Pregnancy after HSG

Anyone get pregnant after HSG? We have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years, everything has been normal-sperm count, blood tests, HSG, only prolactin slightly elevated and taking low dose of bromocriptine each day.

if I am correct the HSG was the very uncomfortable x-ray right? I had it done last month and no luck with a pregnancy. They fertility specialist said there will be an increased chance since the dye "cleans" everything out but I had no luck. Starting a cycle of clomid today for the first time. My husband and I are both fine too and fall under the category of unexplained infertility. I never thought that this would be so difficult and aggravating.

my first pregnancy was a tubal. a year later i had the hsg and got pregnant the month after the test. the baby's heart beat was slow and i had a miscarriage at 11 wks. my doctor said because of my age 36 my eggs were old and sticky. nice huh. they said my tubes were clear but im wondering if they are too small or restricted. im almost tempted to have another painful hsg to see if i can get pregnant again, its been a year since my last pregnancy.

I am 39 and we have been trying for our 1st for 6 months. because of my age we decided to get an HSG to make sure things are ok and everything checked out fine. 5 days ago i had some spotting and my period was due about the same time. It has not materialized although I had slight staining for about 4 days. a pregnancy test yesterday came back negative. I am not sure I am pregnant and will wait another week before taking another test. I heard somewhere that the HSG test can cause swelling and block a normal menstrual flow which may be what has happened to me. Only time will tell.

I had an HSG due to the suspician that because of childhood peritonitis (age 10) my tubes might be blocked. We had been trying to get pregnant for 14 months. The HSG showed open tubes and was not uncomfortable to me at all. It turns out that I got pregnant about 2-3 days afterwards. I am now in week 5 after conception (still very early) but all the signs of pregnancy are there (2 pos. pregnancy tests too). I am also sure that this is the first time I have ever been pregnant - at 41 - that's pretty unbelievable.

I had a HSG last year (it was all clear, my tubes weren't blocked anyway) and I got pregnant this year. :-)

I had a HSG done in Jan and I was pregnant 3 months later after TTC for 2 years...I'm a believer! it works...

I had an HSG test a few weeks ago, a week after a egg viability test all showing positive results. I am 38 and have never been pregnant and thought that there was something wrong with me until I had these tests. My husbands sperm count is well above normal and I've convinced myself that if I could only stop wanting to be pregnant and relax that I'd be able to conceive. Our fertility doctor wants us to start on clomid and shots and go for an IUI next cycle, but I'm almost inclined to wait for 2 or 3 months to see if I can't conceive on my own, being that you're suppose to be most fertile, on your own, after the HSG test. Any thoughts? Even though VERY painful, I'd go through the HSG test all over again if I knew that the outcome would be the same.

All of our fertility tests came back normal. NO reason why we are not pregnant. Had an HSG last week. Probably ovulated on MOnday. Had severe painand cramping in both sides from Sunday to Thursday. Will let you know if HSG really works for infertility. Update in first week of March:) Hoping!!

I became pregnant 2 months after an HSG and had been trying for 6 years prior to the test. The doctors advised me for some reason after and HSG it increases your chance to conceive. It worked for me! Good luck!

We have been TTC for 2 years. My husband has normal sperm levels, I've done the Clomid/Estrodial/Prochieve route, and had my first HSG test today. Your posts are encouraging, despite the excruciating pain of the HSG!! The HSG xray showed both ovaries blocked, but the dye "unblocked" the right side. I'm 35 and hopeful.

I had an HSG on February 9th. (yes it was painful!) I ovulated the following week and I've been experiencing cramps since Sunday. My period is due this weekend so we'll see what happens! We've been trying for 5 months and I'm very hopeful.

I had an HSG on Feb. 9th as well. Both tubes open except that my uterus has a weird shape but does not prevent me from conceiving. I have been having these minor, weird cramps since 4 days ago and my temp is still up there (something I don't normally experience so early on before AF). My hubby and I have been trying to conceive for a while as well but heard that after HSG you are about 30% more fertile. I have my fingers crossed. I will give update first week of March. Good luck to all of you who are trying just as hard ;-)

Update after HSG this month. STill having cramps and some nausea for a few days after HSG for appx 2 wks. Definately ovulated. HSG test came back normal. So hopefully all of the success with this HSG by other hopefuls will work for me. Will update in 1 week of March.
Question: Has anyone tried Vitex to help regulate cycle and promote ovulation?

tryingat40 - February 25

Good luck to you Brenda as well as everyone else hoping to conceive. Fortunately, my HSG showed no problems and I will also have an update next week! Stay positive....

I am running a fever today. Have swollen gland under chin. Very hungry and thirsty. Have been having cramps and back pain all day.
