I've had to be put on anti-depressants and go to my parents because I keep cleaning obsessively to stop Sophie getting ill - its loopy and I hope it goes soon but the doctors think it will take months so sorry if I'm not on here so much but good luck everyone.

Hang in there, Justine! Take care of yourself, so that you can enjoy every minute of Sophie in the baby stage. It's amazing how fast time passes..so enjoy! Thinking of you.

Monica, I'm in a similiar boat as you! update, I had a final u/s today and after a long 4 weeks of hope the baby has no heart beat. I am in the stages of miscarrying so I am scheduled for a DNC. I had 3 embryos implanted and none made it on my first attempt. I did have a heartbeat 2 weeks ago at my last u/s. we will try again in January. my hcg levels were low from the beginning but my dr. wanted to wait until he know for sure if the fetus would make it. I will check back in in January.

Hi Nita- I am sooo sorry to hear the news. Hang in there. Nothing is worse than this emotional rollercoaster that we all have been on for so long. Just know that we're thinking of you and sending you all the baby dust we can. Hang in there.

Well ladies, here it is two days from when I meet with our RE and start this whole crazy process! I'm incredibly anxious to get going with this...although I'm sure there will be more tests to go through and then there's the dreaded waiting list. Did any of you have a long wait on a waiting list at your clinics? The last time we met with our RE she had said there was a 5 month long waiting list to get started...however I know they have added a new RE to their staff so hopefully that has shortened the wait. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well on Tuesday, so that we can begin this process as soon as possible. After nearly two and a half years of trying, I'm not getting any younger!!! Baby dust to you all!

Justine, your girl is adorable! I hope your feeling better now. I am sorry I haven’t been here for you, Nita and Jen. I needed to be alone and have my crying fits. Hyperstimulation knocked me about for 2 weeks!! I would never wish it upon my worst enemy!! I finally got back into the gym, the weight is slowing coming off and I am feeling so much better. Physically I’m feeling great. Emotionally, I still cry at the crop of a hat but have to think of the good things around me. DH and I went up to the coast for a few days which really helped. Instead of thinking “why me” and feeling sorry for myself, I started to think of the good things in my life ..”why me” that I have the most amazing husband? “why me” do I live in a beautiful home? “why me” that I have the most beautiful family and friends? “why me” that I wake up each morning thinking my life can only get better. Nita, I am thinking of you!! I am truly sorry for what has happened. I too am going again in Jan. Keep in contact so we can help each other through it. Jen, I never had a waiting list. I started the week after I went in for my 2nd consultation. Where are you from? I will be thinking of you tomorrow and my fingers are crossed!! Make sure you let us know you go. Hi Monica! Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. I'm in the U.S. and the clinic I go to is the best in my state, so it's very hard to get into. I'm praying that the wait won't be long, but I'm definitely not planning on starting until after the new year...although earlier would be great!! Baby dust to you all!

I hope to God you get in there asap Jen!! We all know nothing is worse that the waiting game!! Have you atleast booked in? Have you got adate to go by? Maybe we can go together? lol. I'm seeing my specialist again next week and he will be advising me on my next step. I'm alittle scared as I do not want to start the new year with another disapointment...another let down... I don't think emotionally I can take anymore crap. But I will soldier on, and I'll look back one day and wonder why I wasted all my energy on being upset and not enjoy what I have.... one day..xx

What is ivf?

I'm doing IVF and retrieval is set for Saturday. I'm excited and nervous...it looks like we'll have 5 or 6 follilcles. I'm 41, so I have to be cautiously optimistic. I did follistim and lupron. I wish everyone the best!

Monica, Jen and Rudi - Hope the IVF goes well for you all. Monica - I think you're right you have to look at the good things you've got and not what you haven't got - that's how I got through it too. And you will get your baby - it just takes longer. It's worth it though. Sophie is adoreable and wants cuddles all the time.

Hey everyone! Well yesterday was my big appointment with RE. It was a very positive appointment and I have another appointment set to meet with her again at the end of January to go over the final tests. I need to have some blood work done, as does dh, and a SHG. Anyone have one of those done before? I have already had a HSG and was told it is similar to it..but don't really know a whole lot about it. The good news is that my RE thinks that our date will probably be in April! They usually have a much longer waiting list...so I was guessing more like June or July...so I'm very excited to get started earlier! That's about it for now. Hang in there everyone!

rudi-my retrieval was tuesday and i go in for transfer friday. so i guess we're a little less than a week apart. we should chat. good luck with retrieval! hope you get lots of great eggs!!!

GOOD LUCK Beth...the waiting game begins for you as of tomorrow!! Make sure you let us know how you go, when you ready that is. Rudi, you have nothing to be worried about. Egg collection is the easiest part. And you seem to have enough follies. They normally write how many eggs collected on your hand (well, that's how they do it in Australia) so when you wake up you will know. Make sure you also come back and let us know. Jen, I am soooooooo excited for you!! April is just around the corner. In regards to the HSG, I had it done a couple of years back but not while going through IVF. There is a few different procedures done depending on what cycle they will be taking you through.

were only 5 or 6.

Jen- I did the hsg but not the shg so I don't know about that. There will be so many tests and ultrasounds....Good luck to you!
