what are PROGESTERONE supplements for ?

hi- i was doing injections which my RE had me stop doing and now wants me only on progesterone supplements on day 16 to day 25 of my cycle. just curious---- because like a nut head i forgot to ask because i bombarded her with other questions. ---why would she do that since i do not ovulate ? also these are oral---do i take them at night or in the morning. today is day 1 of my cycle.---thank you....ohh anyone had a pregancy from just taking progesterone supplements and not fsh injections ?
