New thread...

Mega - April 6

That time already, huh? We do fill up these threads fast. I just finished posting to the old one. I'll just do a quick cut & paste into this one too. :)

Mega - April 6

Okay, here's the cut & paste of my last posting on the old thread::: Galina--what a small "world," huh? That's funny that you've met the gf of the RE you're seeing today. Good luck with that appt. by the way. I'm eager to hear how it goes. And I hope you're connection pays off for you! Networking--gotta love it. That's good that the article confirmed what I've heard about freezing not losing any potentcy. I'm not 100% sure we'll even use this sample but it's good insurance, but wherever possible I'd rather have the fresh stuff. I'm glad that's a viable option for those poor men going thru chemo though. Ann--well that's good at least that you don't have to do the interviews, but I gather today is just business as usual. Yes, that's exactly the spot where I'm getting my shots, the upper 1/4th quadrant of my butt/hips region, something like that. Hopefully DH can figure out the right spot & miss a blood vessel too. I'll let you know tomorrow if it's an ouchy spot. You're doing your shots subq, right? On the tummy? You know, the IM meds probably weren't any cheaper than the subq after all. The way my dr was talking, it sounded like I might get them for like $750, $800 or so but it turned out to be $994. Oh well, I knew there was a good chance I'd be spending something in that neigborhood. ChristinaC--That's the theory at least. I never managed to grow more than 1 mature follie on Clomid, so we'll see how much better I respond to the Repronex. My dr was talking like he expected me to grow at least 3 or 4 follies now. Good luck with the Clomid cycle. Are you getting monitored via u/s? How many follies did you have for this IUI?

ChristinaC - April 6

I feel really greatful that i stumbled along this website and met you girls.. by reading what each of you log, i'm getting to know your experiences to put with my own.. it's good to know we can be there for each other. I had 3 follicles my first try with clomind & IUI. This time my doc didn't advise for getting an ultrasound to see how many this time. I wish she had so i can know what i'm up against you know? So how long do you have to be on the shots? and does this increase your chances? My doc says they like to do only 3 round of IUI's then see about shots next. I wish you all the very best of luck!

Thanks ChristineC. I'm glad you've joined us, too. I'm glad to have found this board as well, it's been a godsend. It's wonderful chatting with so many different ladies with different but similar experiences, drawing from each other. :) Wow, 3 follies on your 1st Clomid/IUI, that's a wonderful response. That's what I'm hoping for this time w/ Repronex. Are you working with an OB or RE? I agree, it's too bad that you're not getting closer monitoring this time, over stimming can happen on Clomid as well, plus it would be nice for you to know the # of follies each cycle. How did the dr know when to trigger you then without the u/s monitoring? Did you chart or use OPKs? I think probably 3 Clomid/IUI cycles before switching to injectibles is probably a good idea. Although hopefully you won't have to worry about the injectibles. I'm not really sure how many days I'll be on the shots, I guess it depends on how well & how fast I respond. I'll be doing them every night from tonight thru Sunday, then on Monday I have my 1st u/s & e2 blood draw and I guess we'll go from there.

Mega - April 6

Lilly2, yes, I just read your posting on the older thread. Thanks for your prayers & well wishes. The 12th is your next Beta? Good luck. It sounds like more symptoms are appearing so that's a good sign I'd say. Are you going to wait til the 2nd trimester to start telling everyone? That seems to be when most people start announcing. I'm not sure I'd be able to wait that long or not. So one of your dogs is pregnant, too? How funny. You have American Bulldogs, right? How cute. I love bulldogs, all dogs really. I actually have a Bullmastiff myself, a cross breed of an English Bulldog & a mastiff. He's our spoiled "little" fur baby. 110 ibs. of pure love (& drool).

Galina - April 6

Hi guys, Lilly, you sound so happy and cute and funny on your last post on the other thread. I am so very happy for you. Kep eating and enjoy this time of your life when you can eat, eat and eat. Mega, you must be very excited w/this new cycle. Iam going to live vicariously through you and Ann this month and be nervous and excited during this injection time! My dh and I want to get a bigger dog right now. What is a good breed that is a good guard dog but also friendly with kids? Now we have a dog, or I should say, Brittany has a dog, a Pikenese and his name is Bugsy.

ChristinaC - April 6

I know i agree, i wish to know them each month. We'll jsut keep on doing this until we're to try something new. My husbands motiltiy was up 25% percent from the first one we did. So anything is hopeful. Congrats Lilly.. How exciting! :)

Mega - April 6

Galina--Bullmastiffs are wonderful big protective dogs and they LOVE their kids. That's a big reason we got the breed we did. Kafka (our dog) loves my DH so much but the second he feels like Derr is about to threaten me in any way his protective instinct flares up & he's hyper alert til we stand him down. They're not prone to attacks but they are very protective of their whole family. Read about the breed--you'll fall in love & want one of your own. I'm sure of it. And watching a big old bullmastiff playing with a Pekenese would be sooo cute too. Yes, I am pretty excited right now. I'll probably be pretty nervous by the time 9 rolls around though. Again, good luck with your appt. today. I hope you get great advice from this dr. ChristinaC--Wow, sounds like your DH's motility has improved quite a bit. That's great. Do you have him on a vitamin regimine? We have male issues too, my DH has low morphology (5%). But there's still plenty of success stories with male issues & IUI. So you're right to feel hopeful this month. All it takes is 1 sperm meeting 1 egg!

ChristinaC - April 6

ladies, what is DH? dumb question lol

Hi Ladies, I woke up this morning thinking of you and praying for you. Mega, it's funny that you ask about my symptoms. I will say that I was really looking for symptoms every month for the lest year, and saw and felt many, that were NOTHING. That's the frustrating part. I remember feeling 2 sharp pains about 30 mins. after the IUI. I also felt weird pains "downtown" the week of the pregnancy test. I also, now remember I had no desire to eat my favorite candy, Reese's cups. Also, five days before the pregnancy test, I woke up on a Sunday around 8am, by 11am, I was back in bed and woke up at 3pm. That should have been a clue. I still am just so tired. It doesn't help being on the prometrium. Again, I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I pray for each and every one of you....it's not easy being patient, but hang in there. By the way, I didn't get sore boobs until a week after the pg test. Tip for the future, sleep in a sport's bra..big help. I'll talk with you all soon.

Mega, yes, all my shots are subq, thank goodness. I don't know if I could handle the other. You are tough! Galina, Boxers are also great tempered dogs and good w/kids. People think they are intimidating, too, when they don't know the breed. Great for late-night walks!
