Ok everyone, I took it upon myself to launch this one, it's new beginnings for those leaving the 2ww behind, and for those of us who don't want a 2ww anymore ;) (ex. me, lm3, ttc3, etc.)

Hey angelkitty, your husband sounds sooo nice. I love nice guys. I know for sure our husbands go through all this stuff right along with us, getting let down for months, hearing us bitch and moan, and then finally having it happen....they experience it all too. DH's tears are fear, that was good you were able to console him like that and keep your head positive.

TTC#3@35 - March 6

I agree.. very sweet to hear that you two can do that together.. what it is all about.

So linds sorry for the 1000 ?s but so really why does my soon to be dh have to go to see the RE if it will mostly me having to prepare & do all those things? Just to talk? It is just really hard to get him to a dr.. he became a paraplegic due to a dr error is surgery so he pretty much hates seeing them, or having to go to them.. I just recently got him to go to his PCP & get a physical & what not, which he hasnt been to in ohhh 14 years. So i try to prepare him & have him understand completely why he's got to go...

Are you doing an IVF cycle? If you are, your husband will likely need to assist with shots...cuz you can't do them alone and he needs to be taught. If you are doing IUIs, etc. he needs to go to confirm it is in fact him giving the semen sample, etc. There is also tons of paperwork he needs to sign in front of nurses/doctors too. I'm sorry if I am replying incorrectly, but are you going to the RE for the first time?

TTC#3@35 - March 6

Yes. They want him to go make an appt with the RE.. We already did the semen analysis & with those results they said for him to make an appt. We will have to have IVF & possible the ICSI with it.

linds99 - March 6

So yes, he will have to be there with you if you are doing IVF. You will rely on him to give you some of your shots, especially the progestrone shots after IVF egg retrieval. The other shots (lupron, fsh ) you can do on your own. But he needs to be taught how to do these for you in case. Anyway, he also needs to sign the paper work in front of the doctors (they do this so make sure there is no phony bologna going on...) so they ask for driver's license too or ID. He also needs to be there for the actual retrieval to supply the sperm. But as for your daily transvaginal ultrasounds and blood tests while stimming, he won't need to be there. You guys are courageous to be doing this, especially with your husband being a parapalegic. It just goes to show you, just because people have disabilities, doesn't mean they can't do the things other do. You must be a fantastic woman too to go through this for your family. God Bless!

Geez thanks.... Thanks for all the info.. Im sure when the time comes for the all of that I'll be asking alot more in depth ?s. Right now though we are trying on our own to get pregnant (which I really hope happens because once we were told we'd have to do ivf, I was like bring it on!! & he was so upset & said why can't he do anything the normal way.. so we will see what happens..
But I am ready for whatever comes my way.

I say try Pam's technique :) Maybe you won't need all this IVF garbage info after this month! (I can understand your husband in the way he's reminded of his limitations. It must be rough. He probably doesn't want you to go through it either because he loves you.) I'm glad you are participating in this thread...PAM..what are the beta results girl???

pmblake - March 6

Hey everyone.. I don't have any results yet... knowing my OB they've lost the results or have forgotten to call.... but it's only 4pm. maybe they'll call. I've been busy on the couch this afternoon. i'm zonked. Dana! You need to try IUI a few times right? Wouldn't you say Linds? Meds, trigger shot and IUI. There's alot of success w/ that protocol and the fact that you ovulate on your own is totally in your favor. Okay, I'll admit I just watched Cinderella Story w/ Hilary Duff and now I"m going to say "totally" all day ;)

Totally annoyed right now. I just read this article...did you guys see this???Obese Woman: My Stomach Ache Was Labor Pains...400-Pound Woman Delivers Healthy Boy With 2 Days Notice: A 400-pound California woman went to a hospital complaining about a stomachache and got the shock of her life when doctors said she was very pregnant. Only 48 hours later, April Barnum delivered a healthy baby boy. The Orange County Register reported that doctors saw the baby after an X-ray and sent Barnum to the University of California-Irvine Medical Center. The baby's lungs were fully developed, the heartbeat was strong and no defects were detected. Two days later, Walter Scott Edwards III was delivered by Caesarean section, weighing in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces. Barnum and her fiance, Walter Scott Edwards II, said they had no hopes of having any children and had instead spent money on adopting four dogs. Edwards said he is lucky to have relatives who have come forward bringing the necessary items. According to doctors, Barnum's weight was responsible for her not realizing she was pregnant. Since her monthly cycle also stopped a few years ago, because of her obesity, she did not have any other way to detect it. .... ISN'T THAT WEIRD? The moral of the story...be unhealthy, weigh 400 lbs., eat bad, don't get a period= pregnancy...such bologna I tell ya!

JB is a Cutie! Aww, you and dh, so nice...

pmblake - March 6

Beta was 74..... at 11 dpo. I checked on-line and that's a good number. Going on Thursday for another test. let the fingernail biting start ;) JB! Great to hear from you! LINDS! I've heard stories like that too. The teenagers giving birth in their bathrooms and "disposing" of the babies... never knowing (or admitting) that they were ever pregnant to begin with. Makes me sick.

Lovemy3 - Stay positive! All of my pregnancies have literally been miracles (the last 5 w/ medical intervention) but nonetheless, it can happen. Just be positive. and I noticed about your bding schedule. Relax! Did you read where I only bd'ed one time before O and then the day after? I know it's hard to pinpoint it, but it's amazing to me that it worked!! My dr. said there's so many couples or just over do it! The husbands sperm count drops way before O day and even though he can still "shoot" it out he's basically shooting blanks. Just the stuff that holds the swimmers in.. but there are no swimmers. Think about it. It worked for me. Whether this pregnancy stays w/ me of not - less is definitely more!!!
