Hi Everyone,
First time I have ever come onto a forum so not exactly sure what I need to write here!
My husband (34) and I (28) have been trying to conceive for the last 3 years with no luck at all.
We were both tested for fertility issues and my husband came back with a higher than average sperm count and I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndome (PCOS) and Anovulation.
I was told that I needed to lose weight so my body could ovulate naturally, went down from 130kgs (285lbs) to 105kgs (230lbs) and I still have not ovulated naturally and it has been 7 months since losing the weight.
I went back to my GP 3 months ago and he prescribed me Metformin 1500mg/day.
The side effects were horrible at first, the decreased appetite and nausea. I would find myself gaggy after I ate and the feeling that I had to throw up throughout the day.
Once these side effects passed I found that I had diarrhoea all day everyday and it just didnt stop. GP said to just persevere with the Metformin, which I did and now have no side effects! YAY!!
Only problem is, still no ovulation :( So I have now been given a referral to a fertility specialist. He has suggested I lose more weight and start taking Clomid, has anyone had any success with these two drugs?

I have no problems, I have regular 28day cycle, found out no blockages after having my tubes flushed out, now im on my 2nd round of clomid which i finished today so I will let you know if i have any success with it. Oh forgot to mention they said my DH sperm count was sluggish however he did have a good sperm count at 18mill. Good luck to you - hope it all works out for you x
