Hi ladies, well today is cd1 for me AF showed just on schedual. 17 day leutal phase, clomid makes my cycles so long. Angel, welcome! this is my 4th round of clomid, let me tell you how i found it, i took 50mg and didn't ovulate, next month took clomid 3-7 100mg and did ovulate but late, cd20. Decided to try 2-6 next month 100mg, ovulated earlier on cd17 but still not pregnant. This month i am trying it on 1-5 i know that isn't common but with my long cycles i think it is worth a shot., i will let you know what happens. The thing i find with clomid is that i get a lot of hot flashes on it ,and headaches it is not that bad though, i take it at night so that the side effects arn't as bad. Well ladies i will check in soon!

LB-I read on the net of a study where more people get pregnant on days 1-5 (the only drawback was sometimes the eggs were underdeveloped and there was a SLIGHT increase in miscarriage. I ovulated too early last time so my doctor is had me take it 4-8, I pray to god it works this time (cycle 2).

Hey girls, glad everyone is well. I'm trying the clomid on cd1-5 this cycle cause I got sick of the long luetal phase aswell. I also take mine at night to avoid the worst of the side affects ( mainly hot flushes and headaches ). I am taking my last dose tonight so then just waiting for O to happen. I hate waiting and I hate wishing life would hurry up already but I just want to have a baby in my arms. I received the photo's of my ds today from the hospital along with his name bracelet and hand/footprints, so I'm a little bit emotional today. But still looking forward to ttc again. I'm still only going to use my saliva scope to let me know when to BD. I try and not let my DH know where I am up to in my cycles, as I've worked out he gets pretty stressed if he thinks he has to perform rather than just doing it cause he wants to. Sounds silly I know but you know what men are like lol. Oh well girls have a great day and will chat soon. Kiza xxxxx

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum, just trying to keep up the with what the abbreviations...I believe I got most of them, but what does AF stand for?

blanketsandbottles - July 20

Hi everyone! Today was the 8th day of the progesterone supplements! Moving on down the line! I just found out that my cousin/bestfriend is going to have to have her galbladder removed! She is 34weeks preggers and is stressing about the situtation!!! They won't do the surgery when the baby is born, so she has to have a seperate procedure. They are most likely going to have to do a section because the baby is still breech! What to do?! Sally, AF stands for Aunt Flow...your period! Don't worry, it takes a while for everyone to get used to the abrev! Whats your story?

Hi girls...sorry I haven't been on here in a while...I guess i kinda lost this thread! How are you all doing? I'm doing okay...I'm on cd 9 and I took my last dose of clomid today. I really hope that I O this cycle...I'm starting to get really frustrated. Kiza, did your doctor suggest that you try taking the clomid on cd1-5? I'm curious because I have been taking it on cd5-9 and it doesn't seem to be working. Does anyone know the reason doctors prescribe clomid on different days?

Hello everyone! My name is Tanya and I have been trying to conceive #2 for 27 months. Started clomid 50mg in September 2005, ovulated and got AF in early October, when I took my second dose. November 14, I got my BFP and the same day in the evening I started bleeding. After m/c I had one normal cycle and then nothing for 3 month. My doc had me on 2 more doses of clomid 50mg on which I did NOT ovulate. I am now waiting for AF (last time she stuck around for 26 days) so I can start clomid 100mg. I am truly hoping it will work for us all. Kiza & LB, I am so sorry for your losses. You are very brave to start again. Lots of sticky baby dust. :)

LB - July 21

Hi ladies, cd2 and my second dose of clomid, i am having pains in my ovaries a bit already! yikes i hope they arn't cysts. Kiza i remember the photos and footprints all too well. I have his little outfit that he wore in the hospital as well, it makes me break down everytime i see it. I remember at the time, i don't want all this stuff, how can i go on with just memories? but now i am so thankful i have his photos and his "stuff" even a little hair because if not for them i would be so lost, it is my only connection to my little guy. I guess we are going to try clomid 1-5, thank god i am not the only one, i think if our leutal phase is long on clomid i don't think we have to worry about miscarriage because we will have produced enough progestrone normally to sustain the pregnancy. A lot of first trimester miscarriages stem from low progestrone, or chromosome abnormalities. Blankets i hear gallbladder surgery is common among pregnant women, granted that noone wants to have a c section than a gall bladder removal but it is pretty common and uncomfortable but necessary. When do you test blankets? are you 8 days past O? well check in soon ladies, got to go take my dose of clomid! bfp for everyone!

Hey girls, welcome new people it's very nice to meet you........... soimpatient, there is no medical reason for doctors perscribing clomid on different days it is just what the doc prefers. Some are more willing than others to change days if a course hasn't worked for you some aren't. The most common days are 5-9 or 3-7 I have also heard 2-6 and 4-8 so it really varies. There has been quite a bit of success according to some studies I found on the net with cd1-5, so that is why I am trying it also cause cd5-9 made my leutal phase too long. Perhaps give your doc a call and see what they say...........blanketsandbottles I had my gallbladder out 3 weeks after giving birth to my twins. It wasn't too bad.Iwas able to have keyhole surgery so my recovery time was pretty good.
My twins were actually still in the NNICU so I didn't have time to sit in bed and be sore. Anyway I hope it all turns out well for her.............LB, great to hear you are doing cd 1-5 aswell. I have also been getting twinges, from my right side this time. Apparently from tests I've had done my left side is cactus and It would be near impossible to conceive from that tube. And I know last time I O'ed the pains were in the left side, so fingers crossed. Have a great day girls and will check back later. Kiza xxxzzz

Hey ladies, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, I'm having a bit of a movie marathon, I've watched Click, The Lakehouse, You,Me and Dupree, Little Man, Monster House and Superman Returns. I think I am all movied out. I love being able to curl up on the couch when it is cold outside and watch a few good flicks. Still not much new to report with me, I had some ferning on my saliva scope this morning so we will probably start bd'ing tonight. I don't think I am going to take the robitussin for cm this cycle though as I don't think it agreed with my system last month, and I think it helped the cm too early so by the time O arrived it was all gone ( sorry if tmi ). I don't normally have a problem with cm when on clomid and you can't buy it in pill form here in Aussie, and the bloody stuff tastes disgusting. Is anyone else thinking about taking it? Enjoy the rest of your day and will chat again later. Kiza xxxxx

Hello ladies!! I am TTC # I have been on 500 mg of metformin, now upgraded to 1000mg, and taking provera to jump start AF. Today makes day three f that med and my clomid days are 3-7. I am really new at this process so a lot of terms used here are over my head and I have NO CLUE as to what some are talking about. My biggest question is how do you all know when are ovulating and do you follow the clomid schedule given by the doc exactly? I have no clue what i'm doing except for taking the pills so this is a desperate cry for some HELP!!!!! :) Well i hope that you all can offer some insight for this newbie. Thanks and GL

Hi Ladies! Hope that you all are enjoying your weekend! Kiza...I wish I could curl up on the couch and watch movies! That sounds so relaxing! DH and I had to make a huge SAMS run. We had to buggies full to the top. My baby sister is leaving for college Monday and we are all having a get2gether for her tomorrow. Good Luck on the BDing! I am hoping that this is your month. I am going to take the last provera pill tonight. The weird thing is that last time it was about 5d until AF showed. This morning I woke up bleeding lightly. I tried to call my doc office, but its Saturday and of course no one was there! I guess I'll have to wait til Monday. Danaroach...How long have you been ttc? This cycle will make 9mo for DH and I. I was also taking provera to jump start AF. I go to the doc next week to get another script of clomid. This time it will be 100mg. Well, Good Luck on ttc and keep us posted. Oh...if you have any questions about the terms or abrev just ask. We all had to get used to it.

Hi ladies, cd4 here and i am anxiously waiting to O i am hoping to ovulate early this time. Danaroach, i use opk's to detect when i am ovulating (ovulation sticks) and i use the clearblue fertility monitor as well because that detects an increase in estrogen levels and lh levels. I took provera to start my periods when i didn't ovulate and i only got my period 11 days after the last pill i was taken. Well good luck ladies, check in soon

Good Morning Ladies! I hope everyones weekend went well. I am still lightly bleeding this am. I am waiting on the doc office to open so I can call and see what they want me to do. One of the guys my DH works with, who is also a good friend of ours, he and his wife had their DS at midnight Saturday. They had to do a section b/c he was breech, but all is well and they are expected to come home today or tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good day! I'll let you all know what the doc has to say!
