Hi Katie! I had my 1st appt. with my RE at the end of July, they did the HSG a couple days later. Then end of August I was supposed to have my 1st IUI, but we had vacation planned during that timeframe so we had to wait til the next cycle for the IUI. Then I had a cyst so we had to further delay it for a few weeks. I didn't have my 1st IUI til mid October. There's a lot of testing fertility drs like to do first, so waiting til Feb for the IUI is probably a good idea. I ended up testing this AM, & got a BFN. Today or tomorrow realistically is when AF should show up, so I'm hoping I'm just not producing enough HcG for a BFP yet, but realistically I am probably not pregnant this cycle. We'll see. I'll keep you posted. Thanks! Good luck with your dr's appt. on the 19th. Anything else new with you?

Hi all. Katie/Mega, it sounds like we all have a lot in common. I am going for my 2nd iui next week. My first one was very painful, but from what I have read now, I think it was done a little too early. We have been ttc for about a year and a half. My husband did his test (fine) and I did 3 tests to check eggs (fine), check for o (I am oing), and tube blockage (not blocked). I don't know what is wrong with me!! It is very depressing at times. I am happy when I hear someone is pg, but I think, "Why not me??"

Hi Ann. Good luck with your 2nd IUI. It must be very frustrating to know that you both checked out fine but to still be trying a 1.5 later. Hopefully the IUI is the only leg up you'll need. I'm happy too when other people are pg, but I agree with you, it is hard not to wonder sometime why you can't just join there ranks. I'm going to a party tomorrow night where they'll be 1 maybe 2 pg women there & I just got a BFN today on my HPT. I really thought my 2nd IUI was it for me. Oh well, on to the next cycle I guess. Good luck. Keep us posted on how cycle 2 goes. I found my 2nd IUI was much less painful than my 1st. Hopefully yours won't be as bad this time either.

Glad to know someone else is wondering what is going on w/her body! I am having a party tonight and one girl is pg. She is planning a wedding in feb and got pg w/o trying. I am very envious...happy for her of course, but envious...

Thanks! :) My DH doesn't understand when I try to tell him how I feel. But I think it's natural to feel at least some envy when it comes sooo easy to some people. Well this board proves our boat is pretty big--there are lots of people out there scratching their heads trying to figure out what's happening with their bodies! :) Hope we all get our answer soon.

Mega ; Hi glad to hear from you , i can tgo tru this things alone ! be strong (as im sure you are ) maybe you tested too early , when is your Af due? nobody undrestand what we are talking about until the have same pain , i didnt want to go to new year party but im doing it for my husband is just too painfull and more painfull when others dont care and they dont try to becareful and be gentle with us ! hope you r party gone go well , just know you are not alone im feeling the same thing , i did have pray for you yesterday i will have it again ! here nothing special , 10 days to go , i hope DR is not gone tell me i have to wait few months and I DO HATE all those fritility test ! hope one day i can say to my kid what i have been tru for him or her ! have a good weekend and let me know how you doing!

HI Ann; yes sounds like we havea lot in common ! beside you and Mega have doen IUI already but im still waiting for DR appt !, is this your first baby? how long did you have to wait to do IUI? hope your second one gone be without pain , good luck to you and let us knwo about your IUI .

Hi katie, we have been ttc to a year and a half. My dr suggested clomid and iui after one year. I think she might have suggested iui sooner due to my age and the surgeries I had. Yes, if I ever can have one, it will be my first. No one in my "real" life even knows we are trying, because I don't want any pity if it never works. I just say, "I'm not sure if I want any kids," even though I am really bummed about it. When is your af due? Is this your first as well? Good luck!

Hi Mega, I can relate when you talk about your dh. My dh sort of denies that there is even a problem getting pg. It is sort of odd. Maybe he just hopes it will work and doesn't want to acknowledge that it may not. Also, my dh has a child from a previous marriage, so I can't help but wonder if he isn't as upset about it because he already has a child. He says that isn't a factor, but I think if I already had one I wouldn't be as depressed about it...I don't know...like katie says, it seems like you have to go through this to understand. I am glad to hear that your 2nd iui was better. Have you done another test yet, assuming your af hasn't arrived?

Hi Ann , i just can imagine how hard is for you , and this is not kind thing you want talk about it , i also only said to my mom for the rest i just keep showing that nothing is wrong ,we didnt try last month i have enough of getting _ so we thought go to DR and see what she can do for us !hope she will agree to do IUI im just praying , good luck with your IUI and let us how you doing , you are not alone just dont forget that !

I am glad that you have a mom you can talk to. My mom passed away a few years ago. Has your dr tested you for anything regarding inrfertility? When is your dr appt?

Ann ; i guess you used my name(by mistake) in your last respond ! :) ! very sorry about your mom ! well mine lives far a way i get to see her once a year but im glad she is there . i dont have any problem im healty my husband have problem down there !! no DR could help us until now so im hoping after almost 2 years of trying i can have IUI ! i have Appt on dec 19 , i know this would be my last hope ! you wrote that you are both healty so did Dr said why you cant PG?by the way im afraid of all that test before IUI are they difficult ?

katie, I did enter your name by mistake. I guess that is one con for boards that don't force you to log in! You asked me about tests before the iui. I am not sure what, if any, tests you have already taken. After we had been trying for a year, my dr wanted to run tests. First, she had my dh get his "count" taken by giving a sample to a lab. After that came back fine, she did three tests on me. I can't remember what they were all call, but one checks how your eggs are, one tests for ovulation, and one checks for tube blockage. The first two are just blood tests but the tube blockage one is more invasive (think it is abbreviated hsg, if I remember correctly). They insert dye into you and flush it through your tubes. If you haven't done any of those tests, that is probably where your dr will start. Prior to the iui, my dr didn't run any additional tests. When is your appt w/your dr? Has your dr given you anything yet to help you get pg (e.g. clomid, etc)?
