Well, everything went well, however, there were no problems. No blocked tubes, and very little endo, which was not causing any problems with fertility. So I guess it's back to the drawing board. I was very sore Yesterday but this morning I'm feeling a little better. Still having pain in my shoulder from the gas and dull pain in my abdomin which is expected. Well good luck to all.

I've had a couple of friends get pregnant after their lap. One got pregnant the next month, and the other about 8 months later. I had a lap on October 7 - Go back to see my doctor tomorrow - Still praying!

I thought maybe the HSG exam can remove scar tissue instead of the Lap from the contrast dye. Maybe if the tubes are completely damage then it results into the band aid surgery. I also hear during a HSG exam a doctor can force a flexible instrumennt into the cervix to remove scar tissue instead of the Lap. Thats what i will consider when i take the Hsg exam, if i have scar tissue thats blocking my tubes. good luck 2 all

This question is for Patty, did you have blocked tubes.]
Thanks

christine- I'm sorry to hear your tubes were blocked. Did the procedure unblock the tubes? At least now you know what the problem is and can correct it. As for me. They still are not sure.

STACEY - November 18

Hi everyone, first thank you for all your posts, I hope that you all are blessed with a baby as soon as possible!!! I am 35 trying for my 1st, I had a lap done on Nov 11th. Dr removed 3 polyps on my uterus, endometriosis and adhesions from an appendix being removed when I was 15, I am still bleeding but not as bad as the first few days, Dr says it can last for a few wks and maybe a month.I had the shoulder pain which went away after a few days. Worst thing is the pain meds and the constipation. I am having trouble in that area and Dr says it is from the meds. Before all this I tried accupuncture for 9 wks and it seemed like all it did was relax me for a day or so but obviously did nothing for my fertility. I say everyone is different so I am not against it if it works for others but for me It was very expensive and insurance would not cover so it preety much seemed like a waste of money. So now my Dr says give it a few months then try the fertility drugs, then he said if they don't work we can discuss invitro. If it makes anyone feel better my cousin was trying for 7yrs to get pregnant and after she had the surgery she got pregnant in the first month, Everyone hang in there this is the hardest thing emotionally I have ever gone through. I have found alot of people just dont get it!...I have people asking me if I like kids and they come right out and ask my husband and I what are problem is. It really sucks so once again I wish everyone of you the best of luck and thank you again for all of your input..

Stacey- Well Said- I like you am in my mid 30's (34) It is an emotional roller coaster. This is the second time I've had to go through this. It took 2 years to conceive my first (now almost 5). We have been ttc for 19 months with a mc in april 05. So I understand your frustration. I do understand the cost. Luckly my doc wrote my surgery up as needed for abdominal pain so the insurance would cover it. Any other treatment from hear on out will come out of our pocket. I have to wait until March. If nothing happens by then, then he will start me on Meds. (which I know are expensive.) Good luck and stay in touch. This is a great place to vent and get support. Christine - I have never been to an RE, so I'm sure they will be able to help you with the blocked tubes. They are more aggressive in helping than obs are. As for me who knows what my problem is. I am ovulating regularly, my tubes aren't blocked, I have no infections so who knows. My dh has never been tested so maybe it's him. I'm going to have him try an at home test to see. The doc told me to bd, M, W & F in Dec. T, Th and S in Jan. And continue changing each month until my next appt. so we make sure to hit ov. I know we are already hitting the good days since I have charted everything there is to chart and do opt. Who knows. Well good luck with everything and keep me posted.

to christine, did u have the Lap exam because during that exam the Dr. usally unblock the tubes and remove scar tissue with the lasar or operational scissors. Its hard to believe they didn't unblock the tubes. did u request to have it unblock or u just let them perform the exam w/o saying anything.

christine - November 19

hi mimi,
he told me he would try to , i guess he couldnt, i woke up drowsy but i remember these words ivf, i still cant beleive it?

mimi - November 21

A doctor should be able to remove abnormal tissue thats blocking the tubes. Sometimes it may take a while or he/she may schedule you for a 2nd procedure. Thats the point of a Laparoscopy exam to detect abnormal tissue and to correct the anotomical problem. I advise you to see another doctor.

mimi - November 21

christine did u ask the doctor if your tubes were unblock and usually a woman can have lap or ivf to increase pregnancy rates. sometimes women prefer ivf instead of surgery.

christine - November 21

hi mimi, i saw a RE he said he wouldnt recommend unblocking because of the amount of scarring, they are reccommending IVF but that is too expensive for me, i am financially challenged right now so my ttc dream i think its over to be truthful. i have a dd who is six years old , i had her in the mall with me on saturday and she says everyone at the mall has a brother or sister why is she all alone, its funny she says that the same day i had the verdict ivf i feel so sad for her, but that's life, i am going to look into adoption, because ivf is out for me and with my luck i feel it wont work. i had surgery to remove fibroids and ended up with all that scarring , but good luck to you and baby dust, i think you are ttc your first. i wish you all the best. thanks for your post.

mimi - November 22

My Dr. inform me that if its mass amount of scarring it requires a two day procedure. There are different techniques that can remove scarring and what kind of instrument did your Dr. perform on you. There is operational scissors and laser surgery. the laser has a better advantage because it minimizes injury to surrounding areas. The operational scissors they use to cut the scarring can scar your surrounding area or put a hole in surrounding areas. I wish u luck with ttc and if this your dream be consistent. I'll keep you in my prayers and very much LUCK.
