I just had my lap done yesterday. I had not spoken with the doctor afterward... Does anyone know how long I have to wait before I can BD? AF ended on thursday and lap was friday... which means that O is nearing and I don't want to miss it this month... Is there anyone out there who got pregnant immediately after her lap? thanks!

Hi Karen. I went to the hospital for my 1:50 operation at 11:00am. I didn't get in until almost 4. I laid on the operating table then they put the IV in my right hand, stuck the heart moniters to me, then put me under. When I woke up in the recovery room I was really groggy and coughed a lot. I assume it was because of the tube down my throat. I found it really hard to stay awake so eventually I stopped fighting it. I don't remember any pain when i first woke up, just a little ache above my pubic line. I couldn't help but to touch and feel it, it is where one of my incisions were. that is the only one i could feel. After another 20mins or so, i could start to feel the pain. They gave me a shot of demerol and gravol in my butt. The pain didn't really go away and i felt sick. I slept alot waking up only a couple times for a few mins. They gave me tylenol 3's for the pain. I took one last night and was out until about 9:30 this morning. Today I am feeling really achy and took the bandaid off my belly button incision. Looks gross. I feel the most pain in my right side of the abdomen. It hurts to cough or laugh sit down or stand up. I am usually very good with pain, but this is sharp pain when it hits and uncomfortable. I can walk around butonly for shoprt periods of time. I am allowed to shower after today and until the incisions are healed only showers when i feel comfortable; no baths. All in all, it is not really a bad experience. If it came to the point where i had to have it again, it would be ok. Oh i forgot... I have what feels like a gas bubble in my ribs and in my shoulders (from when they put air in me to move my organs apart)... and I have been pretty gassy all day. If you are to have this done, I don't really have anything horrible to say about it. Good luck, please keep me updated! my email is [email protected] if you want to talk.
