained weight. how are you doing, what part of your cycle are you on? have you heard anything from celstia?
