I feel that Depo is the worst form of BC every created. It sounded wonderful at first, but it isn't. I used it for about 9 months (3 shots) and right before I stopped I had my period for two months straight. Since being off it, I got my period twice in one month...and now I haven't had it for a month and a half. I am currently sexually active but using only condoms for my form of contraception. I am panicked now that I might be pregnant due to my late period, but realize it could just be because of Depo. I've been off it for 3 1/2 months now, and have not had unprotected sex since my last period. I am hoping this is all because of the shot because pregnancy is the last thing I want. However, if it is because of depo then it is just giving me unwanted STRESS!

I got the injection 3 days after the delivery of my son, I do not recommend the shot to anyone!!! It has been 6 months and I have been spotting on and off, trying to concieve, but no luck yet. Everyone just keep me in your prayers!

I was on the shot for 6 yrs. I have been off the shot for almost a year and still not pregnant :(. Im so scared that i caused my own infertility by getting this shot for so long but I want to mention I do have a 7 year old child and started the Depo the day after he was born. So I know could get pregnant but I'm not sure anymore. Does anyone have a similar experience??

Anti-Depo - November 8

I had one shot ten years ago. I had spotting for three months straight. They put me on BC to regulate my period. I've been off BC for over a year now and still can't get pregnant. I can't help, but think it's my fault because I had that stupid Depo shot.

Hello all....I got one depo shot in June..Uggg......Decided i wanted to ttc in September. I just had my first real peiod since then, it's pretty sad when a woman is happy to start her peroid and be regular again so she can feel nornal. The shot totally messed me up, mentaly and physically. With my moods i cant belive i still have a man to ttc with. hehe...anyhow im very excited to start really trying now that my cycle is back. good luck to everyone here

I had the Depo shot for 6 yrs (which did what it claimed but maybe too well, dont recommend this bc) my DH and I have been trying for almost a year in March of 2005 I was on the BC patch to start my cycle (just one box-or month) I did start getting one regularly. Monday I took a PG test (First Response) and got a light pink positive line (2 lines showed), I was over joyed but still going to retest Fri to be sure since I would have concieved between 10/22-10/24. DH works out of town and thats the weekend I went down to visit. If I am PG its still very early in. Im hopeful its a BFP! I say all this to keep u all confident that it may still be possible to get PG after exposing ourselves to that killer Depo. I'm staying positive and hopeful for all of us that soon we'll all get those BFPs that we want. Tons and tons of ~Baby Dust~ to all.

Iwas on the depo shoy 8 yrs. ago after my son was born. been trying to concieve for atleast five now. reading these has gotten me to think it might be the depo. I went off of this because of continuous spotting and i was only on it for about nine months. I had to take the pill to regulate. Will I ever concieve again?

Hi, I was also on Depo, as was my best 2 friends and we have ALL had exactly the same infertility problems! None of us could get our periods, I didn't have one for over a year coming off Depo. Then I went on the pill, and did get regualr periods.(3 months on bcp). When I went off the pill my cycles went to 14 - 20 days, I had my period every 2 weeks!!!! This went on for 6 months!!! Now I am going on clomed, this is my 2nd month, and still at 20 day cycles. I am not o'ing, and now I may be developing pcos, as both of my friends did. They do both have children now, but both went through extensive ( and painful and costly, and long ) fertility treatment, and both had very difficult preg, one got gestational diabetes, and one had high blood pressure, both were on bed rest at 7 months. Depo is great, but not if you want to ever have children! or are in a hurry too! I do think they should warn you of this a little more when you start it.

i have been trying for 6 months came of me deoe 2 months ago why havent i got caught pregant

Baby Gurl - January 1

Actually - yes the depo could still be in your system. I was on the Depo for 2 years and when i got off it took me over a year and a half to have a regular period.

alison jean - January 3

i've been on the depo shot for 5 months and the past 2 weeks i've been nauseous and have even thrown up a couple times. but i haven't been sick nor have had the flue. the last time i have experienced this was almost 2 years ago when i found out i was pregnant. how would i go about finding out if am? would a pregnancy test from the store detective it if i am or is it something blood work can only do?

JamaiacanLady617 - January 30

yes the depo can still be in your system it can take a whole year for it to go away. But when you get on depo it changes your cycle. it will not be regular for a while, the same thing happen to me. if your still concerned i would go to the doctors
