I have been having mucuse discharge that comes out when i wipe am i ovulating it always happens 1and a half before my period

some of us get mucous all month long, it just changes around ovulation to be eggwhite. if you dont know when you ovulate buy opk's, start charting temps, checking height of cervix and if the cervix opening called the OS is open or closed. Soon you'll be able to tell even if you cant read your mucous signs.

mine sometimes is brown---is that ok ?

The cm a day and a half before af? That is not ovulation I would bet. And brown is blood. Blood turns brown if it takes awhile to come down.
